Chapter 7 of my HeartGold Nuzlocke is up, where one of my team members falls.

For those of you trying to Nuzlocke HeartGold, make sure that Pryce's Piloswine does not come out during Hail, or it might hax you to death with Snow Cloak. Literally.

Headed North of Jubilife and found a bunch of grunts. THE ROCK did not approve of them, so THE ROCK demolished them. :P In Ravaged Path I caught a Zubat (woo...) on Lv. 3. Headed up to Floaroma. Upon getting to Valley Windworks, I was excited! Pachirisu gets Pickup, which would be awesome! And then I run into Shellos. -_-; I send Team Rocket packing with my wonderful new Luxio, and go into Floaroma Meadow. Slathering the tree with honey, I go to bed. In the morning, I find... Wurmple. Really? OK, whatever. At least Rt. 205 gave me a Buizel. Headed into the forest.

Team:
Swoop the Lv. 16 Staravia
Totally forgot this guy got Intimidate when he evolved! Between him and Leona, no physical attacker stands a chance. XD

Leona the Lv. 16 Luxio
She's super useful now that she's got an electric attack!

Tank the Lv. 18 Grotle
Tank lives up to his name. He's already taken 6 Crits and shrugged every single one off.

THE ROCK the lv. 15 Machop
He's not as useful as the other three, mainly because too many things resist Fighting right now. Once he gets a new move his useage should pick up.

Ophelia the Lv. 10 Buizel
Haven't used a Buizel before, so I'm happy to try her out. :) She won't be much use against the next gym, though.

Munch the Lv. 4 Bidoof
Hey, someone needs to be an HM slave, right?

Boxed:
Sonar the Lv. 3 Zubat
Madam Elle the Lv. 4 Abra <- planning on taking her out once I reach the other side of the forest.
Pytha the Lv. 8 Onix
Weevil the Lv. 11 Wurmple
U Jelly? the Lv. 12 Shellos

Having two Intimidaters this early in the game is kind of broken. XD The only things I have to fear are crits and poison, and neither has been too bad so far. Swoop is probably going to solo Gardenia all by himself.

So much has changed since my last update.

Made the classic mistake in LG of going north in celucean too early. Thus, my team was demolished by charmander and pidgeotto, with beedrill being my lone survivor on 1 HP (he's shiny too!) Caught a bellsprout who smashed misty but was killed by very irritating hax on the way to vermilion. Just me an' ma beedrill again.

Later, I attempted to catch something as a SECOND member to my team. Hax said no. Beedrill was ridiculously over-levelled and smashed through all of ss anne (including chunder, my rival, suck on that charmeleon) and then ate all of vermilion gym (yes, ate). After heading East at Cerlucean,I bump into a sandshrew WHICH I ACTUALLY CATCH. In the rock tunnel now, just me, my beedrill, and a sandshrew.

Apocalypse the (shiny) Beedrill lv. 34
-Brick break
-Twin needle
-Cut
-harden

Cheeks the sandshrew lv. 14
-Scratch
-defense curl

R.I.P: waaaay too much stuff...

In defeating N I felt so much joy that it was hard to put into words. My league challenge was over, and perhaps my Nuzlocke challenge was over too. I fingered my necklace around my neck but felt nothing which I was unsure if it was a good or bad thing. I snapped out of my daze when I felt a small pressure on my leg. I looked down to see Typhoon, leaning against me and smiling. I smiled too, and then had a sudden idea. I reached into my bag and pulled out a blue sapphire which I then attached to a cord and hung it around Typhoons neck. Now we were Nuzlocke partners, bound together as friends. My work was done here, I had defeated N and his ideals and it was time to go. I turned to leave when suddenly Ghetsis burst into the room. “STOP” he ordered and I was so surprised at his sudden entry, I froze on the spot.

The old man was clearly pissed that I had crushed N and then issued a challenge. I didn’t like this, I had never seen Ghetsis battle before, however, if he was challenging me it meant that he was confident about his success. I thought back to seeing a Plasma scientist claiming that they could steal pokemon right out of a trainers box in storage and wondered if Ghetsis had augmented his team in that way. If so, this team was certain to be strong.

Ghetsis hurled a ball, and a Cofagrigus appeared. As I stared at the powerful ghost type I knew I had a fight on my hands. For Cofagrigus, calling it bulky was an understatement. The damn thing could easily wall my team to hell and back if I didn’t blast my way through it. It was a clever tactic as it forced me to use at least one of my powerhouses to defeat it which in turn meant that there was one less threat that could sweep through him. I realised that if I wanted to beat Ghetsis I was going to have to pull out all stops, which meant that all the strategies and tactics and combinations I had thought up on my journey, well, this was the time to use them. I hurled my pokeball, and Maximum appeared at my side, the mighty flying pokemon was ready to destroy something. Ghetsis smirked, confident that his ghost could absorb the hit. In truth, he was correct, as Archeops cannot normally break though Cofagrigus as fast as I would like, however, I had something special planned. Maximum ACROBATICS I ordered. Maximum twisted in the air and then flew down at top speed toward Cofagrigus. “Now Flight Gem activate!” I called and the small gem clutched in Maximums claws exploded in a flash of white light, Ghetsis’s eyes widened as Maximum ploughed into Cofagrigus with one of the strongest combination attacks in the game. Maximum soared up into the air, when suddenly a purple bolt slammed into the Archeops, which screeched in pain. Cofagrigus was still standing, although that attack had shaved off roughly 75% of its health. The trade off, was that Maximum had been slammed with a Toxic, which would weaken it throughout the battle. Maximum regained height, before flaring with ghostly light and I triumphantly realised that the ability of Cofagrigus had activated, negating the negative effects of Defeatist and allowing Maximum to reach its full potential. I felt like jumping for joy when suddenly my vision blurred and I felt sick. I swayed but regained control of my body. I suddenly felt confused, what had just happened.

Ghetsis smirked, seeing the discomfit on my face. “It hurts doesn’t it?” he asked. I glanced down and saw my necklace glowing. “That’s right”, Ghetsis remarked, “As the original designer of your necklace, I can turn on its special functions”. I suddenly felt very scared, “What special functions” I asked although I had a feeling I could guess. Ghetsis laughed “The necklace causes you yourself to feel the discomfit that your own pokemon feel, is’nt that rather fun?”

I gritted my teeth, now things were becoming clearer. I reached for an antidote in my bag but the vial of medicine crumbled to dust in my hand. Ghetsis laughed yet again “No I don’t think so, no items permitted in battle remember?” This time, all he got was a snarl in response. I was furious; my chances at winning had just dropped significantly. Now I would be battling not only Ghetsis, but the pain my body would feel the longer the battle went on. I also had a feeling that if it proved too much and I fainted, Ghetsis would hardly call of the battle and offer me tea and biscuits. For a moment I felt a wave of hopelessness, before I shook the feeling off. I was not going to bow down and lose her and now. “Maximum Acrobatics” I called. Maximum swooped toward Cofagrigus when suddenly a shimmering shield appeared in front of it, the Protect blocking the attack with ease. I winced again as I felt the Toxic poison flare up again. Ghetsis was laughing now happy at stalling for a few more turns. Maximum charged in again, and a shield appeared. This time however, it was weakened and Maximum blasted right through slamming into Cofagrigus and knocking it clean out.

Ghetsis did not appear to be annoyed at losing his first pokemon, after all, he had crippled Maximum, and by extension, me as well. I casually tossed a ball and a Bouffalant appeared. I frowned at his choice. Bouffalant was slow, but hard hitting but it was also a normal type which meant that Jenn was my best choice. Jenn faced off against the raging bull and I felt confident that Jenn could steal a Moxie boost and, from there, take out another pokemon hopefully giving me enough of an advantage that I could easily win. “Jenn, Hi Jump Kick now lets go!” I called. Jenn ran towards, leaped high, and then lashed out with its foot, driving it into Bouffalant’s skull. The bull shuddered, but somehow, remained standing, hanging on with a sliver of health. “HEAD CHARGE” Ghetsis ordered and Bouffalant charged forward, bulldozing Jenn oven a crunching blow. My necklace flashed and I folded in half, the attack also taking its toll on me, Christ it felt like I had been run over by a Mack Truck. I struggled to my feet, and saw Jenn doing the same. Bouffalant was on the ground, the recoil from its attack having finished it off. Despite being having taken down 2 pokemon, I felt no sense of victory. Jenn had not received a Moxie boost since recoil had finished Bouffalant off, and it had been crippled from the previous attack, making it too dangerous to use against anything else on Ghetsis’s team. To top it off, I knew that Ghetsis was attacking me, the trainer, rather than my pokemon. He was hurling his strongest attacks at my pokemon for the sake of hurting me more than anything. It was a cruel tactic, but currently, I had nothing on hand to stop that. Stalling would only increase the pain Toxic was causing me, so I had to remain strong and pull through.

