It's that time of year when everyone gets to clean their slate of the chalk of the last year's various failures and unreached goals, and then run on the fumes of resulting artificial high until about mid-January which is when everybody gives up on being "perfect" anyway, right? But the first week or so is fun!

So what are you resolutions for the new year? Post them so I can express my disappointment in you in a few weeks' time. One of mine, ironically, is to not spend so much time on the internet so if you're a failure I shouldn't be rechecking this forum repeatedly lest I break my own resolution. The other two impact everything else in my life (and therefore preempt the need for further, more specific resolutions, in my opinion) and are the same as last year: practice good sleep habits and make decent social connections. I did well throughout 2007 on these as I think I could have, but there's always room for improvement. Auld Lang Syne off here.

I'm probably gonna start exercising again. I stopped after the summer and decided to concentrate more on school but that didn't really happen so i figure i can afford a half hour a day. hopefully it lasts!

I simply have resolved that I will pay off my student loans. I have until the end of next year to start making the minimum payment each month though I would rather just get it out of the way.

1) Run on average, 35km a week.
2) Qualify for Nordic Skiing OFSAA
3) 90% overall average in school.
4) Try to get 8 hours of sleep every night.

Over the past couple of years I've become so focused on achievement and gaining esteem that I've begun neglecting the lower needs of sleep and food. This has taken a toll over the past several months... so I'm going to stop ignoring those things.

Additionally, I want a 4.0 in the upcoming semester and to be rid of commitment anxiety. Oh and I want to lift weights... but I enjoy running so much more that I know I won't to it.

i will find a way to balance school, my job, working out, pokemon, sleep, a social life and a gf somewhere along the way. It most likely cannt be done as I always neglect one or two of those, but i will find a way!

My New Years resolution is to either

  1. Lose my virginity. I'm 20 fucking years old...
  2. Get drunk on my birthday ^_^. W00t 21!

get back in shape and eat better. The college diet is making my beer gut grow even mightier. No, that's not me in the Avatar...jackasses. One day though...one day.

Also I hope to meet a nice girl in one of my classes next semester. Not so much a resolution but now at least I think I'm ready for a new girl after the devastating breakup I had like 6 months ago :D

- Have a more balanced diet. I usually just make the quickest thing I can think of to eat because I want to get back to whatever I'm doing, but I would probably have more energy if I ate better.
- Get the Competitor client into a releasable state.
- Stop being reluctant to take breaks.

Cool thread.

1. Stop doing my homework in front of the comp. I could be here, on AIM, or youtube while doing homework. This hasn't been my best year (then again I am a freshman), so maybe actually having 100% focus on homework should help it.

2. Try to get guitar lessons instead of teaching myself.

3. Obligatory "EXCERSISE!" here.

4. Obligatory "girlfriend," though I thought about it and I love the freedom too.

Mine are similar to just about everyone else's...
Spend less time on the computer
Try even harder to succeed at...EVERYTHING (more specifically studying and being awesome)!

1. Do better in school
2. Try to stop being on the Internet much.
3. Stop getting Suspended in school and getting Tickets, also do better in school.
4. Respect the elder more.

So far, i think only 1 and 2 is going to happen.

1. be a better student, my grades were mediocre;
2. be better at wow!!!!!!!! (lol i think this one nullifies resolution 1)

This.

And maybe reading more books and improve my English too.

And finally start [not-so-random and interesting language] classes (Japanese, French, German, Klingon...).

I have to get back into shape before the footy season starts, so that I can be reasonably fit for Umpiring. So I guess mine is to start jogging again...

be more productive with all of this creative shit in my head. i'm planning to start producing my own electronic music if i can just get hold of some (expensive) equipment! plus i write a lot of poetry and make crappy art. i want to get better at wood/metalworking so i can start sculpting things.

exercise more is always a solid choice. i have always been pretty active but lately i've been slacking a bit, so it's time to get back on the wagon.

i want be more up-to-date on what's going on around the world i suppose.

i need to get a solid job so i can stockpile some money for university/traveling.

and of course learn more!
