Klaxons - Forgotten Works

Yeah, I'm enjoying Klaxons, it's really awesome.

Myths of the Near Future is a great album to listen to!

8.5/10

I personally don't enjoy Interpol's new album as much as I'd like to...I'd say it's easily their worst. Turn on the Bright Lights had the best atmosphere out of them all and was packed full of vocal/guitar hooks. Antics was slightly weaker in the same aspects but still a great album. This album however is really dull at times...not even close to as many hooks and the songwriting is pretty stale.

Brand New - Failure By Design

I downloaded a few songs from various bands I'd heard good things from...and so far I hafto say I'm not liking Brand New. This song in particular I found very typical and pop punk-ish, which isnt at all what I thought they were like. Jesus Christ was easily the best I heard, and probably the only one I actually liked. This one's just irritating...not my scene I guess.

Klaxons are actually quite good.

Classic Crime - The Fight

Classic Crime is cool because it's a christian alternative rock band. Their lyrics aren't exactly the best you could think of, but they work with most of their songs. too bad they've released only one album thus far. The Fight is my second favorite song from them, mainly because it has a pretty kickass guitar riff at one point.

!!! - Yadnus

Basicly what you notice more about the instrumental throughout the song are the drums, still, it's an ok song.

7.3/10

Kid A that Brand New song is from their first album which is full of angsty pop-punk. They really evolved in their next efforts so check out songs from those (or just the full albums).

Bauhaus - Antonin Artaud

Nice build-up with the instruments and vocals in the last minute. Overall solid song. 7/10

Klaxons - Golden Skans

Fantastic lyrics, really awesome vocals. Amazing what these guys can do with a simple guitar, drums and bass.

I personally enjoy new Interpol, Heinrich Maneuver and Pioneer to the Falls are frequently played on my iPod and it's actually soothing to listen to the album while you're driving or waiting for something.

At the Drive-In - Enfilade

This is a fun song to listen to, and is probably my second favorite song on Relationship of Command right after Pattern Against User. It's a fucked up song, that's for sure, and it seems to be about a kidnapping "hyena" stealing a "mother leopard"'s cub and asking for payment to protect the cub. I have no idea if these are just codenames or it's actually a weird animal kidnapping, but regardless the phone call you hear at the beginning tells you right away the song is going to be unlike any of the ones you heard before.

Unlike other songs, the percussion in the chorus seems to be a clapping noise, and there's an exotic influence throughout the main structure of the song. The chorus is mainly generic screaming at an awesome tune but I find most of my appeal in the instrumental parts. It's a fun song, albeit really weird.

Haha, Pioneer To The Falls is my favorite song on Interpol's new album.

Pixies - Here Comes Your Man

Pixies are great, my brother got me listening to them, awesome band from the late 80's. When I heard they were re-uniting I expected a little more than their single Bam Thwok. Rumors that they're re-re-uniting are appearing, saying they'll re-join near September '07, I hope the rumors are true, and Pixies do a little more than release just one song.

SACRIFICE ON RAILROAD TRACKS
THAT FREIGHT TRAIN'S COMIN, THAT FREIGHT TRAIN'S COMIN

God I love that song. That and Quarantined are so dynamic and gorgeous and dark, that album is one of the best in the last 10 years.

Pixies - Tame

Lol this song is... funny. Francis is screaming TAME, and when he's not he's saying some weird shit in a kind of creepy voice. The bass line in between is not only catchy, but starts up a weird singalong with him and the bassist going at the tune of the bassline, until the song leads into Wave of Mutilation. I like this song, but then again there aren't many I dislike on Doolittle except for Monkey Gone to Heaven.

8.5/10

Chin Up Chin Up - Falcons and Vulcans

I really wish i could somehow go all the way to Germany to see them play with Kevine Devine. Unfortunately that will never happen.

King Crimson - The Night Watch

This is a great song to relax to, I've recently started listening to Starless And Bible Black and so far it's being awesome, this isn't like their songs from In The Court Of The Crimson King or some from Red, it's slower, has less rhythm, but at the same time the violins are just what make this song what it is on my opinion. The keyboard is a great addition also. I really recommend this song, it's just awesome, very passionate, but very depressing.

10/10

Sugarhill Gang - Rapper's Delight

I said a hip hop the hippy the hippy to the hip hip hop you don't stop the rock until the bam bam boogie said up jump the boogie to the rhythm of the boogie the beat! 'nuff said.

Speaking of all this Interpol talk, I caught half their set on Sunday, and was actually quite impressed, even though new Interpol doesn't thrill me nearly as much as Turn On The Bright Lights did. Unfortunately I had so much going on then that I couldn't catch the whole set, but I'm glad I made sure to see at least some of it.

Black Moth Super Rainbow - Untitled Roadside Demo

I've been listening to a whole lot of Dandelion Gum, BMSR's most recent album lately. I don't know why, but I just fucking love the atmospheric and vaguely creepy sound, especially when you stop and consider that most of them are created by distorting pop hooks.

"Untitled Roadside Demo" is one of my favorites on this album, too. When I'm in the right mood, I could just listen to this song on repeat all fucking day.

Ladytron - Commodore Rock

Describing Electronica bands isn't really my specialty, because I don't know what to say about the instrumental, all I can say is that Miss Black And Her Friends was a great album, especially this song, it's probably their best one in it, but still, doesn't come close to Witching Hour, that one is probably their best album.

9/10

Sebadoh - Truly Great Thing

I like Sebadoh sometimes, they have a few great songs and then a bunch of average ones. I haven't listened to this song since October last year according to iTunes so I'm a little hazy on it, but it's not bad.