With care, Ghetsis selected a third pokeball from his waist. He tossed it high into the air and a great, black, three headed dragon appeared. It was a Hydreigon, one of the strongest pokemon in all of Unova. I had never faced one before, but knew it could wipe out many pokemon in a single hit, and had good bulk and coverage moves. I swallowed hard, Hydreigon was going to batter me and my pokemon into submission and I was left wondering how on earth I was supposed to win now...

END OF PART ONE

Here's chapter 3 of my FireRed Nuzlocke. Here's a recap for those who need it:

3. Jerry the Lv. 22 Raticate
Boxed:

Part 9: The Man in Black and a Bunch of Random Stuff No One Cares About
As you well know (Or maybe you don't) we last saw Rogue defeating Misty. Now, he struts confidently over to the policeman guarding the door to the crime scene (You know, the house next to the Gym? Whatever, you probably don't) and casually slip him a 500 Poke Dollar. After that, he's more than willing to let me in. Yeah, I have a way with people.
There's some guy weeping in the corner about his stolen TM 28 Dig (Get over it! Dig sucks anyway), a TM you can buy at the Celadon Department Store anyway (At least I think you can buy it there...). I don't see what the big deal is, but apparently it meant a lot to the poor blubbering guy (I mean two things by that). Since I'm such a nice guy, I'll go get it back for him. And lo and behold, the man in black (And red, but we'll focus on the black because that sounds cooler). The grunt doubts my skills.
A fatal mistake.
Never underestimate the power of pigeons. Pigeons always beat snakes and weird psychic anteater things. Soon, the man in black is begging for mercy and gladly returns Dig. I don't give a crap about Dig. The grunt runs off, proabably to Canada, where Giovanni can't inflict his terrible wrath upon the pathetic little gruntie.
When I get back the the sad hiker dude, he's over it and decides just to go teach his Diglett Dig without a TM. What the!?...I did all that work for your sorry hide and you just say "Oh, it's okay"? That's not very courteous, hiker guy, and the hiker in Emerald says a hiker's motto is to help others. At least I get to keep the TM, even though Dig is crap. Oh well. Maybe I can sell it.
Now I finally have access to the next route. The route I would prefer to go on is blocked by a small tree (Why can't I just kick it over? It just looks like a twig!), so I have to go south for the winter (AKA Vermilion). This is a new route, so I can catch a new Pokemon, but I don't find anything good. Just a Pidgey. I already have a Pidgeotto that's better than that wild Pidgey could ever hope to be. Why couldn't I have found an Oddish? Looking back on it, that would've been really helpful.
There's the Day Care, but that Day Care's nearly worthless, so I ignore it. The stupid guy in the gate won't let me through because he's thirsty (All these government workers who won't let me pass because they're thirsty! That's bad courtesy [These people could take a lesson or two from Gallade]). So I must skip over Saffron and take the Underground Tunnel over to Vermilion. There isn't much in there (AKA NOTHING), so I hastily make my way outta there.
I'm on yet another new route, but there I don't find anything worth my while either (I think it was a Pidgey, but I don't really remember anymore). At least there's Trainers and items. And I think there I find the first fully evolved Pokemon not owned by either me or a Gym Leader. No one is allowed to have evolved Pokemon besides me, not even the Gym Leader (Look what happened to Misty. Her Starmie got rabies). I must kill it!
And finally, I'm in Vermilion...the city of whatever Vermilion is the city of.
Part 10: The Titanic's Titanic Twin Anne
Vermilion, in my world, is known for three things: One, its ever-helpful dock, and two, the incredibly annoying senile Chairman of the Pokemon Fan Club (I mean, what part of this isn't annoying?: "Yes, I'm the chairman. I hear other chairmen give you Rare Candies, but I won't. How about I tell you about my Rapidash instead? It's so cuddly, and...blahblahblah...What were we talking about again? Oh, yes, my Rapidash. It's so cuddly, and...", and three, the densest Gym Leader in Kanto: Lt. Surge. Who would be retarded enough to set up an Electric Gym next to a cave full of Ground Pokemon? Seriously...but then, I hear war does that to you.
I don't care about any of the people here, so I go on to the cave of the most disturbing Pokemon in all of Pokemon:
Diglett Cave.
Home of the hot dogs (Or whatever you would like to think of them as) that randomly pop out of the ground. Tell me that's not creepy. Actually, don't. Whatever. I may as well catch one, since it'll be my only chance against Surge and Digletts are pretty fast. I find one (No way!) and catch it. I decide to name it Van Dyke. It has an okay nature (Lax). I guess it could be worse. Could be Quiet.
As I leave Diglett Cave, I realize two things: One, I never got the Town Map from Daisy. Two, I never got Flash from the Aide. The former I can do nothing about, but I can still go back and get Flash. I begin the grueling trek back through the cave, warding off hot dogs (Again, whatever you want to think of them as) with Ewan since he is immune to Arena Trap.
I get the HM, and go back through the cave. I get onto the route to the east of Diglett Cave, and start training up Van Dyke. He's itching for some fights, and this is the perfect place to get some.
This is all I have to say about Van Dyke. Early on, Diglett+Magnitude=Total pwnage. Not even...well, there's nothing notable there besides Magneton (That was a sad fight, though. All Van Dyke got was Magnitude 4 and 5), but even that isn't all that amazing.
With Van Dyke up to level 22, he's ready to take the SS Anne by storm.
SS Anne is filled with odd people. Seasick people (And their inevitable byproducts), obese people, and just plain old disturbing people. Take Gary, for example. He claims to have caught 40 different Pokmeon already, but I think he's lying. I don't think you can even find that many Pokemon yet. Correct me if you actually took the time to figure it out, but I don't think you can. He's eager to challenge me with his horde of Magikarp impersonators, and Van Dyke (Now a Dugtrio) easily destroys them all. Except Pidgeotto. We had to bring in the big guns for it.
Unfortunately for us, however, the magnitude of Van Dyke's incredibly powerful Magnitudes cracked the ship's hull and it's begun to sink. I ditch Gary and sprint up to the seasick captain (How sad is that? A captain with seasickness). I, personally, find this guy perverted. I just meet this old guy barfing, then he asks me to rub his back. If that happened in real life, I'd change my name and move to Canada ('cause Canada is awesome!). But noooo. The dictatorship of Pokemon forces me to rub this perv's back so he can give me Cut. With Jerry's purpose in life as my HM Slave renewed, I get off the ship just in time, as it sinks into the harbor, never to be seen again...until HGSS.
Part 11: Vermilion Gym
This is hardly even worth writing about, as Van Dyke owns everyone in the Gym. But I guess I have to.
I'd encourage you to read the official FireRed Nuzlocke comics, in this case, the ones in Vermilion. It gives some hilarious insight into Surge's army career.
One thing I must say is, what kind of sick person makes you dig through garbage cans so you can battle them? Besides Surge and certain other people. You know who they are.
Van Dyke treats all the Trainers in the Gym like a joke, and OHKOes all of them. Finally, I get to Surge, who says some nonsense about jolting his enemies into paralysis in the war (Just battle me already! I don't care about your pixelated personal life!), then he finally accepts my challenge.
This should be quick. Van Dyke really goes all-out for this one.
Lt. Surge sends out Voltorb! Van Dyke uses Magnitude 9! Voltorb fainted. Lt. Surge sends out Pikachu! Van Dyke uses Magnitude 10! Pikachu fainted. Lt. Surge sends out Raichu! Van Dyke uses Magnitude 10! Raichu fainted. Rogue defeated Lt. Surge! Lt. Surge fainted.
Completely Unnecessary Apologies
I apologize for the crappiness of my last update. I must have had too much sugar or something, because that was really weird and awful (At least in my opinion). And I'll stop asking you guys to comment and stuff, because this isn't YouTube and no one does that here. Whatever. I doubt anyone cares anyway.
This was a bit quicker-written than my last two updates. I've been pretty busy and hard-pressed for time, but I managed to get this up. So next time we'll rejoin Rogue as he beats some crappy Trainers (Namely Team Rocket and Erika).

