Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Okay, I'm about to begin my first attempt at RNG'ing the roamers. I'm going for Latias in HG. The only thing I'm confused on is precisely which order to do the added steps for the roamers when in the Seed To Time menu, as I'm sure it's a little different from D/P/Pt.

So, upon reading one tutorial document, I was told that I have to hit my target time and then trigger the event that releases her, ie: walking out of the fan club house in Vermilion, which will then determine her nature and IV's. But then the first page of this topic tells me that I have to put a check in the box beside the "L" and plug in the route number that she appears on when released, and save. The hell?

There seems to be a bit of a catch 22 here, because how can I plug in the value of the route that she appears on before I even have my target time? The explanation doesn't seem very thorough, as it glosses over some important stuff. Either that, or I'm just missing something.

Also, how exactly would I go about finding and catching her once the IV's are determined? I'm guessing I'll need some repel and a mon with sweet scent?

So, anyways, um. . .help please?

You don't need to enter the route on which she is after she is released. That's stupid. Save in the Pokémon Fanclub House, right in front of the exit. Now, hit your delay, and when you get ingame, bring your Pokégear up as soon as you can. If you've hit the right delay, then advance to lets say frame 10, and go out as fast as you can. Talk to Steven, and then check your Pokégear to see on which route Latias is.

And yeah, you will need some Repel, Sweet Scent is not really necessary though. Also, when you capture her, check her IV's so you can see which frame you got after you advanced to frame 10. Don't save this time, just turn it off, but make a not of how many frames your game advanced from the point of walking out the door to talking to Steven.

I'm playing Pearl and I've got a problem - if I let Palkia beat me and I'll go back, I'll met the same Palkia or I'll be able to RNG it? Having Shiny Adamant 31/31/31/7/31/31 Palkia would be awesome, I don't want to miss my chance (I RNGd my SID/ID for this spread) ...
Thanks a lot in advance.

You'll have to RNG abuse it again. It's still there if I'm correct.

I meant, will I meet the same random Palkia spread or I'll be able to RNG another spread (in that case, quintflawless adamant shiny one)?

OK, so I am RNGing a Mewtwo, and I hit my Delay and I am in front of it. So I am advancing my frame by talking to my Chikorita, then I walk around until I get my frame(114) BUT sometimes when I am trying to get the right frame, my initial seed(the number on the right in the Memory in DesMuMe) changes! Why is that?!?!

EDIT: OK, I know whats wrong with this problem so everything is OK. BUT I have another problem. I CAN NOT hit my 114 frame D: It skips 114 and goes from 113 to 115 :o

EDIT2: Sorry for all the edits lol but I got to 114 and it isn't shiny or has the IVs I want >:|

Okay, will do.

But one major flaw: Chasing her could present quite a few problems in terms of frame advancement. After all, I can't just fly to where she shows up, cuz she'll just zip over to someplace else far away from me, like all roamers do (and will often do so for no reason whatsoever). So I have to chase her on bike, through towns with untold wandering NPC's.

I honestly have no flippin idea how best to mitigate this.

Lol, never mind. I forgot the IV's and nature are already set in stone once she's released.

Uh... the IVs are generated when it initally spawns and they don't change unless you faint it and cause it to respawn (by starting the battle w/ Lance). Easiest way to catch it is to fly repeatedly to Saffron. Roamers don't move when you change routes by going through a gatehouse. Saffron has a gatehouse at all 4 exits but you need Rock Climb to reach the tall grass at the exit to the North.

Oh and it's much easier to RNG it from Lance's room but that requires the other two roamers to still be roaming or certain AR codes to check your initial seed.

use eepid.exe to find calibration

and use the spreadsheet here

I used the spreadsheet, but..

The "J" column has an error
I use Openoffice..

And..

What's the meaning of "gender" (0-255???), "PID%6", "70%", "50%" and "20%" ? Where are the IVs?
Sorry, I'm noob xD

IVs are generated separately from the egg PID in 3rd and 4th gen (PID when the Old Man starts holding the egg, IVs when you take it from him). Gender chance is the base, the number is used differently for different gender ratios (in here somewhere), and PID6% isn't really needed in 3rd gen but it's to determine the characteristic if your pokemon has multiple IVs tied for the highest one. 70, 50, and 20 are the egg generation chances. If the parents are both different OT and different species (same egg group obv.) it's 70%. If it's one of the two then 50%. If neither it's 20%.

