I don't see how Muk can work with Gligar/Espeon/Medicham/Sandslash/etc running around, but kudos to those who can use it well.

Curse sweepers are generally only really effective when they're also great pivots - like Snorlax in OU, Registeel in UU or Revenankh in CAP. What can Muk switch in on in the mid-game to justify its team slot (while still staying healthy enough to finish things later on)?

Yeah, Curse Muk isn't the greatest thing in the world, although it can [Almost] fearlessly switch in on Skuntank, and a CB/Scarfed Primeape or Medicham locked into a Fighting move.

I was just thinking, wouldnt mantine be a beast in this metagame. Outside of raichu and manetric, it resists almost all common attacks, or absorbs them with its base 140 SpD. Fire types really cant touch it due to running HP grass, and espeon doesnt do enough with any attacks, outside of HP electric, which is cast of for HP ground. Scarfape thunderpunch will KO it though.

Unfortunetly, it has a horrid movepool. Has anybody tried it out yet?

Magmortar used Thunderbolt!!

I tried it a couple times, and sad to say, it doesn't work too well within NU. It can't do junk to Quagsire and becomes set-up fodder, Pinsirs kill it with Stone Edge, as you said, Ape kills it, Tauros can kill it with Stone edge, Magmortar has T-bolt, and in general, it can't do much to the majority of physical attackers. Cradily, even outside of sandstorm, seems to work better as a special wall.

When do most matches happen? I idle on PO sometimes but I don't see you guys on there. I wanna keep up with the metagame aside from theorycraft.

Anyway, the Project NU group are planning to hold our own little Suspect Tests for NU. Smogon aren't going to bother testing NU with Black and White around the corner, so we are going to hold it off-site for the time being. These tests are not yet recognised by Smogon, but will be by PO. These will be UU style tests.

NOTE: The link goes to the Smogon group called Project NU. For more information, ask there, because I don't want to be flat out advertising the site here.

Yeah Espeon should be and Mortar and maybe *hence maybe* charizard even if rocks mess it up sandslash is such a reliable spinner so yeah. But if espeon gets voted UU wouldn't it drop back down because most people think it's outclassed by alacazam?

Maybe, but it's still quite fast and hard to take down a Calm Mind or Specs set without getting a severe wound on one of your Poke. I can definitely see Espeon being tested rather extensively.

Also, Rotom outclasses Dusknoir in OU, but Noir still sees use. It'd be the same with Alakazam and Espeon.

We are not going to stick them in UU. There will be a BL2 tier which the suspects found to be broken will be put into.

Nominations have started on the PNU forums.

Espeon can Baton Pass though, Curses to a Muk, or Calm Minds to a Magmortar

What about Compound Eyes, which its older brother Yanmega misses out on. Here we come 90% accuracy Hypnosis. Lets hope BW boosts the accuracy to 70% again

Outclassed by Venomoth?
Not necessarily, Yanma has 5 higher base speed along with Speed Boost and STAB Air Slash. Though I agree it's Special Attack is pretty pitiful and would usually use Venomoth over it for Sleep Powder and Tinted Lens and such. Compound Eyes is pretty much outclassed by Venomoth.

Venomoth does not get Compoundeyes. Venonat does, though. Yanma also doesn't have Tinted Lens, so I don't see how we can compare the two o.o

I was using a Venomoth lead of Sleep Powder / Bug Buzz / Roost / Protect @ Insect Plate with Tinted Lens. It worked pretty well.
