I'm not sure if anybody plays this game, but a lot of kids at my school play this game called Nationstates and its a lot of fun. Basically you get to make your own nation and decide on issues that pop up to impact decisions, etc. Everything you do affects your economy, freedoms and other stats. It's ridiculously addictive and if you're politically inclined lots of fun. You can oppress the shit out of everybody, or run it peacefully, or even be like my brother who has a nation where all he does is pick the first option for everything.

Anyway this is my nation, named after the best hockey coach ever. I'm trying to cut back on Political freedoms tbh and I at one point had Old Age killing 100% of my population, I'm trying to return to that as well.
 
do i just wait around for some issue to pop up? are the issues random or are they cycled every day or something?
 
yeah you have to wait for issues. There's a pool of them and you get a random one every time you get one. You can set issues to appear more frequently under settings.
 
Oh man, this is really cool.

My only qualm with the site so far is that we can't upload an image to use as our flag. Either way, my nation is Cienne.
 
hey, i didn't know too many people played this. ive had it for a little while. my current nation is this guy.
you can actually get nationstates 2 i think, which is even more involved, but i like the original one cause its much simpler.
im not very knowledgeable with politics but even though this is just a game, i think im learning a little bit.
i think i may want to get another one because ive basically steamrolled the environment to mine for uranium, which is really fucking up people's health, but our economy is doing great.
i think i wanna get some better civil rights, shrink the government, and simplify spending. taxes are down, but could be lower, and some shit is getting weird haha. there's always something weird in this game though, i guess. for whatever you decide, some other weird change occurs in opposition to your decision, i think.
 
The telegrams by people wanting my nation to join their region are getting obnoxious. Can I block them? Also, this looks fun! Thanks for posting. I'll have to remember to check it daily lol.
 
the telegrams only happen when you first join the game, you always get hammered by them haha.
i just joined the region smogonites, so if you wanna join me and mastadi we can conquer the world or something i dunno.
 
Seems pretty cool, made a country. Time to be as cruel as possible. North Korea part 2 bitcheeees! >:)

Also, I've been playing for like 2 minutes, and I've already received clan requests. How the hell is that possible?!

Yeah I made a nation. It's not a big deal or anything, but maybe you've heard of the Free Land of Strong Able Bodied Mantopia. Manly Pilgrim Men (and some Manly Pilgrim Women), tired of living day to day in cubicles, set out on an expedition into the wilderness. Following a wild Honey Badger, the expedition found a perfect untamed paradise to call home.

Strong Able Bodied Mantopia is literally the perfect society because we've abandoned paper currency. Our currency is respect, which solves so many problems. Why just today an issue came up in the Hall of Mutual Admiration where someone was worried that perhaps we should give more of our currency to the poor. In a primitive paper money society the greedy hoard money from the poor, but in Mantopia the destitute are the way they are because we simply don't give those bums any Respect. In spite of this, we have little crime because you can't steal Respect. In fact, even being a criminal means you probably have no Respect. I was looking through my nation's records, and I found that the amount you had to bribe a public official to get anything done was unusually high. But then I remembered "Well yeah, why help someone who isn't giving you any Respect?". It's such a wonderfully flawless society, and as our neighbors and the world at large see how perfect we are our economy is only going to get exponentially stronger.
 
Crime is a major problem. Brown Sugar's national animal is the Snowy Owl, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Spigot.

Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Ultimate Muscle Roller Legend's national animal is the Herring, and its currency is the Billy.

Of my first issues, I got nudity and gay marriage as 2/3 besides the I think obligatory "is democracy compulsory" crap. Awesome coincidence, or all knowing game..??
 
this is fucking awesome, looks like i just found what im gonna be playing every day from now on in school!