I managed to just get out of Mt Moon without loosing anyone... Birkal got poisoned by the Maniac at the end's Koffing. I managed to get to Cerulean with Birkal on 5HP! Glad it has a nice HP stat now. I risked grabbing Mega Kick for Mos too while I was on that route.

Beat Blue at Nugget bridge (After NOT going North until I was absolutely ready) and then proceeded north to train before fighting Misty. Caught an Oddish (f yes) and called it Quanyails :D It will be a great help in later battles. Still heading to Bill's house at the moment so I can finish training thee guys up a little more. Should be able to take on Misty soon. And I'm pretty comfortable in regards to levels and the like. I've kept Route 24 clear for a water catch later on if need be. Just need the Fly HM now.

Platinum Nuzlocke!

As you probably guessed by the title, I'm starting a Platinum Nuzlocke as well as my FireRed Nuzlocke. This will be written in more of a story format than FireRed is, so it'll be a bit different. I'm using pretty standard rules, but I will catch Giratina even though I won't use it. I'll just box it immediately.

Prologue: Shadows Lengthen
Footsteps rang through the halls of the Team Galactic Headquarters as an old man rushed to the meeting room. He was late, and it was vital for the meeting to proceed on schedule.
As he reached the meeting room, the Grunt guarding the door blocked his access, questioning his identity.
"Who are you? I haven't seen you around here before. Do you have an ID?" The Grunt inquired.
The old man quickly flashed an ID card, and the Grunt nodded. "All right, sir. I'll get the door open." The Grunt jabbed a finger at a small red button, and with a hiss the door slid open.
Four people sat around a brightly polished table. One of them, at its head, said, "Ah, Charon, you've arrived! I was beginning to wonder if you'd ever show up. Please, take a seat."
Charon nodded and took a seat to the man's right.
A young women with striking red hair stood up and blurted, "Who are you? You're not one of our Commanders! This is a private meeting! Get out of--"
The man rebuked her, "Calm down, Mars. This is Commander Charon, a scientist distinguished for his accomplishments regarding the Plasma Pokemon Rotom. Accept him. He will be a valuable...asset to our plot."
Mars sat down, though her hands remained clutched in fists.
The man continued. "Let's introduce ourselves to Charon, shall we? The woman who so rudely questioned you is Commander Mars. Across from her sits Commander Jupiter."
A woman with bright purple hair tied back in a bun smiled at Charon, though there was no warmth in it.
"And to Jupiter's left is Commander Saturn."
A blue-haired man nodded in acknowledgement.
"And finally, as you know, I am Cyrus, head of Team Galactic. We are here to discuss the culmination of all our efforts. Today, we will set in motion the plot that will change the world forever. A world as we see fit. A world without pain, suffering, and pitiful human emotions," he said.
"So," Cyrus continued, "First, we must capture Professor Rowan. His evolutionary research will help us obtain the energy we need to form the Red Chain. Saturn, send two of your Grunts to abduct the elusive professor. Should they fail, you, Mars, will lead the second phase of our plot. You know what to do."
Mars nodded grimly.
Cyrus laughed. "Yes...yes...the Master of Time...the Ruler of Space...soon. Soon they will return to form a new world...a world controlled by Team Galactic!"
Chapter 1: A New Adventure
"'Pokemon are at our side, always. I hope you understand the meaning of these words.' That concludes our special program, 'Let's Ask Professor Rowan!'"
Another day, another program. Little else to my life here in Twinleaf Town.
"Rogue! Rogue! Did you see the TV just now. Duh! Professor Rowan's back from Kanto!"
...and then there's Barry. My best friend always seems to barge impatiently into people's homes and then run away just as quickly.
I roll my eyes, and ask, "So? What's that have to do with us?"
Barry looks at me as if it's obvious. "He's a professor, so logically, he'd have lots of Pokemon, right?"
"Well, yeah," I say, not seeing his point.
He says, "You're not getting it, Rogue! We should ask him if he'll give us some Pokemon!" Then he dashes over to my desk, and asks, "Hey, did you get a new PC?"
"Barry, it's--"
"No time for that! Um...oh, yeah! Let's go see if we can get some Pokemon! I'll wait outside. It's a $10 million fine if you're late!" He says as he dashes out of my room.
I call, "Barry, wait! We need to discuss this!" But he doesn't hear me as the door slams shut behind him. What did I get myself into?
I walk downstairs, and am promptly greeted by my mother. "Good morning, Rogue! Barry left already. I'm not sure why, but he was in a hurry!"
I explain, saying, "He wants to go get some Pokemon from Professor Rowan."
"That's nice, dear," she says absentmindedly as she turns on the TV. "Just remember, whatever you do, don't go into the tall grass! Wild Pokemon might attack you, and you don't have any Pokemon, so..."
I sigh exasperatedly. "That's why--"
"Sshh! It's Oprah's 100th show!"
I leave the home, ready for a new day. The truth is, I'm psyched about this. I've waited for this day my whole life, and I've studied my Pokemon choices thoroughly. Turtwig. Chimchar. Piplup. All very powerful Pokemon in their own right. I've even made my decision already.
As I walk out the door, my neighbor calls out, "Mornin', Rogue! I think Barry's looking for you! He's home right now."
As I ring the doorbell, Barry slams into me as if on cue. "'sup, Rogue! I'm gonna see Professor Rowan. You should come, too. And be quick about it!"
He dashes off, then returns to his door. I look questioningly at him, and he elaborates: "I forgot something. I'll be right back. Wait for me on the road!"
And he's gone, leaving myself wondering how I deal with that on a regular basis. I shrug and walk off. Soon I hear a door crash open, and I know that Barry found whatever he forgot.
He soon speeds past me. "Too slow, Rogue!"
When I finally meet him at the road. I back away cautiously. "Oh, no no no no no. No. We're not doing this..."
He grins as if he's a genius. "Oh, yes we are! Come on, Rogue, you know you've always wanted to! It'll be fun!"
His voice takes a serious tone. "Okay, listen up. Wild Pokemon jump out at you in the tall grass right? So just hop over to the next patch before any Pokemon show up! If we're quick about it, we can reach Sandgem Town without running into any Pokemon! Ready?"
"No. I really think we should discuss this..."
"Okay, good! Here I go! On your marks, get set..." He begins to dash off, and I know he's screwed.
"HOLD IT!"
"Whoa, who what?" Barry looks around wildly.
I point to a white-haired old man approaching us. I know immediately who it is. "Look, Barry!"
He stares in shock. "But--you--you're..." he stutters. "You're that professor dude!"
He rolls his eyes. A common reaction to Barry's ramblings. "Yes, I'm that 'professor dude'. I'm Rowan. You don't have any Pokemon with you, do you?"
"Well, no..." we say in unison.
"Then why in the world would you go into the tall grass?! "
Barry says, "Um..."
The Professor just stares at Barry until he cracks. "Okay, okay, okay! We wanted to get some Pokemon!"
Rowan seems to have a personal conflict with himself as he turns away. I catch snippets of his one-sided conversation. "...wanted Pokemon...meet...world changed..."
He turns back to us. "All right. You two really love Pokemon, eh?"
Barry doesn't hesitate to answer. "Well, duh! Why else would be be trying to get Pokemon? Of couse we love Pokemon! Right, Rogue?"
I confidently reply, "Of course."
Rowan tells us as it is. "You foolishly try to enter the tall grass without your own Pokemon. You recklessly endangered yourselves. I'm worried what people like that would do with Pokemon."
Barry stutters, "Well, I, um...well, then if I can't have one, at least give one to Rogue here! After all, it was me who tried to go into the grass..."
I can't believe Rowan falls for such meaningless crap. "Hm! That's very mature of you. All righty then, I'll entrust you two with Pokemon. But you'll have to promise me you'll never put yourselves in danger like that again."
We are both quick to reply.
Rowan searches, obviously confused. "Now, where did I put?..."
Suddenly a young girl my age walks up with a briefcase. "Professor, you left your briefcase at the lake."
"Ah, there it is! Thank you. Boys, this is Dawn. She's my assistant. See here, Dawn, I was about to give these people some Pokemon."
Dawn is amazed. "Are you sure? Those are rare Pokemon--"
"I've made my decision, and it's final," he says firmly. "Now, open up the briefcase and pick a Pokemon!"
I'm surprised Barry hasn't exploded with joy yet. "Ohhh...yes! I'm so happy! Rogue, since I'm an adult now, you can pick first. I have to be all maturelike."
Yeah right. You're about as mature as a preschooler.
Nevertheless, I'm glad I can choose first. I hurry over to the briefcase, eager to choose a Pokemon. I open it up, and I see three Poke Balls. One of these capsules contains my future partner. I pause for a moment, then I reach down and remove the Poke Ball containing the Pokemon of my choice.

