--------------------------------------

I am not very good at building teams. I can say it with certainty. As you know, the basic of building a team is to focus on winning as its primary goal. While other battlers focus on this and build teams, I cannot. Though I do not know why, if I build a team around the Overused pokemon and try to use it, it fails horribly every time. The only teams I have had moderate success with are the ones with some penalties or strange themes attached to them, such as my mono-ice team, or the one with every pokemon donning Choice Band Explosion. This is yet another such strange team, and unlike some other attempts of mine, I would really like to improve it, and I need smogon's help. This time, the theme is to have absolutely no attack moves on any of the pokemon used.

--------------------------------------

Smeargle (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Destiny Bond
- Trick
- Spore
- Stealth Rock
This is a generic leading smeargle, using Trick to force a choice scarf onto an opposing pokemon, and perhaps put the switch-in to sleep. Stealth Rock is to be used next, as all passive damage is helpful for a team like this. Destiny Bond is there to take out a highly offensive pokemon, though admittedly it works a little less effectively with the 252 HP EVs included, but Destiny Bond is not Smeargle's only job.

Froslass (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 Spd
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Trick
- Taunt
- Spikes
- Destiny Bond
This Froslass is supposed to Trick and cripple another pokemon, and then put Spikes out in the opponent's field afterwards. It can Taunt pokemon before they Taunt Froslass, and Destiny Bond is there again to take out another pokemon, if possible.
dpffb197.png

Umbreon (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP/164 Spd/92 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Mean Look
- Baton Pass
- Wish
- Taunt
Umbreon is here to pass Mean Look to either Froslass for Spiking purposes, or to Jumpluff for it to start its stalling combo. Wish is there as team support, as the main idea of this team is to outlast my enemies. Taunt is generally filler, but it does help somewhat against pokemon trying to set up. However, it has not been very useful in my battles, and it would be great if my Umbreon could be improved to become a large asset to my team, or if necessary, replaced with a better pokemon.
dpffb189.png

Jumpluff (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 184 Def/252 Spd/72 SDef
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Encore
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
- Sleep Powder
Jumpluff's primary mission on this team is to stop potential sweepers. It has a few methods of doing so; if the pokemon isn't asleep already or crippled somehow, it can put it to sleep using Sleep Powder. Secondly, if it has a chance to, it can put a Substitute up and Leech Seed to death. Encore is there to cripple a pokemon that tries to set up or something. It has no HP EVs to maximize Leech Seed, according to Smogon's analysis.
dpffb142.png

Aerodactyl (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Roar
- Whirlwind
- Sleep Talk
- Rest
When Spikes and Stealth Rock are up, Aerodactyl can use Sleep Talk while asleep to Roar or Whirlwind before my opponents can do anything, and thus emulating "attacking" this way. Rest is there because it seems like a bad idea to rely on an opponent's sleep move to do the job.
dpffb073.png

Tentacruel (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Rest
- Toxic Spikes
- Confuse Ray
- Acupressure
This is here to use Toxic Spikes for the most part. Acupressure and Confuse Ray were added recently to make it a true staller while Toxic Spikes eats away at the opposing pokemon. There is not much to say about this other than that. It uses Toxic Spikes. I have considered Attract over Confuse Ray due to its larger amount of PPs, but some people choose to make all their pokemon female to avoid Attract, so it might become a useless move against such an opponent.
Now, please, help me with this. Please believe me when I say that I am posting this team for it to be improved, and not to troll or mock the team raters. All criticism is welcome, including "this team sucks" as long as it has some reason attached to it.

Thank you for your help.

um, no, this team get owned by taunt. Ever heard of that?
I know ur making and entry hazard team, but that's just an inferior stall team.
The team cannot be helpped, It has to be rebuilt all over.

Sorry dude.

*Nothing about "this team sucks"! yay me!

BTW, themed teams are not good, but a team centralizing around a certain strategy is good. Like a bp team that focus on baton passing to a sweeper. Or baiting teams that bait out thing and kill it with a surprise move.

