Man, looking at the new analog stick makes me want to puke. It screams Sega Genesis add-ons.

Also lol @ the arab stuff still in the topic title.

man that thing look ugly like REALLY i like ONE analog stick in fact that would make games like SSIV enen harder to play

i wont buy that shit shit is nasty nasty

right, because the game comes with one

Yes it does but at an additional $20. While I did buy Sports Resort in the hopes that many more games would have that would be fun to play, sadly it seems that just minigames would support it.

Another good example would be the wireless adapters that came with fr/lg. Anyone remember what other games supported that thing? Dare I even mention the E-reader which had the only use of the Eon event to get the spare Lati.

So yes as Snkz said handhelds just shouldn't have attachments and they won't work very well.

so the 3ds is 179$ right now at Target, pretty fucking good imo.

The red is the best looking one i feel.. and my gf and i plan on picking one up.

they have a "buy starfox get 1 3ds game 1/2 off"

but i really dont know what games are the best to buy.. Zelda looks interesting.. but when i was playing the demo at the store.. it seemed a little 'iffy' and im not sure about any other games. PES 11? NINTENDOGS???

But seriously, any recommendations?

Zelda is a great game to get. If you feel that it is not your thing than try ssf4 or dead or alive dimensions. There's also resident evil the mercenaries (although I heard it has some bugs) and maybe cubic ninja.

I think I finally got SSFIV 3D working online now, kinda a plus (holy fuck why is everyone robot Zangief in quick matches)

Hoping I'll pick up Starfox 3DS this weekend

I liked the announcements. While nothing new really happened (MH4?), we got some nice announcements on games that are coming out. I'm probably most excited for Kid Icarus. Mario Kart and SM3DL look great, but honestly it is more of the same from them. Even though I will sink tons of hours into all of Mario Kart's modes and most likely do the same with the latter, I can't wait for a "new" IP.

The Slide Pad thing looks ridiculous. If it's cheap and used on a decent amount of games, then I will get it, but it is by no means a day 1 purchase. If it comes bundled with Monster Hunter 3G or MH4 then I will end up getting it.

I'm waiting for a price drop on Star Fox. I have a copy of the original, so I'm, in no rush to buy. Once the holiday rush dies down and I need something to keep me busy through the summer then I will get it. Same with Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked.

Link's Awakening DX is a fantastic game, anyone who has six bucks to blow should definitely pick it up. It has great gameplay, but what really sets it apart is the charm it has. It has a charm that no other Zelda can really claim -- of course OoT has its great characters, LA:DX makes up for its graphical inadequacy with great charm. Even though it's a gorgeous game, it's not gorgeous in the way that OoT is. Actually, inadequate is not the right word; it has the best graphics for 2D Zelda outside of LttP, brilliant sprite graphics. But it wanted to do more (e.g. look like Lttp) and it made up for it with the brilliant writing. What I mean to say is that it's fucking awesome.

so Nintendo is either merciful or retarded! either way i feel a ton better. probably not going to pick up starfox

also it doesnt matter how many times you have bought oot you should shell out at least one more time for the 3ds version, i promise it is worth it

The Attachment requires a battery and also adds 4 (or was it 3? Pictures of it were confusing) more buttons to the system.

It adds the new analog stick, a new R button and new R2 and L2 buttons if I'm not mistaken, so 3 new buttons and a replacement R1

My wishlist for 3DS suddenly includes a lot more games.

Munster Hunter 3G and Monster Hunter 4 will be fantastic, but one of my friends said that Capcom doesn't plan to release Monster Hunter games outside of Japan any more. I really hope this isn't true as Monster Hunter Tri on Wii was one of the few games I've enjoyed for a while. I'll be gutted if we don't get either of them.

I loved Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, it's a close runner for my favourite game of all time. I'm so glad to see that Paper Mario 3DS has reverted back to the turn-based battle system. Super Paper Mario on Wii was good, but nowhere near the Gamecube version and I think this game will be the one that makes the best use of 3D.

Super Mario 3D Land looks amazing - I always love my Mario platformer no matter what. Lots of people will say it's the same game re-hashed, they might be right but it never, ever feels that way. After playing every main series Mario game I just know this will be a masterclass as well. This is probably the next game I'll buy, looking forward to it.

I also can't wait for Mario Kart 7. I personally have taken more of a liking to Mario Kart since the DS version, online play was much-needed for this franchise. I also preferred the controls of the Wii version (not with the steering wheel), although I'd imagine I'm in a minority on this. It'll be a solid game and the longevity the online brings makes this game worth purchasing for any 3DS owner.

I never played the original Luigi's Mansion, but I'm really interested in Luigi's Mansion 2. I probably wouldn't buy this on release either way, as I'd like to get some opinions first. I'll have to ask people whether I should really play the original first, or not need bother. Although, if anyone has played the original, should I just get it anyway?

I was also interested in Fifa 12 but it has no online. I can't understand why not, so I won't be buying it. I probably would have bought Starfox if it had online multiplayer as well.

The original Luigi's Mansion is actually really good. The sad thing is that the storyline is so short that its kinda pathetic. However, the replay value is astonishingly great and it's fun to go around the house looking for money.

tl;dr, GET IT.

Edit:
Just noticed I used the word "sad" twice within the same context of a sentence, boy is that sad.

Zelda is one of the best game on the market today, it's fun x)

Me too, snaking made the game boring

Agreed with this, but if you don't want to play it for whatever reason I imagine it'll be fine to play LM2 still. If you have some kind of system that can play it, it's probably cheap enough and easy to pick up preowned, and since it's too short, it's not a massive time investment.

I really thought that Nintendo released Luigi's Mansion on Wii in the New Play Control line-up, but it appears they didn't. Seems like a mistake to me xD I can probably find it for £10 or less, so I might give it a try. I still have all of my Gamecube stuff. I'm sure we won't see Luigi's Mansion 2 until at least Q1 2012, probably Q2, so I have plenty of time :)

Picking up OoT and Monkey Ball later today, so excited ^_^

I've spent £150.30 in total now... Didn't budget for this when I moved out. But I suppose the only other games that I'll get will be MK3DS and Pokemon.

FUCK YEAH LUIGI'S MANSION 2 i don't care if it was short/just a demo i'll be buying the shit out of this one

i only have zelda + monkey ball atm myself (neither of which i play with the slider on at all :X it's too much effort to maintain position to see properly on a worthwhile degree of 3D) but i guess i'll buy a couple of other games by christmas

I haven't been motivated to post here but here it goes. I got the 3DS on the release day and I've loved it, it's fantastic and I don't see it being replaced in the near future. Everyone talks about how lowering the prices means that we got cheated for buying it earlier, but that's a fallacy of sorts because it implies that nothing was gained from using the console before the price drop. For example: You buy a DVD at $20 and you watch it 3 times with friends and let your neighbors borrow it, thereafter the price goes to $15. If you were to say "You got shorted for buying it at $20", you are essentially saying "Watching that movie 3 times with your friends and letting your neighbors borrow it wasn't worth $5" which is a really odd ideology

its all about whether people consider being able to play it for a few months and getting a couple of roms is worth the 80 bucks

If the launch pool was a bit better, I don't think anyone would've had an issue

Like, actually making good use of your 3DS for those first months.