MORE TO COME

Hydreigon and I faced each other and I knew that my options were few against this dragon. I had a strong temptation to use Typhoon but I felt that was too risky, Hydreigons power would blast through it with little trouble. Thinking hard I realised that I only had one option, the mighty Jude, bulky as hell and packing super effective attacks would hopefully let me at least weaken the powerful Dragon.

I hurled a ball and Jude appeared. Jude glanced up and appeared unaffected at the sight of the powerful dragon in front of it. Despite the nasty position I was in, Judes response was comforting however I was still conscious of the tremendous risk I was talking. Jude was strong at shrugging off attacks and then countering, which meant that thanks to that damn necklace of Ghetsis, I was in for a lot of pain. I took a deep breath, and waited.

Ghetsis considered Jude for a long while, weighing up his options. Finally, he shouted an order. Hydreigon gave a Roar, and then blasted Jude with a powerful blast of energy. Jude grunted, at the powerful blast of the attack. The attack ended, and I fell to my knees as electricity blasted out of the necklace, coating my body in blue lightning. Jude looked at me in concern, before charging toward Hydreigon, its fist glowing with the power of the Dragon Pulse stored thanks to its Revenge move. It punched Hydreigon throwing it away. Hydreigon gave a Roar and blasted Jude with a second Dragon Pulse and I gave a scream as the attack caused me pain yet again. I collapsed face down in the dirt but again, Jude struggled back to its feet after taking a second massive blow, before lumbering toward Hydriegon, and then knocking it into the middle of next week. This time, Hydreigon did not get up and I lay on the ground panting.

The Skirmish between Hydreigon and Jude had caused me incredible physical pain however, I figured that even Ghetsis would lack a second pokemon with a similar level of power. At least, I hoped that was the case. Jude saw the state I was in, and picked me up in its strong arms, I got my feet under me and managed to stand. I needed a breather, somehow but I didn’t think Ghetsis would be very welcoming. Sure enough, grinning at my agony he sent out another pokemon, this time, a Bisharp. At the sight of the Dark / Steel pokemon, I frowned, then realised I had no other option. I tossed a ball and Inferno appeared.

I had an obvious type match up, so I ordered a Fire Punch while Ghetsis countered with Stone Edge. The two pokemon threw a punch and both connected, causing both attacks to dissipate. Furious, I tried again, and again, Both pokemon threw punch after punch but each attack was blocked. Suddenly, Bisharp’s arm gave a sudden jerk, the Stone Edge attack missed. Bisharp was well trained, and the wayward blow still deflected the Fire Punch, however Inferno was ready for an opening. Its arm blurred, and it snatched the wrist of Bisharp in a strong grip, befire its arm exploded with Fire.

Bisharp gave a scream and tried to pull away but Inferno held on. Bisarps other arm glowed and it tried to punch Inferno away but Inferno was too good, too fast. He casually tossed Bisharp backwards a few feet causing the punch to easily miss. Caught wrong footed, and still blinded by pain, Bisharp was wide open. Inferno cloaked itself in flame, and then slammed into Bisharp with terrific power, crunching into Bisharp and blasting it into unconsciousness.

I sank to the ground again. Inferno had done what I had so sorely required, he had dispatched its opponent without taking any damage from its attacks, granted me the breather than I needed. The downside was, I now only had 2 pokemon left, the still inexperienced Photon, and Typhoon, one of my strongest and reliable members on my team. This was going to be close…

Yea you don't get the ending today. Its past midnight, im tired, and still pissed off at that low roll HJK. Like seriously, if I had KOed it was game -_-. Fuck pokemon whether on PO or ingame I have such shitty luck.

Anyway ill sit down and churn out the ending tomorrow so expect the final update to come once someones posted. For those of you who are really impatient know that I have an Eelektross and a Samurott, while Ghetsis has an Eelektross and a Seismitoed so yea :/

Misty the Murderer

It was me vs Misty. After I had beaten my way to Bills and received the SS ticket I headed back south to take on the Gym Leader of Cerulean City. I was pretty confident about being able to beat her with Quanyails and Tank.

After beating my way through the two trainers in the Gym, I was finally face to face with Misty. She accepted my Challenge and hurled Staryu into the fray. Quanyails (Oddish) was my response. I hit with Poison Powder and proceeded to Absorb her health away as she fruitlessly tried to attack me with Water Pulse. Quanyails took all the attacks easily, killed Staryu, and it was time for Starmie to come into the battle. I weighed up my options and sent Tank (Wartortle) in to battle. With Bite at my command and a resistance to Water Pulse I was sure I would be fine.

After taking 2 Swifts I was sitting at about 60% health. Then everything went wrong. Starmie hit with a Critical Hit Water Pulse which simply blasted through my type resistance (and defences) and murdered my Tank! Wartortle was no more. I couldn't dwell on it though... I still had to win this match. Out came Jas (Pidgeotto) and win the match with a Quick Attack. I gained my second badge, but at the loss of my Starter and so far only Water type. Luckily I left Route 24 as a fishing/surfing location if I needed a Water type... Which now I do lol (Anyone remember where I get a Rod?)

