Official "I want to edit an analysis" thread (read first post)

In Tyranitar's analysis, 4 sets are mentioned; but in the Opinion section, it says, "Both sets are capable of sweeping your opponent, in completely different styles as well."

Gengar@leftovers
Destiny Bondy
Focus Punch
Ice Punch
Thunderbolt
Destiny Bond + Focus Punch is an awesome and underrated combo. Plus since focus punch goes last, you get an extra turn out of d-bond, and yes i tested this. The other two attacks are just filler and you could put whatever you like, but I prefer to be able to kill off gyarados and salamence (whom you can't really destiny bond against, and they both resist focus punch)

Shuckle is UU, why does everyone talk about him like he's a standard? "Suicune will come in and set-up" and blah blah blah.

Shuckle@Leftovers
Defense Curl
Encore
Toxic
Rest/Protect

Suggested Nature/EV: Careful, 252 HP, 4 DEF, 252 SD
Yields: 244 HP, 497 DEF, 614 SD

This set is extremely hard to break, with maxed out SD probably only CM'd or water attacks will be breaking through, as a single defense curl will send your already high defense soaring. Toxic for your offensive move, and to lure out aromatherapists/heal bellers. Encoring a non-damage move (stat-up, sub, status, aroma/bell) can give you a turn to set up another pokemon, or at least force a switch. Encoring an attack give you a chance to switch to a resister, or again at least force a switch. Actually, I'll stop talking about encore now, you all know how it works.
If you're opponent is playing some weird and random (read: flawed or bad) strategy that allows you to take two turns doing nothing, or you have a aroma/beller, you can use rest. Or you can go with protect to find out what attack your opponent plans to use on Shuckle, and to give you a free turn to heal.

Again, Shuckle is UU...

The current analysis treats him like a standard, and also makes it seem like he's SUPPOSED to try and get a kill with toxic. Meh... wrap will NEVER last long enough... The second set looks more like a fun-team set.

Oh, and on a different note, with the addition of XD moves, Altaria is one of the best heal-bellers in UU right now... you could make a moveset based on it, or at the very least add it to the first set's third move slot or put it as alternative moves.

Cloud Nine Golduck with Surf/Ice Beam can be used as a reliable counter to most sunnybeamers, surprisingly enough. Most of the sunnybeamers rely on chlorophyll for their speed, and so Golduck can come in and give the suddenly-slower grass type some hell with ice beam. If it's Rapidash or a fire using it, Surf does the trick. Also most people forget about Cloud Nine being present on Golduck, and proceed to try and launch a solar beam anyways, giving you a free turn to whack them. Mention this?

Bolded to make sure you didn't ignore it after reading about Shuckle.

Ludicolo Analysis

Ludicolo @ Leftovers
Bold Nature - Rain Dish
252Def/172HP/86SpAtt
Rain Dance/Ice Beam/Toxic/Leech Seed

Healing Set -
Between the Leftovers and the Rain Dish, you will gain back 1/8th of your HP every turn, throw a seed onto one of your opponents that has a decent HP, and this poke becomes very hard to kill.
A couple of it's weaknesses, Flying and Grass (which you can not seed, and in the case of Venusaur, you can't Toxic either,) Ice Beam covers those bases very well. It's other two weaknesses (Poison & Bug) are often tied to either Grass or Flying, so you should be able to Ice Beam them as well.

Bulk Up Machamp should have Rest as an option over HP Ghost.

Some Charizard sets have Thunderpunch on them. Charizard doesn't learn Thunderpunch; that's Typhlosion.

The GSC Pikachu analysis doesn't mention the Hidden Power Pikachu should use. By the analysis, you would think it was Ice, although it is Fire.

There's a little problem in the Salamence Analysis EV section. Check it out,

"The Dragon Dancer should have at least 264 Speed to outspeed Aerodactyl and Jolteon after on Dragon Dance. This takes 112 EVs (116 if your Speed DV is 30 because of Hidden Power Flying). 270 Speed can also be used, to kill Heracross before you are able to set up a sweep with Dragon Dance. Your next priority is obviously attack which should be nearly maxed. However, if you use 232 Attack EVs, and put the rest in HP you will have 369 HP, allowing for Maximum Leftovers recovery"

This isn't true. If you put 232 Attack EVs into Salamence with 264 Speed and the rest into HP, you get 372 HP. I tried it at 270 Speed like it says, with 232 Attack EVs and the rest into HP, and I came up with 366 HP. This is no biggy I guess, but it's just a little off.

Perhaps it should read something like this, (assuming they're at 270 Speed)

However, if you use 220 Attack EVs, and put the rest in HP, you will have 369 HP, etc.

Ok then.

Actually, you should never ever use that spread if you aren't using 252 Speed EVs. You can more than make up for the difference in Speed from the default IVs with the points you save from being lost in other areas.

