For sure, I do love the special sweeper set. Reading your logs are nice to see his use is actually effective enough in this new metagame.
As I said earlier, I run the same thing as the LO special sweeper set in OU for 4th gen, although I run expert belt instead. Encourage just makes me squee with excitement to play him in 5th gen, as its pretty much running the same thing I run now... just better. :D

Only for Encourage boosted moves: Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Earth Power, Flamethrower, Rock Slide, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Shadow Ball, etc.
Venomoth/Masquerain (Baton Pass + Butterfly Dance) and Nidoking are very good friends now.
nidoking LOVES encourage. it's devastatingly powerful now on the special side. and does encourage really remove life orb recoil? god DAYUM. definitely going to be a pure force in UU, and probably a decent contender in OU (not saying it will likely be OU, i'm saying it can do well there).
If I'm understanding you correctly, yes Encourage Nidoking still takes Life Orb recoil. Mine died to its own recoil a couple times. Kind of a bummer, but I prefer having every moves boosted, not just super-effective ones, letting me smash Burungeru into the ground with Earth Power. Pun intended.

I did test nido this morning before it was implemented, and nido was p bad =/.
He was too slow to outspeed anything offensive, and is too weak to ohko defensive walls, even with super effective attacks (80% to buru, 70% to poli).

Honestly this is what I've been saying from the start. This is why I really suggest Butterfly Dance passing (if you can get 2 it's gg, but really for what isn't it gg?)

Depends on what your attacks are. Most of those Ditto will be Scarved so if you're running Venomoth for example it can only either Sleep Powder or Baton Pass away. Both Venomoth and Nidoking resist Bug Buzz and Butterfly Dance ups SpD too. Basically its stuck if you haven't slept anything yet, or if one of your mons is already asleep. In fact Lum Venomoth will ensure you can BP since all Ditto can do at you is try to Sleep Power or else BP the boosts elswwhere to another mon you can Sleep.
^^thats not exactly what I mean, what I'm saying is what if ditto switches in on Nidoking after he gets the boost and maneges to kill something so ditto can come in and revenge kill(or sweep, it depends on the move the opponent uses)
Ditto doesn't get epic Life Orb to stack onto the Encourage, though, so it won't be as great of a threat.
Although Encourage primarily boosts Special attacks, I'm going with a Physical Nidoking in Gen V. It's capable of being an amazing wallbreaker, abusing a Base 92 ATK with Life Orb and Encourage boosts.

the problem with Physical Nidoking is that it's weak. half of its moves are not boosted by encourage; on the flipside, nearly all of its special movepool in general is boosted by encourage and most of the moves have a 90+ base power. thus I don't really see the value in a physical set when you can run the same exact type moves, bar sucker punch, off of a slightly lower attacking stat.
I use a Special Scarf Set and have been getting great results using as a pseudo-sweeper or revenge killer.

Why the hell wouldn't you use Megahorn on a Claw Sharpen set? :0 It's more powerful AND more reliable than Sucker Punch (sans priority, of course) and its iffy accuracy is FIXED by Claw Sharpen. Seems like a no-brainer to me...
CS Mixking should be primarily physical, IMO, with a move like Thunder or Fire Blast around to surprise Skarmory. I say mash the two CS sets together, with like CS + EQ + Head Smash/Rock Slide + Megahorn / Fire Blast / Thunder.
This thing is such an asshole. If it gets passed any speed, it can more than likely sweep any one of my standard offense teams. I really hate anti-metgaming, but with all of these looming new threats, I keep wishing I had a Chansey or Azumarill on my team. lol
But really, lol @ the idea of countering Nidoking. Who would've ever thought it'd have to come down to this?
There are slower Pokemon who've attempted SD sets in the past, like Heracross, but his main objective was to break walls, something he was very successful at with his 125 base Att and awesome dual STABs. Nidoking won't be doing that anytime soon at +1 and 95 base Att.

Btw, the main reason you want Sucker Punch is priority. Don't ever try to sweep with a base 85 Speed Pokemon and no priority or Speed modifier. Boosting just makes it worse; something faster's going to come in and force you out right away. Either you go all-attacker or get some priority.