Chapter 2: First Battle
Piplup.
I gazed silently at the Poke Ball containing my first Pokemon, my Piplup. Joy coursed through my veins. I didn’t notice as Barry chose his Pokemon, or as Professor Rowan and Dawn returned to Sandgem Town.
I’m a Pokemon Trainer.
In a dreamlike state, I pressed the button in the middle of the Poke Ball and tossed it up into the air. “Go, Piplup!“ I whispered. With a flash of light, my Piplup appeared.
I’m a Pokemon Trainer.
I knelt down in front of my Piplup, and gazed into its large brown eyes. “Hey, little guy,” I said softly.
“Piplup! Pii!” it squeaked, then turned away. It saddened me a little that Piplup didn’t respect me much yet, as I did it, though I hoped that would soon change. Piplup is a proud Pokemon by nature, and it would take some time before it would truly bond with me.
I’m a Pokemon Trainer.
“Hellooo?” Barry said in a falsely mocking tone. “Anyone in there?” He poked my head a few times
“Hey!” I said self-consciously.
Barry smirked. “Oh, he lives! Good. Whaddaya say we have a battle? Turtwig against Piplup?”
My heart sank. Of course, Barry had chosen the Pokemon Piplup was weak to. I should have expected as much. However, this early on Turtwig shouldn’t know any Grass-type moves yet, so that wouldn’t be much of an issue.
I looked at Piplup. “You ready for this?” Piplup glared at me indignantly, as if to say, Are you kidding? Of course I‘m ready! Bring it on!
I smiled at Piplup’s confidence. Trying to mirror Piplup’s sureness in itself, I replied, “Why not?”
Barry jumped up and down as if he’d wet his pants. “Yes! Turtwig, let’s go!”
Barry tossed his Poke Ball in the air, and with a flash, Turtwig appeared. “Turt! Turtwig!”
My first battle had begun.
The two starters faced off against each other, sizing each other up. I ran through what I knew of Turtwig in my mind. At Level 5, it would know Tackle and Withdraw, two very underwhelming options. I knew Piplup knew nothing better, though.
I took the first move. “Piplup, use Pound! Don’t let up!”
Piplup waddled toward Turtwig, ready for action…
…and fell flat on its face.
Piplup pushed itself up, puffed up its chest, and looked back at me. I could read its expression perfectly. I meant to do that.
I smiled. “Okay, let’s try this again! Pound, Piplup!”
This time, Piplup succeeded in reaching its target, and began mercilessly smacking Turwig with its flippers.
Barry protested, “Hey! That one hurt! Turtwig, retaliate with Tackle! Trap Piplup beneath you!”
Turtwig did exactly as it was told. It slammed into Piplup, knocking it down and trapping it under its weight.
“Now use Withdraw!”
It was a good tactic, and it put me in a desperate situation. While it couldn’t Tackle Piplup again, its weight would damage Piplup until it fainted, all the while raising its Defense until Piplup could barely scratch it. However, Barry had unwittingly exposed Turtwig’s weaker underbelly to Piplup’s assaults. Hitting it there would do more damage than anwhere else would, particularly as its Defense steadily rose.
There wasn’t much I could do, so I ordered Piplup to spam Pound.
Both Pokemon were beginning to look fatigued at this point, and I knew one of them would go down soon. If Piplup stayed beneath Turtwig any longer, it would faint. I needed to get it out of there as soon as possible.
“Piplup, use your strongest Pound and try to get Turtwig off of you!” I called.
Barry, oblivious to what I was doing, continued ordering Turtwig to use Withdraw.
Piplup summoned all its strength, and with a mighty heave, shoved the Turtwig off. This unexpected action unbalanced Turtwig, and it toppled over onto its shell.
I smiled. The battle was over, and we both knew it. Gary desperately urged Turtwig to get up, but to no avail. With Turtwig immobilized on top of its shell and its underbelly exposed, Piplup could finally break through its defenses and win this for us.
Relieved, I ordered the final attack. “Piplup, finish this up with Pound!”
Barry desperately pounded the earth. “No, no, no, no, NO! TURTWIG!”
As the final attack struck home, Turtwig lost its energy and fainted. And I breathed a sigh as I won my first battle.
Barry rushed over to his Turtwig. “Turtwig, return!” he cried. “You did a good job, buddy.”
I, too, ran over to my Pokemon. “You did great, Piplup!” I said joyously. Piplup looked at me, as if to say, Of course I did! What did you expect?
Barry stood up and clipped his Poke Ball to his belt. “Whew. That battle tired me out. I’m going home; see you later!”
I’m a Pokemon Trainer. And winning is what I do.

Ghetsis glared at me, upset that I hadn’t fallen unconscious by now or something. In truth, I was amazed that I was holding up as well. I had knocked out 4 of Ghetsis’s team however; the rest of my team was vulnerable to being counter-swept with ease. I anxiously waited for his next pokemon.

With a frown of irritation, Ghetsis hurled a ball, an Eelektross appeared and at the sight of it, I let out a low curse. An electric type was bad news since Typhoon could not handle it, on the other hand, Photon wasn’t a good choice either, but then again, it was my ONLY choice. I took a deep breath, and sent out Photon to face off against Eelektross.

Seeing my choice, Ghetsis gave a smirk while I tried my best to ignore him. In any identical matchup, the pokemon that moved first had the greater chance at winning. I knew my Photon was very slow but then again, I did have a plan. I had initially planned it for N but never got the chance to use it, now perhaps, was the time to put it into practise.

The two identical pokemon faced each other, and Ghetsis ordered his pokemon to lead off with Flamethrower. Quickly realising that I was outmatched in both power and speed, I ordered my Photon to dodge, and then to spray acid in a defensive action in order to discourage future attacks. Photon dodged the first flamethrower, however Ghetsis ordered his Eelektross into the acid spray, in order to get a better shot. The Acid burned Eelektross, however Photon as nailed by Flamethrower, forcing it into a corner. Ghetsis smirked, savouring the killer blow while I waited patiently. I knew one thing that ghetsis did not, my photon was just strong enough to take the hit, which would give me one attack to KO his Eelektross, with no high powered neutral attacks of my own, it was time to rely on a NVE STAB attack. Ghetsis screamed an order, and the flamethrower roasted Photon with its searing heat. I screamed too, as the pain of the flamethrower hurt me as well. The smoke from the attack cleared… and Photon was still standing! Its body flickered with electricity, “Go now, Electric Gem:” I ordered as Photon exploded in a surge of electrical power, before blasting Eelektross with a supercharged thunderbolt at -2 Special Defence. Eelektross gave a cry of pain. It remained standing and mu gut twisted… before its eyes flickered closed. With sheer determination, Photon had emerged victorious in one of the crucial battles of my battling career.

Enraged, Ghetsis was furious at how Photon had turned the tables on him. To top it off, I was still standing, still hanging on as his team crumbled under the pressure I was exerting. With a cry of rage he sent out his final pokemon, a Seismitoed while I countered with my starter, my friend throughout this long and brutal journey.

The two water pokemon stared each other down and I knew that this battle would be dam close. Both pokemon had a STAB attack that was neutral against the other, and both pokemon had roughly the same attack power. Ghetsis and I issued our orders at the exact same time, however, Seismitoed was quicker. It leaped in the air and then slammed into the ground hard. A massively powerful Earthquake rippled across the battlefield, blasting me off my feet. I realised that the Earthquake was stronger than it should be, a critical hit. Then I struck the ground hard and everything went black…

My eyes fluttered open and I became aware that my necklace was throbbing. I knew that Typhoon was on low health but I also knew that I was in bad shape. I realised that I had probably been unconscious for only a few seconds, otherwise Typhoon would have been killed by now. I struggled to stand up, to move, to do anything, but I was crippled with pain and could not make any sort of movement. Besides, this battle was over anyway with Seismitoed being faster. My necklace throbbed again and I began to close my eyes... when Typhoon suddenly gave a roar of defiance. My eyes snapped open and realised just how much the pain had dulled my thinking. I had prepared for everything in my league quest after all, now it was time to strike back.

Desperate to defend my partner pokemon, I again struggled to stand. This time, pure will powered myself to stand. Ghetsis looked amused at my pathetic show of defiance but Typhoon looked at me gratefully. I have Typhoon a single nod, and he began to glow. Its eyes flashed before transforming into a deep royal blue. The very air felt heavy, and then with a thunderous boom a blast of water shot out of Typhoon, slammed into the roof of the building, blasting a hole right through it. Rain lashed down and wind blasted across the battlefield. Torrent had activated and Typhoon had controlled the power to create its own namesake, here during the battle, a Typhoon.

I turned to look at Typhoon, and saw it almost completely surrounded by a watery aura, which began to flux. I smirked at Ghetsis, who, to my surprise, smirked back. “All that power, and its rather tragic that your friend fails to OHKO” he remarked.

This was a good point, however, thankfully, I had thought ahead. I smiled sweetly at Ghetsis “Who said anything about my friend only drawing on the powers of Torrent?” Ghetsis frowned in confusion as I gestured at Typhoon. “Typhoon, unleash Water Gem!”

Typhoon basically exploded with water as a massive Tidal Wave ripped across the battlefield, buffed by the mighty powers of Torrent and Water Gem. Ghetsis had perhaps half a second to react as his bones were pulverised under the mighty power of the wave. His pokemon, was basically blasted to hell and back, much to Typhoons happiness. Ghetsis was beaten, and I had won.

Will edit with HoF post later

Part 2 of my Fire Red Nuzlocke is up! Link to Rules and Part 1 are in my sig.

