I love this. I don't even know what genre this is but I'd describe them as really chill electronica. The melody and the beat are both really relaxing. This is definitely the kind of music you'd wanna go to sleep to. I think I like Thievery Corporation more though.

I used to be in love with Thievery Corp. Haven't bothered with them lately though- don't know why. Lebanese Blonde is an outstanding and relaxing piece of music.

N.Y. State Of Mind by Nas

Ok so I'm not too huge on rap but Illmatic gets credited a lot. So, I decided to download the album (hi, i'm a cheap prick) and give it a listen.

Meh, first impression is nothing spectacular. My hopes were insanely high because I can enjoy good rap but it seems like this is mediocre stuff. I haven't bothered getting into the lyrics yet though. I have a feeling that I've barely touched the skin of this album and it will reveal a whole lot more when I can make myself look into it. After all, I enjoy rap only when the lyrics are good and I can't get a full view of the lyrics until I can read them.

Yeah, Illmatic is all right. I agree with you on rap only being interesting if the lyrics are up to par.

Queen - March of the Black Queen

The Queen thread in here in Renaissance inspired me to listen to some their work I haven't heard in ages. Its very catchy if not anything else, although I think it is quite a bit more than that.

Gorod - Chronicle from the Stone Age

For a death metal song, this isn't very heavy. Still one of their better songs, though.
 
Primus - Wynona's Big Brown Beaver

I don't actually know Primus beyond this song, if anyone has an album recommendation, shoot! Seriously, this song is so amazing, this band's bassist is a beast, he makes hard rhythms look easy, too easy.

Bow Wow - Roc The Mic

Not much to say about this except the relaxing instrumental beat combined with the lyricism makes this song one of my favorite.
 
Modest Mouse - The Moon & Antarctica (yes the entire thing)

I've been listening to mouse for a while, and this is definitely one of their best albums, although I still can't pick one album as the best.
As far as this album goes, Dark center of the universe, is the best imo.
 
The Mars Volta - Drunkship of Lanterns

At first I was scared of these guys for a bit since I wasn't too keen on ATDI's stuff (silly I know), but I checked out De-Loused in the Comatorium, and I was blown away by tracks like this. Can't believe I held off of these guys for so long.
 
Sequioa Throne by Protest The Hero

As for what comes to mathcore being great, I think Protest The Hero is a pretty nice candidate. I absolutely love the guitar work and drum fills. I always thought I wouldn't like them but I've been listening them to quite a lot now that I made myself listen to them. Kezia is better so far in my opinion than Fortress, which is regarded as a good album.