Deoxys L needs to be removed from lugias counters, seeing how it hates being toxiced. Also, with the rise of forry/skarm in ubers, overheat works well in dd quazas last slot. Also, why would you be passing light screens when lati@s already takes 40% from the strongest special attacks. Reflect is far superior, allowing you to take non cb gross and stop snorlax.

HP Fire should be added under Extra Options for Jynx. It can damage Metagross on the switch that could normallly stop Jynx cold. A set i might use would go something like this.

Jynx @ Lum Berry
EVs: 6 HP/252 Speed/252 SAtk
Modest/Timid Nature
- Lovely Kiss
- HP Fire
- Ice Beam
- Psychic

It'd be a lead pokemon. The EV's could probably be changed. Metagross is really the only reason HP Fire should be used on Jynx...cept for maybe other steels. Even then, Ice Beam does only a bit less than HP Fire.

I'd like to add an Endeavour set for Swampert that, if used properly, takes out at least two pokémon on the opponent's team.

Swampert @ Salac Berry
Endeavour
Surf/EQ
Substitute
Roar

Timid, 252 Speed, 240 HP, 16 Sp. Att

240 HP is so that Blissey breaks your subs with Toss and you can switch in on a Blissey toss without screwing up your Endeavour HP.

With Sandstream support, this thing is lethal. After the Salac boost on the final Sub, you kill the pokémon with Endeavour + Sandstream. If it's a Steel/Rock/Ground type, Surf will do enough to kill it after Endeavour, and there aren't any speedy Steel/Rock/Grounds save Aerodactyl, and even then he needs Jolly to outspeed Swampert after Salac. Pokémon using Sub can be roared away. When used properly it's guaranteed to kill 2 of the opponents' Pokémon. I prefer Surf to EQ, as it hits aforementioned Steels/Rocks/Grounds more effectively than EQ, especially considering that the most common, Skarmory, is part flying. It's possible to run EQ over Roar, but then you'd have a problem with Subbers. Bear in mind that this set only works with Sand Stream support, and becomes fairly useless without it. It also helps to carry a fast sweeper to clear up any pokémon with 1 HP remaining, in case they have 2 Sand Stream Resists.

The Parasect analysis says that Tyranitar is not a counter. Tyranitar owns Parasect more than badly with Rock Slide.

Regice Regice @ Leftovers
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 124 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd / 100 SAtk / 28 SDef
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Explosion
- Focus Punch
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt

Regice, with a twist.

Who said Regice can't hit both ways??? Anyhow, I've been testing this thing for some time now, and i must say, it has been working miracles for me like Jesus Christ himself! (God forgive me).

In a typical pokemon battle, whenever your average battler sights a Regice, 85% of the time they switch, without thought, to a bulky motherfucker (namely Blissey/Snorlax and sometimes even TTar!). At this moment, your insides begin to shrivel with warmth, if predicted correctly, after seeing "Regice is tightening its focus" ; Isn't that a pleasure? (yes SIR) ^____________^

- Bolt/Beam for annoying waters, zapdoses, mences etc.

- Explosion to clean up when Regice's time is close to passing out.

I strongly suggest Max ATT with a +attack nature to suit your needs

The remaining EV's were shared accordingly into other areas. Seeing that i'm not all that hot with EV sharing and whatnot, Obi or some other knowledgeable individual can fix the misplacements (if there was any.) of EV's.

I am not sure if this was mentioned, but on the Important RBY Differences article, it says this:

"Due to this, there is always an extra 1/256 chance that any "100% accuracy" attack will miss, and that any high CH rate attack will miss (+~0.4%). The only exception is Swift, which does not perform this check, and thus cannot possibly miss."

This has proven to be false. Swift can in fact miss in RBY.

Needs evidence to back it up before anyone will change it, if it's true. Where'd you hear it?

Somewhere on TASvideos.org some guy did a Pokemon Red speedrun, and he beat Red in 1:45 or something like that. Either way, he proved it to be true after getting it to be missed (button press manipulation and frame by frame seeing as everything is determined by what you press and when, and it is frame specific). I have no proof now, but I will try to get some sometime soon.

For Milotic:

A good strategy to use to activate marvel scale is to use toxic on a pokemon like Gardevoir or Alakazam that has synchronise. You get poison which activates marvel scale, but it's a regular poison and not a toxic-type poison.

BP Solrock needs to be added.

~ Calm Mind
~ Substitute/Reflect
~ Rock Slide/Psychic
~ Baton Pass

For UU, it is useful on Special based teams that need the Defense. It is a great surprise that works, and you WILL mostly make a successful Baton Pass.

Dugtrio is NOT a counter for any form of heracross.

A true counter should be able to switch in on any attack, and kill/nullify the pokemon quickly, or with minimal damage.

After a sacrifice is made, Dugtrio can kill off any heracross (except a salac boosted one) but if you have to sacrifice something, then it doesnt count as a counter.