Part 2:
Well I have no reason to stay in Pewter any longer, so I just walk on out like bada- wait I did that last time. Crap I need some new material.
Oh hai Oak’s aide! Hey, I need to sak you something. *looks over shoulder* Is Oak really a rapist? “What? No!” …So you have a “package” for me? AHHHHHHHHHH oh it’s from my mum. *Running Shoes get!* HELL YEAH!!!!!!! *runs around* Whoosh! I’m an aeroplane!
…Ahem. Onwards!
Lass: “You just looked at me, didn’t you?” No, you just walked up to me and attacked me with your two Pidgeys. After the battle: “You’re mean!” YOU ARE THE ONE WHO WANTED TO BATTLE BITCH! DEAL WITH IT.
*Percent learned Hyper Fang!* HAHA KILL EVERYTHING!!! Oh Percent, why did I ever doubt you? “Do you love me now, master?” …Oh god I never thought I’d say this but yes!
*Nadine learned Quick Attack!* Cool beans. Better than Gust in most situations, so good I guess?
Youngster: “Hey, you’re not wearing shorts! What’s wrong with you?” …There are no words to describe the sheer stupidity of this statement.
Lass: “Eek, did you just touch me?” No, I’m not Professor Oak.
Now I need to catch some more teammates! *Wild Nidoran M appeared!* Just what I wanted! Welcome to the team Storm! “Together we shall vanquish our enemies!” I damn hope so. Onwards to Mt Moon!
*Wild Geodude appeared!* Also awesome! Welcome to the team, Hardman! “I’ll fight for you Prof!” Great! Oh hey, this means that my team is full! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PARTY TIME!
*Celebrates with grinding*
*Storm learned Focus Energy!* Entirely useless, but hey!
AAAARRRGGHHHH!!! This wild Jigglypuff is being a major troll, between Sing (which seems to hit every time), Defense Curl (poor Storm is doing next to no damage now) and Cute Charm (which seems to have an infatuation rate much higher than 50%). But I soloed it, like a boss. Took like 10 minutes though…
..Now I’m doing the same thing with Hardman. And this Jigglypuff has an Oran Berry. FFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
Note to self- never grind on Jigglypuffs. But one thing good came of that battle- *Hardman learned Rock Throw!* AWWWWW YEEAAAAAAHHHH!!!!! “We will fight well together!” You said it, Hardman.
*Storm learned Double Kick!* “We shall smite our foes with twin strikes from the soles of my mighty feet!” Lol Storm, you’re awesome.
Anyway my team is all levelled now, so time to take on Mt Moon!
*Got TM 09 Bullet Seed!* Ehh, Vine Whip is better.
Uh, so many wild encounters. Couldn’t they make a road or some other way to get to Cerulean City, insteadof this damp old cave? *Typical Game Freak logic says nope*
Lass: “Wow, it’s way bigger in here than I thought!” HOLY SHIT WE’RE IN A TARDIS??
*Solo is trying to learn Poisonpowder!* Well it’s way better than Growl, that’s for sure.
*Solo is trying to learn Sleep Powder!* …Way better than Poisonpowder. Well Solo, you just got a valuable addition to your movepool. “I will be better than ever master!” That’s the spirit!
*Got TM 46 Thief!* Could be useful to take items from wild pokes, but otherwise useless.
Oh hey, Team Rocket’s here!
Team Rocket Grunt: “Little kids shouldn’t be messing around with adults! It could be bad news!” Umm, I’m pretty sure it’s meant to be the other way around.
Anyway I destroyed the Super Nerd, claimed my Helix Fossil and left Mt Moon. Smell ya later bitches!
I think I’ll just pass by the Mega Punch/Kick tutors. I don’t feel the need for those moves right now.
*Got TM 05 Roar!* …Another one I will use exactly never.
Aaaand here we are at Cerulean City! Time to catch a new friend!
*Wild Spearow appeared!* I always thought Spearows looked a bit evil. I’ll call you Ornitha, derived from the Latin word for bird. Hmm, she could be better than Nadine but I’ll keep Ornitha boxed for now, just because Nadine’s a higher level and I can’t be bothered grinding. Now to train a bit more before heading north!
*Storm is evolving!* WOOOOOOOO “Prof, not even the mightiest of our foes shall stand between us and our virtues!” Cool beans, Storm.
*Hardman is trying to learn Magnitude!* Oooh yes. But which move should I delete? …Will Mud Sport be useful? I think not.
*Fury is trying to learn Fury Swipes!* Naah, Scratch is better and Leer could see some use against a Bide spammer or something.
*Solo is evolving!* OH. HELL. YES. “I’ll try harder now master! We will win!” Yeah Solo! That’s the spirit!!
Go Hardman! More training! *Wild Mankey appeared!* Great, we should be able to take this with Magnitu- *Mankey used Karate Chop! It’s a critical hit!* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO- *Hardman lives with 5 hp* …YES!!!!!! That was a close one Hardman, good thing you were at max HP eh? “I nearly failed you Prof!” But that’s the thing Hardman. You didn’t :)
*Hardman gets a critical Magnitude 10 on a level 6 Ekans* Well I know you want to prove yourself to me after almost dying, but don’t you think that’s a little overkill bro? O_O
*Nadine is evolving!* Nadine, your trolling levels just rose by OVER 9000!
*Storm is trying to learn Poison Sting!* Welp, it’s better than Focus Energy, and it’s at least useful for stalling and catching weak pokemon.
…Now my team is FINALLY strong enough to head north! Oh hai there Gary, you think you’ll beat me? Hmm, let me think… nah.
Basically I ended up in a massive stall war with his hacked Pidgeotto (level 17, but Pidgey doesn’t evolve until 18 -.-) and Hardman, with him using Sand Attack literally every turn. When Hardman eventually got a Rock Throw in, it didn’t OHKO -.- so I sent in Percent to clean it up. Then he sends in his own Rattata, and I switch to Fury who OHKOs it, of course. Then Gary sends in his Abra, which knows nothing but Teleport, which fails when used by NPCs >:) I send in Nadine to 2HKO it. Then he reveals his- level 18 Charmander? Seriously, you haven’t evolved it yet? What s noob. Anyway I keep Nadine in, which crits with a Quick Attack but is hit by a crit Ember in return, leaving my precious bird in the red. I switch to Storm, which tanks two Embers before KOing with Double Kick. Whew, that was by far the hardest and longest battle yet.
Then Gary goes on and says how he hates everyone else and gives me the useless Fame Checker. Smell ya later, loser.
Well I proceed to demolish Nugget Bridge, although Hardman did have some trouble against the last two trainers, who naturally spammed Fighting moves.
Oh, you’ll let me join Team Rocket? Sweet! I might just- hey WAIT I don’t even get the choice?? WTF is this??? Oh fine, I guess I’ll just beat him up then. *Solo ends his miserable life*
*Got TM 45 Attract!* Useless.
Now, it’s time to catch some pogeymans!
*Wild Abra appeared!* O___O OMFG!!! Good thing I have Solo out in front! Go Sleep Powder! Go Pokeball! *It broke free!* Well, its still sleeping… throw again! *It broke free!* -_- I sure hope the third one works… *it does* HOLY CRAP I GOT AN ABRA!!!! I’ll call you Lucky! *Lucky just shrugs her shoulders*
Now to catch another pogeyman!
*Wild Weedle appeared!* I-I miss you Stinger! *Runs away*
Well I have dupes clause, so I get another chance.
*Wild Caterpie appeared!* That’s better. I’ll call you Mothra, because who wouldn’t?
Now I’m going to grind Lucky until she’s on par with the rest of the team. Sorry Nadine, but you are no longer necessary *boxes her*
*Lucky is evolving!* AWW YEAAHH!! Wait, Lucky’s a female… and yet she has a moustache? WTF?? “…Shut up.” Yay Lucky can talk! “Big deal.” Maan, you’re a bit of an ass.
*Lucky learned Disable!* Well, I might never use it, but it’s far from useless. Hey, now let’s stop grinding you and continue onwards!
*Percent is trying to learn Focus Energy!* …Better than Tackle? I guess. Wait that means…
*Percent is evolving!* HELL YEAH!!! “Do you love me now master?” Well this time the answer is DEFINITELY YES!!!! *Percent is trying to learn Scary Face!* Better than Focus Energy, not that I’ll use it anyway.
Picnicker: “My boyfriend is cool!” Useless information GET!
*Got TM 43 Secret Power!* Ehh, not that good. Will probably never use it.
Okay, time to visit the world-famous Bill!

