Lateralus - Tool

I've been listening to Tool for the past 2-3 months, and I've realized how good they are since then. They quickly climbed up through my personal favourites. =)

Sabaton - Firestorm

Power metal... album is about historical wars. Many quotes from Sun Tzu are featured, and many songs deal with WWII lyrically. The vocalist is pretty manly as well (though the band is still synth heavy).

Brand New - The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows

This is some pretty damn excellent... what is it, actually? DM help me out here. I think it's kind of post-hardcore meets pop punk meets "alt rock"

...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - Another Morning Stoner

Very energetic song. The entire album is pretty boss, I've been wearing it out in recent times.

megadeth - five magics

the guitar solos are insane, and I don't mean like wOw InSaNe, it's like they are the product of Dave Mustaine being a fucking crazy man. This whole song is heavy, but flows real well at the same time and you don't know if the guitar leads are the result of sloppy playing or just strange because of all the exterraneous notes that are somehow in there; it's like reading a really long runon sentence that is technically grammatically correct but causes you to look at it strange because nobody writes sentences stupidly like that and gets away with it. Megadeth is the only band I know that can do shit like that
