Congratulations to Blast and his Garbodor submission.

This week, I decided to go with a core that has been pretty common on stall and even more defensively-oriented teams.

+

Bronzor @ Eviolite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Psywave
- Toxic
- Rest

Audino @ Audinite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 208 Def / 48 SpA
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Dazzling Gleam
- Wish
- Protect / Heal Bell

This core is very potent in walling a lot of powerful metagame threats as Bronzor is a fantastic Ice, Normal, and Psychic check all wrapped into a nice little package while Mega Audino provides amazing synergy with Bronzor and a powerful win condition that can also heal it back up if necessary.

Submissions end on Friday.

Magmortar @ Choice Specs
Ability: Vital Spirit
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA
- Fire Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Grass]

Magmortar is able to switch in on both Maudino and Bronzor relatively safely and 2HKOes Maudino / OHKOes Bronzor with a STAB Fire Blast

Skuntank @ Black Sludge
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 252 SpA / 108 SpD / 148 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dark Pulse
- Acid Spray
- Fire Blast
- Defog

So special skunk beats Mega Audino 1v1 with Acid Spray and Dark Pulse does enough damage to Bronzor. Both mons can't do much back either.

252+ SpA Skuntank Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Bronzor: 102-122 (32 - 38.3%) -- 96.6% chance to 3HKO

Charizard
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Roost
- Fire Punch
- Swords Dance
- Acrobatics
The stall killer and my worst nightmare, sd zard can just set up on both and doesnt fear much besides toxic from bronzor. SD fire punch destroys bronzor, megadino gets walled by zard, and its just a free set up for this mon.
+2 8 Atk Charizard Fire Punch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Bronzor: 216-254 (67.9 - 79.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
48 SpA Mega Audino Dazzling Gleam vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Charizard: 43-51 (11.9 - 14.2%) -- possible 8HKO
+6 8 Atk Charizard Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 252 HP / 208+ Def Mega Audino: 261-307 (63.6 - 74.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Steelix @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Iron Tail
- Earthquake
- Crunch
- Stealth Rock

LO Physical Steelix completely messes with this core. It can get an easy switch-in on both Mega Audino and Bronzor, and can heavily damage them both. Crunch easily 2HKOs Bronzor, and Iron Tail does around 80% to Mega Audino. Both of them can't do much back. You could also run Iron Head over Iron Tail, since you still 2HKO Mega Audino with it.
252+ Atk Life Orb Sheer Force Steelix Iron Tail vs. 252 HP / 208+ Def Mega Audino: 289-343 (70.4 - 83.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Life Orb Sheer Force Steelix Crunch vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Bronzor: 185-218 (58.3 - 68.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Mawile @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Iron Head
- Fire Fang
- Sucker Punch

Straight forward Mawile can switch safely on both of these mons as it resists all of their stabs and safely set up an SD. Its also really nice that mawile cannot be poisoned or worn down by LO.
252+ Atk Life Orb Sheer Force Mawile Fire Fang vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Bronzor: 151-179 (47.4 - 56.2%) -- 81.3% chance to 2HKO

Vigoroth @ Eviolite
Ability: Vital Spirit
EVs: 252 HP / 240 SpD / 16 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bulk Up
- Body Slam
- Taunt
- Slack Off

Pretty simple, Vigoroth outspeeds and can Taunt both of Bronzor and Mega Audino preventing status or healing, and it can set up Bulk Ups versus either of them and proceed to eventually win 1v1, albeit rather slowly.