So it’s a Clefairly that claims to be Bill, who wants me to teleport it in the machine. And Clefairys are rumoured to be from space. Hmm…
HE’S AN ALIEN TRYING TO ENTER HIS HUMAN AVATAR AHHHHHHHHHH
Well this is awesome so I helped him anyway. As thanks, he gave me a ticket for the best cruise ship in the world, the S.S. Anne! Sweet.
But first, I’ll grind Solo a bit more for the gym.
*Solo is trying to learn Razor Leaf!* Sooooooo much better than Vine Whip.
…And with that, we’re ready to take on the gym!
Well Storm and Lucky easily took care of the lackeys, let’s see if Misty is any better.
I lead with Solo (naturally) and she goes for Staryu. I Leech Seed for some scouting, and it uses a useless Harden. Solo, end it’s miserable life. *Razor Leaf OHKOs* Now for the big guns- she sends out Starmie. It outspeeds and uses Swift, getting a crit, while Solo’s Leech Seed misses. -.- incredibly haxy round. Well Solo can easily take another Swift even if it crits, so I Leech Seed again. Sure enough, its Swift crits AGAIN (WTF???) but thankfully Leech Seed hits. I heal Solo with a Potion, getting hit by another Swift (but thankfully this one didn’t crit). I then heal again, and it continues its Swift spamming. Then I begin to put my plan into action. GO SLEEP POWDER!! It Swifts AGAIN and Sleep Powder connects, crippling it. Hehe… ALL OUT OFFENSIVE!!! Solo KO’s with an awesome Razor Leaf.
CASCADE BADGE GET!!!!! Also I get TM 03 Water Pulse, which could be veeery useful in the future. But enough of that, see you next time!

BOLD

doing great so far on my Black nuzlocke, but I noticed something, 5/6 of my team is bold natured! Out of the seven pokemon ive caught so far, patrat, purloinn, lilypup, tepig, zebstrika, roggenrola, pansage and munna, pansage [jolly] and tepig [adament] are the only two not bold D:

So before I got to my next gym, I had to make my way through Eterna Forest. I resign myself to the fact that I will probably not get a capture here, since my lovely partner will do her best to murder anything that gets in front of us. So, I go into the forest. First encounters? Budew and... Gastly??? I totally forgot there were Gastly here! Chansey's only attacking move is Egg Bomb... I might actually capture this one. I love Gengar! First turn, Swoop oneshots the Budew with Wing attack. Chansey tries and fails to use Egg Bomb. Gastly uses Curse.

...at this point I remember that a Gastly is perfectly capable of killing itself without Cheryl's help. Sweating, I toss a ball. Rock, rock... pop. No such luck. Chansey once again tosses an egg straight through the ghost. Gastly... uses Curse again. I throw my hands into the air and scream nooooooo... and then see it didn't faint. O.O;;;; Guess it has an odd HP number. Sweet! I cross my fingers and toss a ball. Three rocks and a ting later, I have myself a Gastly. Yes! I name her Maboroshii, and eagerly go to check her stats. She's... Adamant? ADAMANT??? -_- You have got to be kidding me. All that stress and then this? I'm shoving you in the box, young lady. Grumbling, I train my Abra up a dozen or so levels and then go challenge Gardenia.

I... challenged Gardenia way too soon. T.T For mysterious reasons of mysteriousness (Read: Forgetfulness) I thought her strongest was on 18-19. AND I forgot what a freaking pain her Roserade can be. Anyway. Here's how it went down:
Ayame sent out Swoop (Staravia)! Leader Gardenia sent out Turtwig! Swoop used Wing attack! Turtwig used Reflect! Swoop used Wing attack! Critical Hit! Turtwig fainted. Gardenia sent out Cherrim!
(Now, at this point, I was like, psh, reflect. That makes it do, like, 2 damage less, surely.)
Ayame sent out Tank (Grotle)! Grotle used Tackle!
(Why the #$&^@I!& did it only do like a tenth of her HP??? Oh, right. Reflect. -_-;)
Tackle! Grass Knot! Tackle! Grass Knot! Tackle! Grass Knot! Critical Hit!
(CRAP critical. Took my Tank who is still aptly named down into red. >.<)
Ayame sent out Madam Elle (Kadabra)! Cherrim used Grass Knot. But it missed!
(Super lucky, but I'm relatively sure Kadabra could have taken one Grass Knot.)
Kadabra used Confusion! Critical Hit! Cherrim fainted. Gardenia sent out Roserade!
(Haha, two crits and a miss in three turns. What are the odds? But at this point I'm starting to wonder if this was a good idea... Having used Roserade, I know how high its Special Attack is... If only there was a Special version of Intimidate... But I can't lose Madam Elle before the Fighting gym, so I've got to switch.)
Ayame sent out Leona! <Intimidate> Roserade used Grass Knot.
(Here is where I just plain mess up. Looking at the damage I'd taken, I thought I'd taken a hit earlier in the battle, so I thought Leona could survive. Stupid, stupid, that's what happens when you play a gym battle in between cooking dinner.)
Roserade used Grass Knot. But it missed! Leona used Bite! Roserade used Grass Knot. Leona Fainted!
(Nooooooo you.... How does a weed outspeed a lion, anyway? O.o)
Ayame sent out Swoop (Staravia)! <Intimidate> Roserade used Grass Knot. Critical hit! (Swoop survives with 3 HP) Swoop used Wing attack.
(.......Just how haxxy CAN this battle get??? Wait for it...)
Swoop used Quick attack!
(Here's the cherry on top...)
Critical hit! Roserade fainted! Ayame beat Leader Gardenia!

I just stare at my DS in disbelief. Five critical hits and two misses? Really? *sigh* If this is how the whole thing is going to go, this is gonna be a bumpy ride. Started eliminating Galactic Grunts.