You have to enable macros for the shiny column to work, I use a custom calc that bitxor's the PID and your ID to determine if its shiny.

Code:
=IF(BITXOR(BITXOR(MOD(HEX2DEC(B875),65536),HEX2DEC(L875)),INDIRECT("X"&1))<8, "!!!", "")

The nature lookup table operates off of an INDIRECT function, and the %'s work off of MOD, others work off of HEX2DEC as well. Since everything else works, I assume that the macros are the problem.

Whoop! 31/31/31/21/31/31 adamant Dratini! Once I hit 15,115 twice in a row, I knew I would get it. Do any of you guys breed for Hidden Power in Emerald? I was wondering because I want a Scyther with a not-so-crappy movepool. Silver Wind, Aerial Ace, Swords Dance, and HP Rock was what I was thinking. I have a Ditto with all 31's, but how would I go about quickly getting the appropriate 30's in the correct stats for needed HP's? I'm guessing I'd have to RNG several times until a desired parent comes up? Or is it even worth it? It'll be much easier in 4th gen with IV check, but since Emerald doesn't have that, or even quick egg hatch, it doesn't seem plausible. Do you guys have any experience with Emerald Hidden Power breeding? Retail cart only, because I have no way of transferring my save.

How can I activate this macro? The shiny column doesn't work.. and what is bitxor?

I've calibrated my egg with 600 frame. So there:
high: 62274
low: 13397
why I have such high values?

and the second test:
high: 33122
low: 27851

what's the meaning of these two numbers? frame? PID?

I downloaded RNG Reporter (version 8.31) this spring and have used it to hatch around 20 shiny pokemon. It worked easily and I've spent the past few months leveling them up. Now I'm trying to hatch some more shinies, but I can't seem to get the thing to work. Here's what I do:

1. Get onto route 229 with a group of 5 pokemon (including the parents and a flyer) and the happiness app on the bottom screen. I then save and soft reset once a new minute has been reached.
2. Mash the A button through the intro, get into a battle and catch one of the level 50+ pokemon and put the stats, nature, etc. into the Seed Finder.
3. Write down the seed and put it into the main RNG Reporter screen with the shiny only box checked. I then do the happiness application taps and coin flips.
4. Fly to Solaceon, put the parents in the daycare, bike until the old man has the egg, take it and hatch it with a magcargo out in front.

A few months ago I was able to do this and get a shiny. Now it's not working and I just get a regular pokemon. Help?

Edit: Just downloaded version 9.75 beta and 9.81 beta. Here's what I got using 9.75 beta, trying for shiny burmy:

Seed E917027E, Target Frame 1171, PID 02750329
the burmy should be an adamant female, the resulting burmy is lonely female w/ somewhat vain for the characteristic (non-shiny, of course).

I've hit my seed a couple times now for my egg, and everything's going smoothly, but even though I JUST called Joey and he was not looking for a battle, when I hit my seed, he suddenly is. Even AFTER I beat him and fly straight back to the Day Care, he suddenly wants another fight. What do I do about this? Is there at least another way to advance the frame that determines non-IV characteristics BESIDES doing Joey calls?

Use a different day of the week. Joey only accepts rematches on certain days of the week at a certain time of the day.

Geez. . . um, I'm still trying to get Latias in HG, and I have to wonder, do I even NEED to check the box next to the L in the Seed To Time window? What's the purpose of the "skipped" Elm call result? Because I know precisely which seed I hit (which is not my target seed) and the elm calls didn't skip over the first one.

Also, how many frames does walking outside of the Pokemon club advance? Say my target frame is 42, (without factoring in the moving Bayleef) do I walk out when I'm on frame 41? I'm fully aware of the calibration step here, I'm just speaking theoretically so I know when to stop advancing the frame.

Skipped Elm calls are due to roamers, so if it Latias/Latios is not roaming, no need to have it checked at all.
If it was roaming you'd check mark it, and put in what route it's on. It's another method of seed verification.

When I was abusing it, the frames jumped around quite a few time. I got anywhere from 3-7 if I remember right.
Bayleef doesn't advance the frame at all. Nor does any set path NPC.

If you haven't caught the other two roamers you can faint the Lati and RNG it from Lance's room instead. You can't make calls there so you need to use the Roamer method to verify your seed (or an AR code). It's 1 frame from there so you advance to the frame before your spread.