Of all the battles I've lost, not once have I ever had a problem with Taunt. Usually, the lead of a team is the one using Taunt, and if that lead is crippled, there's a good chance I can put up a fight.

This team's "strategy" is to outlast the enemy, like most stall teams.

I may have forgotten to mention this, but remember that my opponents don't know that I have no attacks.

That's very risky though. None of the pokemon you put on ur team is not bulky except for umb and tenta. So a really heavy sweeper like mence or gyra can easily sweep it right after it get 1 DD, because aerodactyl isn't fast enough to pull off the phaze even if it was through sleep talk. Once aerodactyl is gone (which should be easy due to all the scizors), you have little way to force a switch.
Sleep talk only have a 66.666$ chance to use a phaze move on ur dactyl, that's another risky part.

I'd hate to play someone more than once with this team then.

So true, and there aren't that many people on the ladder, so after u battle a long time with it:

1.people know u have no attack and go all out with no worries.

2.U get bored of the long stalls.

3.(possibly the best one) People get bored of ur stall and quit when they see u. Yay free win!

Not if they are chosen by Sleep Talk. I tried it many times.

I have played like fifty games with this team and I never get bored of stall. Really, any constructive criticism out there?

It's kinda hard to suggest anything since you opt for a team with no attacks. Maybe...

One of the Rotom Appliances?

Rest
Sleep Talk
Will-O-Wisp
Reflect/Light Screen
nature: Calm
Evs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SpD

But alot of common sweepers can shut this team down. DDers like T-Tar/Dragons/Gyarados are the main problems as dragons with outrage can ohko or 2ohko most of your pokes after a dance and TauntGyara/ shuts this team down no doubt.

Subbers can also be an annoyance to this team(well what isnt?) Though not common.. After a Rock Polish, T-Tar and Rhyperior especially can shut this team down.

Umbreon is nothing but set up fodder btw.

This is a good team by someone who isnt a clone like all the rest of you. Dont criticize for thinking outside the square. Its a nice change from every unoriginal scizor team running around.
kudos dude. at least you can think for yourself rather than copy everybody elses overused to the death teams.

Aren't we all a clone? We use identical movesets because most of those are keys to success. This fellow topic starter here wants to win.

But i see that this team aint going much. No attacks just doesnt cut it. No pokemon metagame could survive without any attacks.

You get points for originality. It's nice to see someone other than me trying to be original.

However, aside from the aformentioned weaknesses, if anyone were to come in with a Magic Guard Clefable on nearly anything in that team, you would lose...

If they can somehow trap it, anything with Suction Cups, or anything that can use ingrain faster than Aerodactyl will completely wall it, and KO it.

Every single thing on this team has a major flaw that you fail to solve with any of the remaining members. I would suggest that you add in at least one team member that can attack, to bring in for emergencies...

Also: Yes, taunt eats your team whole. I've seen taunt on WAY more than just leads...

god, everybody in this thread is being an ass to everybody else, it's not the best team but it's fun to use, but everybody else isn't a looser for using more conventional teams, everybody stop being so gay

Gimmick but here's a small bit of advice:

You mine as well use all minus Attack natures to reduce confusion damage.

If your foe ever reads this RMT and has a Taunt user... well you're pretty much useless. Though it is a good effort.

I'd give your team a more stallish nature at this point. Maybe Sub Seed Breloom or Sceptile aswell? Hippowdon or Abomasnow thrown in?

Honestly, any Grass/Posion type can pretty much just come in and sit there for awhile. Aerodactyl gets hit hard by Energy Ball and Leaf Storm so shouldn't be problem.

Very interesting...

As much as I like this team as a creative idea, this team is utterly walled by bulky Pokemon such as Cresselia and Suicune particularly. Additionally, opposing Phazers such as Skarmory, and said Suicune pose problems. I don't see this team racking up many wins sadly =/.
