just so you know you can hold down select or start while the game loads to have it in original res (the screen looks smaller because the 3ds has more pixels on the screen than the ds, but it isn't blurry. this is how I prefer to play it)

Yeah, I knew that already, but it still doesn't satisfy me, having played on a
DSi for quite some time, I was expecting a quality compareable to that. Oh well.

Posting to say that I got my lovely money back, and used it to purchase Ghost Recon which so far looks like a promising little turn based strategy game. I also bought the Donkey Kong gameboy game and it is a fantastic platform puzzler that I can't believe I never played before.

So don't forget guys, get that money back.

Gonna go this weekend for reimbursement, though I hope they don't give me money back through gift card, as I partially payed with a gift card.

Welp living in a developing country makes it hard to actually get a reimbursement

ended up paying far too much, but at least i get some free games

salty that i forgot about the reimbursement thing until now... guess i will just buy a good bundle deal when the holidays come around

Just received this info on the eShop News section:

"During the week of August 15th, Nintendo will launch a website that will allow customers to enter their Nintendo 3DS serial number to check their Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Program eligibility. Once the website is live, you will receive a message with the link."

Followed by usual info about the games etc.

For those with the 3DS, is it worth buying? I haven't been really into Nintendo lately, (got back into my Xbox) but should I get this?

Really the only things I would get are OoT3DS and enevitable Pokemon games.

Well I must tell you, I REALLY enjoyed OoT3DS even though I had beaten it at least 10 times already, so that's one thing. StarFox64, Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D will also be available soon. And there's Pokedex3D, which is free and pretty nice.

So yea, I'd say its worth buying.

Wait until there's a game you really, really want to play. I like it as a console, but I made the mistake of buying a PSP around launch and never playing it because the game I wanted to play came out years and years later. The price is more reasonable now though. (By the way, Pokédex 3D is no reason to buy a console)

Look up the games library, find out their release time. A lot of good games are coming out around holiday season / Q1 2012. Nintendo's E3 2011 site is still up and has a lot of trailers for their first-party titles.

Yeah, Jumpluff hit the nail on the head; I don't play my 3DS much at all and definitely not the one game that I bought with it; my thought was that I would get Ocarina of Time or Icarus when those come out, which was unfortunately a lot later than a lot of us would have wanted.

Oh well, I bought it and I'm not going to return it anytime soon because its a good handheld, there's no doubt about that.

i prefer having the tech beforehand just in case cool shit DOES happen early and you won't be rushed into buying it later; with the ambassador program i guess that happened way earlier than i imagined

i say get it, play through OoT3D and master quest, then build up your DS library and wait for the new shit to come out, because there's tons of great stuff coming out and i'm sure there's more on the way

All you need now are two or three good games and the 3DS will have a decent foothold in the handheld market. As it is, it's still shaky.

I bought my 3DS on ebay for a real good price before the price drop, so I did not lose that much. I was wondering why they were doing that ambassador program though. It seemed weird that they would just give you free games, but now it makes sense. :]

Is anyone else just extremely annoyed with the vapid piece of feces that is the 3DS shop?

It must be the most unintuitive system I have ever seen, the categories are largely arbitrary and frustrating. I’m not sure why a simple port of the dsi one wasn’t possible since that one could be better navigated.

I’m also annoyed that the point system has changed. I have never liked companied forcing their own point system because you always get left with $1.50 or something dumb, but with putting on real money and then getting taxed through the game. I now have $0.49 on my 3DS. Point cards won’t even be put in place until October in Canada, I’m not sure about elsewhere but I look forward to how they plan on selling them since the tax is already in the store.

Also dsi points can’t be transferred give me a break.

With the insane holiday lineup, I expect it to be pushing in-fucking-sane numbers in December if it's doing that much now.

I agree with Layell about the eShop though. The arbitrary categories suck dick. Also I tried searching for SOMETHING a while back and the search was fucked up real bad. I think it was Shantae.

Tax is dumb. Just use a Portland zip code, though, and you can circumvent it easily.

Sadly, I loaned out my 3DS to a good friend and fellow Zelda-maniac, so I can't check e-Shop stuff at the moment. Though if you haven't bought Link's Awakening DX, someting is wrong with you. That game is really good; it has a wit and charm like no other Zelda. And it's 6 dollars. Also, what the fuck is Nintendo Video? Shitty videos that get replaced weekly? Not worth space on my SD Card.

Well I'm definetly going to wait for this now, with the announcement of a second model coming soon.

It's just a rumour mind you, but still, a redesign is inevitable anyway, so I'm just gonna wait for one.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT
FUCK NOW I KIND OF HAVE TO DO IT
AND I HAVE TO DECIDE TODAY
AND I HAVE TO TYPE IN ALL CAPS

Why would Nintendo tone down the whole 3D stuff all of sudden, especially now that the sales are through the roof? That doesn't make sense.

A redesign was to be expected since the beggining - just think of what happened to the DS.

I say, buy them now they are cheap.

Considering how shitty the DS lite was physically (i personally LOVE my ds lite but the l/r buttons not working and the hinge just broke... :/) I'd say just buy the original 3DS instead of some overpriced clone that ends up breaking in a week or so.
