NCAA March Madness Thread

my bracket is stupid (big 10 bias whoo) but whatever

the way some regions are stacked and other aren't made this semi difficult so i just went with my gut and breezed through my picks

I'm not feeling this to be a year of big upsets but I do have good faith in clemson. memphis will probably choke before where I put them to lose. unc's going all the way

the only 'huge' upset i had was villanova over clemson, haha.

agree to disagree.

Kansas 85
Portland State 61

Michigan State 72
Temple 61

Xavier 73
Georgia 61

Though the final score does not reflect it, the Georgia game was competitive until the very end.

I"m stunned that five out of the 11 people in this picked North Carolina to win it all! I'm proud being one of the only two people to pick a two seed to win it!

Anyway, Xavier vs. Georgia was quite a good game. It was a fairly rare case that a 14 seed put up a great game against a 3 seed, but with the roll they had in the SEC tournament, I wouldn't have been too surprised if they won today. Congrats Georgia on a truly surprising season!

You did not pick a 2 seed to win this, since Synre and I were the only two people to pick a two seed to win it. Someone else besides me picked a Texas Kansas championship but he picked Kansas to win it >:O

tad, it is probably to late, but you forgot to pick a champion at all ;_;

You got my confused with another person on there. Whoever is lukeallenswenson was the person that forgot to pick a national champion, not me. synre was the person who picked Tennessee to win it over Duke.

And I just realized that I was just looking at the main page, which only had the first 10 who signed-up and myself, not the 25 members overall. Silly mistake there.

I am spawngod316 on our bracket, and I picked Georgetown to win it all.

Edit: Also, crows_sorrow forgot to pick a winner too.

I did not confuse you with anyone; you are not 'tad', nor did I call you Synre. He and I were the ones who picked 2 seeds on the first page, but I DID make the mistake of not looking past the first page either ^_^;

Kentucky versus Marquette has been VERY exciting so far, up 10-4 originally, then Marquette up 16-10, presently 33-29 at halftime! ...unfortunately, on the actual TV, I am stuck with Baylor versus Purdue and am about to have to move away from the computer ahhhh! Picking Baylor as my biggest upset was a huge mistake!

Glad I didn't feel alone in making that mistake ^_^;

Yeah, I'm praying for this upset. I have Kentucky in the sweet 16. I seriously don't know what I was thinking at the time I picked my bracket. I also picked Baylor for an upset too, but so far, I'm not looking like a genius.

north carolina has the depth and the experience at crucial positions to go far it's pretty hard to bet against them this year

Similar to how hard to bet against Florida last year. I understand where you're getting at, but IMO, I think any of the top 8 teams have a shot at the title. And, me personally, I've watched Georgetown play more than any other team (except my Mountaineers) this season, and with the exception of the big east title game (which Pitt is hot right now), they have looked amazing this year.

Even though I don't have North Carolina in my title game, I still picked them in the final four, so that really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Almost everybody did the same pick.

[16:02:26] <MoP> marquette is going to win
[16:02:30] <bulblax> they better
[16:02:30] <MEGATRON> they better

also i'm 3 for 3 and everyone I picked is winning. go me.

How is it hard to bet against UNC? UCLA is the easiest pick to make - the only risk is whether or not Mbah a Moute comes back full force, but regardless, UCLA has the most experience and, as I mentioned before, UCLA, Tennessee, and Texas are the three teams, the SOLE three teams, with the most big game evidence supporting a chance for greatness this season!

Maybe I am missing something due to a cultural gap, but Jujuan is one of the worst names I have ever heard, and I heard that name about 30 times during the Purdue versus Baylor game so far.

Marquette 66 Kentucky 63 after a stellar off balance three for Kentucky.
EDIT: Game over, despite Kentucky's great efforts.

I thought Kentucky was going to pull it out for me, it was close.

I have no excuse for the baylor pick, though [unless they come back, then it was a good pick]

I did not see that game, but if that is a legitimate reason that Georgia lost, then it is quite sad, since we could have used some more excitement in a day of (so far) incessant routs. Stanford is up on Cornell like 14 points right now. Nothing exciting except the Kentucky versus Marquette and Georgia versus Xavier endings so far.