Haunter @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Shadow Ball
- Will-O-Wisp
- Destiny Bond

Haunter wipes the floor with this core, doing huge damage to both Bronzor and Mega-Audino with its respective STAB options, while neither can really do much back outside of a high Psywave roll in Bronzor's case. Haunter is actually very interesting rn as it destroys the increasingly popular bulkier balance builds lacking a skuntank, i'd recommend giving it a shot.
252 SpA Life Orb Haunter Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Bronzor: 166-198 (52.2 - 62.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Haunter Sludge Bomb vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Mega Audino: 289-343 (70.4 - 83.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Aggron @ Choice Band
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Head Smash
- Fire Punch
- Low Kick
CB aggron does rly well versus the bulkier builds you find this core on. Between its coverage and immediate power both audino and bronzor can struggle in finding switchin opportunities. Being immune to toxic damage is huge as well since that's one way stall builds rely on racking up damage which gives aggron plenty of chances to fire off attacks.

Congratulations to boltsandbombers (rip) and Aquajetbreloom (rip the good name :x) and their submissions.

This week, I decided to go with another playstyle of sorts (similar to the Normal Spam week) and this time it is a threatening weather condition that is commonly seen during suspects due to its aggressive nature and naturally fast pace.

Rain is the most commonly seen weather in NU due to its effectiveness to be able to overwhelm its would-be checks and counters and has reliable weather setters despite the weather having its auto-weather ability, Drizzle, banned. Furthermore, most Rain sweepers have amazing offensive synergy, forcing the opponent to scramble to overwhelm these weather teams.

Submissions end on Friday.

Clefairy @ Eviolite
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 8 Def / 248 SpD
Calm Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Knock Off
- Thunder Wave
- Soft-Boiled

Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 244 Def / 12 Spe
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Toxic
- Recover
- Whatever

ok so support clefairy is a sick set that chews p well ludicolo's hits and can twave back, while gastrodon takes care of kabutops and garbodor. they can both stop a rain team quite easily, and even better if paired with other pokemon.

Garbodor (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 248 HP / 200 Def / 60 Spe
Impish Nature
- Gunk Shot
- Drain Punch
- Toxic Spikes
- Spikes

Kangaskhan @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out
- Double-Edge
- Earthquake
- Sucker Punch

KangaSpikes has an incredibly strong matchup vs rain, especially if the rain team doesn't have a Garbodor. Garbo just lays up spikes while also being able to take on Liepard and Kabutops. Kangaskhan stalls rain turns, threatens all rain abusers especially in combination with Toxic Spikes. obviously this core doesn't immediately pressure all rain teams but if you add something like Ferroseed with this core you're all good to go.

Abomasnow @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Blizzard
- Giga Drain
- Earthquake
- Focus Blast

Fighting weather with weather can be a solution to deal with Rain-teams. Scarf outspeeds all 4 wich is nice.

252 SpA Abomasnow Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Kabutops: 520-616 (199.2 - 236%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Abomasnow Blizzard vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Ludicolo: 142-168 (47.1 - 55.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after hail damage
252 SpA Abomasnow Blizzard vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Mesprit: 136-162 (37.3 - 44.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after hail damage
252 SpA Abomasnow Blizzard vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Liepard: 246-291 (91.4 - 108.1%) -- 50% chance to OHKO

Classic hazard stacking core which just stops Rain in its tracks. Ferroseed walls pretty much all rain abusers bar Superpower Kabutops and can stall out Rain turns with Protect, + smash Omastar with Bullet Seed as it attempts to set up. Garbodor whittles away at Rain in general with TSpikes, putting everything on a timer, as well as taking Knock Off's from Liepard and Superpower from Kabutops.

Choice specs mantine does a fairly good job against rain, as it can outspeed both of the primary users with a + speed nature, as they generally run + offenses, and OHKOs both with respective coverage moves (though ludicolo isn't 100% guaranteed unless you come in after a round of LO recoil). While it is part of a subset of swift swim abusers that threaten rain teams, its one of the more efficient ones due to its ability to fairly easily come in against ludicolo, and easily threaten it out.

Mantine @ Choice Specs

252 SpA Choice Specs Mantine Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Kabutops in Rain: 286-337 (109.5 - 129.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Mantine Scald vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Liepard in Rain: 367-433 (110.5 - 130.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Mantine Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Mesprit in Rain: 280-330 (76.9 - 90.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
