i hope the magic win but i think kobe REALLY wants to win a championship without shaq and wont go down easy.

lakers in 7

I don't like the idea of Jameer Nelson suddenly coming back into the mix. Remember Chris Webber and the Kings? Totally threw off their chemistry.

lol get off your high horse. kobe has only taken less than 21 shots in about 7 of his 18 playoff games

andrew bynum is such a scrub that i dont see why you repeatedly bring him up, he's scored over 10 points 3 times in the playoffs, 2 of them in blow outs and 1 of them in a loss. fisher on the other hand, has had 12 games where he shot less than 40%. he sucks too and has no effect on how lakers do. lamar odom showed up for round 1, and in the next 13 games showed up only 3 times to contribute anything noteworthy. the lakers start and finish with kobe, cause whenever kobe stinks it up, they lose. if he's on, then they win. gasol his consistent every single game so there's no point in bringing him up. if anything, it's shannon brown and gasol that keeps them afloat. everything else is up to kobe. he has already and could continue to shoot his team out the game.

and ariza is about the most overrated defender this whole season. he still gives up plenty of mental lapses. example, in a regular season game (argue that it doesn't count, go for it), lakers up by 2, and he's guarding iggy and gives him a wide open 3 pointer to win it. who's similar to iggy that can drive with the ball or step back with the 3? hedo. and how's he going to guard rashard? stand behind him on the post or let him shoot the 3.

but anyways, you're probably going to try to attack me back on this since you're being subjective and showing blatant homerism but whatever.

end of the day, kobe could still shoot the team out the game.

also jameer isn't coming back, they're not risking that injury.

Why won't they hit as many threes though?
Double reasons,
firstly it's ridiculous to expect them to keep up their high shooting percentage from downtown especially with the volume of 3's they are shooting (they shot like 10% better against the Cavs then they did in the regular season)

And secondly, the Lakers won't be double-teaming Howard as much, meaning that all of their shooters will actually be covered most of the time.

Yes, you caught me... Ima blatant as hell laker fan... but hey.. their in the finals for a reason.. and Kobe is still the best player in the league. Have a nice day.

What a lame response to a well thought-out post :|

Kobe doesn't shoot the Lakers out of games? Take off your homer glasses when you watch Laker games :|

Also apparently, Kobe is better than Jordan? wtf?

Kobe isn't the best player in the league. Maybe the best shooter or something like that but he isn't a team player. Chris Paul is somewhere up there as well. Yeah I said it.

Chris Paul is THE best team player there is. Anyways I say Magic over lakers in 5, I think magic will win games 1,3,4,5 since its a 2-3-2 format

Chris Paul is no where near the caliber of Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade. If you can spot me any reason, then be glad to say it but I don't see any. Best PG probably, but this year he just showed lack of leadership. Deron Williams is on the same boat or may be better. Chris Paul has "decent" defense and brings the finesse and flashy moves while Williams is more grounded, controlled, has great leadership and most importantly he plays defense near Gary Payton's or Kidd's level back in their prime. Not to mention the fact Williams always outplays Paul everytime they go head-to-head. Williams > Paul

I never said he was better than kobe, wade or lebron, i just said he's the best team player. the only reason he showed a lack or leadership this year is bcause, peja was pretty cold all year, and chandler wasnt there to catch his alley oops which happens to be one of the hornet's signature plays. I do agree that Deron is much more disciplined but less aggressive than paul seeing as Paul has 3 Steals per game but often has plenty of turnovers

Paul isn't even the best PG in the NBA, and he gets torched by quality PGs.

Anyway, I highly advise all of the "Kobe is selfish" people to watch Doin' Work. After watching it I was astounded at the amount of thought that goes into each play and how smart of a guy and player Kobe is. Say what you want, but Kobe is the ultimate leader for a team and I am certain he will lead the Lakers to a victory over the Magic. I mean, I like the Magic more, but-

Lakers in 6 or 7

Yeah, I found that movie very intriguing the amount of detail that goes into his game. And we have a word for those "Kobe is selfish" and "Kobe shoots too much" and "Kobe shoots his team out of games." It's called haters....

Kobe doesn't shoot the Lakers out of games? Take off your homer glasses when you watch Laker games :| How about you watch a game for a change!!!??? When the lakers lose, its because his teammates aren't performing, which causes the defense to double up on him, which forces him into bad shots. I'm not saying he doesn't have bad games, I'm just saying he rarely has bad games, and when the lakers lose its not soley the fault of Kobe Bryant like you and others are implying. I don't see all of you coming down on LeBron James for "shooting the Caveliers out of the series." He clearly shot too much by your standards and forced them to lose (I think this is a crock of shit, but I'm using YOUR reasoning). Or what about Carmelo? Towards the end of the series he was getting half his points on Free Throws... So stop being a hater and blaming Kobe every time the lakers lose. When they win its "Lakers win." When they lose its "Kobe shot them out of the game.." get outta here with that nonsense..

Also apparently, Kobe is better than Jordan? wtf? In my opinion, yes. And its not an absurd comparison... at all.

And Deron Williams > Chris Paul... sorry.. he is.

Kobe isn't the best player in the league. Maybe the best shooter or something like that but he isn't a team player.

You must not watch basketball very much do you?

I think the key to this will be Rashard/Hido. Especially Rashard because unless the Lakers go small, they will have difficulty matchup wise with him.

Orlando in 7 (maybe 6)

I know this is old and all but scoring 81 points by yourself out of 122 isn't what I would call team work :T

I would call Kobe a team player. Has anyone been watching the playoffs, especially the last few games? Kobe isn't a team player? What?

BTW,
I know this is old and all but scoring 81 points by yourself out of 122 isn't what I would call team work :T

If someone is that hot in a game they should get the ball every time down the floor. Especially if it's Kobe.

And Deron Williams > Chris Paul... sorry.. he is.

Agreed. Deron Williams could be just as offensive as CP3, but Jerry Sloan has a system where he doesn't need to be. And Williams is a stud on defense.

Lakers in 6. Lakers win the first 3, Magic win 2, and Lakers seal it.

I like the fact that I'm labeled a homer when a lot of people are predicting Orlando to win a game 7 in Los Angeles.

We'll see folks.