Platinum Nuzlocke fanfic update (BTW I’ll try to get up an update every day, if you care)
Chapter 3: A New Purpose
“Wow, Rogue. Seems like a lot has been happening to you lately. It’s sure a great thing Professor Rowan was there to stop you. I wouldn’t like to think what would happen if the wild Pokemon got to you…” Mother said as she cooked dinner.
And you would’ve known about it if you hadn’t been watching Oprah, I thought dryly.
I fingered the Poke Ball hanging at my waist. I was itching to release Piplup from its ball, but now wasn’t the time or the place. I’d have to wait till later.
“Well, I suppose you’re going to go on an adventure with your Pokemon now,” Mother said sorrowfully. “It’ll be lonely around here, but I think I can manage. Who knows, maybe I’ll take a vacation. I might even see you during your journey. Just be sure to come back here every once in a while. I’d like to see the sorts of Pokemon you’ve caught.”
“All right, Mom,” I said tiredly. “Now, can I--”
“Oh, wait, Rogue!” Mom said. “Before you go, I’d like you to take these Running Shoes. They’ll allow you to zip around faster than you ever have before!”
I mutter a quick thank you and dash out the door. And, to no one’s surprise, who is it I find waiting on Route 201?
“Oh, hey, Rogue! Just the person I wanted to see,” Barry exclaimed. “I had this great idea--”
Not another one of your ‘great ideas’.
“See, remember that lake we always play at? Yeah, that. Everyone says there’s a Legendary Pokemon there. So, why don’t we catch that Pokemon? You know, as thanks to Professor Rowan.”
“Barry…”
“Okay, great! Lead the way.”
I slap my forehead. Barry’s ‘great idea’ has two major flaws. One, it simply goes against the rules of my Nuzlocke run. Two, we don’t have any Poke Balls to catch the Pokemon with. But I decide to play along and watch Barry fail.
I shake my head and lead the way.
As we reach the entrance, I quickly scan over the sign:
‘Lake Verity: Home of the Being of Emotion, Mesprit’.
“Okay, okay, okay,” Barry says. “No sweat! It’s here; the sign even says so! You and me, we’ve got nothing to fear!”
Except insane criminals with rabies-infested dogs, I think. And Mesprit. It could KO both Piplup and Turtwig instantly.
Right as we enter the lake, I notice something isn’t right. There’s an odd man with spiky blue hair and a gray uniform standing with his hands crossed behind his back, examining the lake. I listen to his strange one-sided conversation:
“The flowing time…the expanding space…I will make it mine one day. All mine…remember my words, Mesprit. Sleep while you can.”
And with that, he turns away and sees us. I expect him to go all berserk on us, but instead, he simply looks amused. “Excuse me, children,” he says dismissively. “Step aside.”
Perplexed, we both do as the odd man says. He leaves without another word. Barry doesn’t even seem fazed by the disturbing occurrence.
Kawayoo!
Barry does his little trademark dance. “Oooh, now’s our chance! That had to be the Legendary Pokemon! Let’s go catch it!”
A look of disappointment crosses his face as he realizes the flaw in his plan. “Oh, come on!” he says. “We don’t have any! You know, P-O-K-accent-E Balls!”
Well, you don’t have to spell it out for me.
“How’re we supposed to thank Professor Rowan now?” he asks. Then he shrugs. “Oh, well, we can still go there anyway. I bet he’d give us some Poke Balls if we asked him. Last one to Sandgem Town rules!”
So you’re not going to thank him, you’re going to ask him for more, I think. Typical Barry.
Without another word I leave Verity Lakefront, Barry far ahead of me. I’m still wondering what the man meant. The flowing time…the expanding space…
What did it mean? And how did it involve Mesprit?
I shrug. It doesn’t affect me, so I don’t let it bother me.
I couldn’t have been more wrong.
I head out onto Route 201, and I take my first step into the tall grass. I take out my Poke Ball, and I feel a rush of adrenaline flow through me. I press the button and throw it up into the air.
“Go, Piplup!”
And with a flash, my new friend appears. “Pipii! Piplup, pip!” It looks at me expectantly, as if it wants something. It seems to be saying, Is there food involved? If there isn’t, I don’t care.
I roll my eyes. “Piplup,” I say authoritatively, “We’re going out into the tall grass. I need you to fight off any wild Pokemon for me, okay?”
Piplup looks at me irritatedly. Oh, fine, if you insist. I’ll just whup these chumps quick and get home. There will be food later, right?
I take my first step into the tall grass, and almost immediately, a wild Starly appears. “Piplup, go!” I order. “Pound attack!”
Piplup waddles over to the Starly and begins smacking it before it even has a chance to attack. With a cry, the Starly fades into oblivion.
I look at Piplup. “Nice work,” I say, impressed.
Yeah, well, whatever. Can I have my food now?[/I
]My Piplup seems to have quite the appetite. Fortunately for me, Berries are quite abundant in Sinnoh, and as such I can make several Poffins using Berries that won’t do me any good over the course of my run. That should be enough to sate Piplup’s hunger, and in the process prep it for Contests, should I ever feel the need to participate.
Before long, we’ve reached Sandgem Town and Piplup seems stronger already. It has a tough glint in its eye, as if it feels like it can take down any opponent. I soon notice Dawn standing in front of the laboratory, who waves at me and motions for me to come over to her.
“Hey, Rogue,” she says. “The professor is looking for you. Let’s go inside.”
Right on cue, Barry slams the door open and rams right into us. “Oh, hey, Rogue!” he says, not even noticing Dawn. “That old guy isn’t as scary as he seems! And I got my Poke Balls, so I’m outta here! Expect to see me at the League!” And he dashes away without another word.
Dawn looks at me in disgust. “Your friend seems really impatient,” she says. “How do you even tolerate him?”
“I honestly don’t know,” I reply. And it’s the truth. I can barely handle his frantic nature.
We go into the laboratory, and I’m instantly amazed. There are several strange machines along the walls glowing with blue light, and row after row of books lined up orderly on shelves. Only the desks are a little cluttered.
“Ah, there you are, Rogue!” Professor Rowan says gruffly. “I have an important task for you. Your friend ran out before I could ask him to do the same, but you will suffice.”
“Sure, anything,” I reply.
“Good.“ he says. He grabs a small, red object and hands it to me. “Now, this here is a Pokedex,” he says. “It automatically records the data of any Pokemon you’ve seen, and the data is completed upon capturing the Pokemon. In essence, it’s a high-tech encyclopedia. I want you to help me with my studies by collecting information on every Pokemon in Sinnoh.”
I’m not sure how to respond to that, so I simply say, “Um, sure.”
“I’ve got one too!” Dawn pipes up.
Professor Rowan grunts. “By the way, would you like to nickname that Piplup of yours?”
As dictated by the rules of the Nuzlocke, I must nickname it. I would’ve even if I hadn’t been doing this in Nuzlocke mode. “Maelstrom,” I say firmly. “Its name is Maelstrom.”
My Poke Ball shakes gently, and I know Maelstrom is pleased with its name, for it is befitting that it should be named for the raging waters it controls.
“Mm,” Rowan says. “A fine name. Now, go on. No time to waste completing your Pokedex. This is a great undertaking in Pokemon history!” he declares.
“Um, okay,” I say. “Uhh…thank you?”
And with that, I walk out, Dawn behind me.
No sooner had I closed the door than Rowan bursts out and yells, “Rogue, wait! I have something good here. You should take it.” And he hands me my first TM, TM 27: Return. A powerful move that only gets better as your Pokemon becomes more attached to you. I thank him and take it.
“Okay, Rogue,” Dawn says. “Since you’re a new Trainer and I’ve had a bit of experience in the field, I’ll sort of act as your mentor, if that’s all right.”
We walk over to a large building with a distinctive red roof. “This is a Pokemon Center,” Dawns explains. “You can heal your Pokemon any time you want there, and for free, too. It’s an invaluable asset to any Trainer, beginner or expert.”
Next, we walk over to a slightly smaller building with a blue roof. “This is a Poke Mart. You can purchase more items the more experience you get as a Trainer. Since you’re just starting out, you won’t be able to buy many types of merchandise, but don’t let it get to you.
“Well, Rogue, I’m off to Route 202,” Dawns says. “You can join me if you’d like, but I think you should tell your family that you’ll be gone for a while. Um, see you later, then.”
“Yeah,” I say, and walk home, fending off wild Pokemon as I go. Maelstrom has grown stronger, and I’m quite impressed with its progress. I feel confident that with just a little more training, we’ll be ready to challenge the first Gym.
I’m soon home, and Mother quickly gives Maelstrom and I a rest. “Wow,” she says. “Sounds like you’ve got a big task on your hands. But just remember that I’m backing you all the way!”
Suddenly, the doorbell rings and Barry’s mom comes in, asking if we’ve seen Barry. Realizing that we haven’t, she assumes that he’s already gone on to Jubilife City and asks me to bring him a parcel. I‘d prefer not to, but it’s not much of a problem as I’m headed that way anyway. So I accept.
Soon I’m back in Sandgem Town. I head out of the town and out onto Route 202, where I can catch another teammate. Dawn notices me, and waves me over. “Come on, Rogue,” she says. “I’ll show you how to catch a Pokemon. Just watch me.”
In no time, Dawn has found and caught a wild Bidoof. “You should probably lower the Pokemon’s HP more than I did, but it’s okay. Here’s five Poke Balls to get you started,” she says as she hands me the Poke Balls.
“Well, I guess I’ll see you later. Make sure you’re catching Pokemon for the Pokedex!” she calls as she walks away.
I am now equipped with the tools to become a Pokemon Master. I have a Pokemon, a Pokedex, and some Poke Balls. All I have to do is take the first step.

This was a bit lengthy, but I had a lot to cover here if I wanted to accomplish what I planned. Tomorrow will be a good one, I hope. BTW, this won’t be exactly accurate with my actual challenge, as with certain situations, such as boss battles, I may change them to make it more interesting to read. However, if a Pokemon dies, it WILL die in this.
