This is actually a good point. HGSS did not provide an area to evolve Magneton/Leafeon/Glaceon etc, you had to trade them to DPPt and evolve them there (Even with Ilex Forest/Ice Cave/Mt Mortar). They didn't stop the move evolutions (Like Aipom/Lickitung/Tangela) but neglected to give an area to evolve certain Pokemon. It would make sense given Hoenn's enormous size that there should be an island somewhere which we can evolve both Glaceon/Magnet evos. Leafeon is solved with a stone in petalburg woods, so no issues there.

I'd like to see a lot of the evo items being found during the main story too... I hate having to grind battle points/whatever points to get Protectors/Metal Coats/Magmarizers/Electrizers etc.

Also: I totally agree with the less Pelliper please. This was the first game that I actively started using Repels to keep shit away cause I got so irritated with the constant Tentacool/Wingull/Pelliper. You have about 150 odd water types which wouldn't be out of place in the sea GF, please use them :o
Eevee could evolve into Glaceon in the icy area of Seafloor Cavern near Mossdeep City, while Magneton can evolve into Magnezone in New Mauville.

*Edit

Ah, I got Greninja'd by can't say.

It does seem strange that considering the place has only 2 Ice types (Well, 3 if you include Regice) that they have an Elite 4 member who specialises in Ice types... That fight was always by far the easiest in the Hoenn E4. We could throw in a Froslass for sure... It would be nice if they revamped her whole team, but I think that would require some sort of change elsewhere to introduce snow.

I totally forgot about New Mauville. That would fit flavour wise and story wise as you can access that as soon as you obtain Surf, I hope they tweak the levels slightly though (or provide another means of obtaining Magnemite).
Yeah it is also difficult to make Ice types in a sunny region like Hoenn. Froslass would make sense though and maybe add in Lapras and Cloyster since they are Ice Pokemon that fit nicely in a tropical climate.

I think New Hoenn could work with more Pokemon of the Fire, Ice, Ghost, Dragon, and Fairy types, as some people have already said. What other types of Pokemon would you guys like to see more of in these remakes?

Some of you have mentioned more Ice-types being in Shoal Cave, but I only envision the addition of Bergmite, Cubchoo, Lapras, and possibly Jynx. Ocean surfaces could REALLY use Frillish, Inkay, etc. Most caves could also use Woobat, Roggenrola, and Noibat.

Does anyone want a remake of the Pokewalker by any chance?

Steel types. We had Mawile, Aggron, Skarmory, and Metagross. Mawile was version exclusive and sucked till gen6. Aggron had terrible typing and sucked till gen6. Skarmory was on the same route as Spinda. Metagross wasn't available till the post game. Forretress is likely to be here like it was in Emerald. Probopass will be in it if they let nose evolve. Durant might appear.

I know it is extremely unlikely that they'd update the gym/E4 rosters since they didn't do it in HGSS, but here's wishful thinking. I'm assuming they'll include the Safari Zone expansion and maybe a few others.

Roxanne: Anorith / Lileep / Nosepass
Brawly: Meditite / Machop / Makuhita
Wattson: Voltorb / Pikachu / Manectric / Magneton
Flannery: Numel / Combusken / Torkoal
Norman: Linoone / Vigoroth / Loudred / Slaking
Winona: Swellow / Skarmory / Pelliper / Tropius / Altaria
Tate&Liza: Claydol / Gallade / Solrock / Lunatone
Wallace: Luvdisc / Whiscash / Sealeo / Huntail / Milotic

I think these rosters are better than RS and on par/better than Emerald's. Roxanne becomes a little more challenging regardless of starter (except Torchic, that gets easier). Flannery could use something other than Slugma, and Hoenn's water types are too diverse for Wallace to be using Seaking of all things. As for the E4...

Sydney: Mightyena / Shiftry / Crawdaunt / Cacturne / Mega Absol
Phoebe: Dusclops / Banette / Sableye / Dusknoir / Mega Banette
Glacia: Sealeo / Glalie / Sealeo / Froslass / Walrein (though really they should include Weavile or something somewhere)
Drake: Shelgon / Flygon / Kingdra / Mega Ampharos / Salamence

Sydney and Phoebe would be fine with what I've given them (also secretly hoping for hard mode with Eviolite Dusclops). Glacia's options are limited but Froslass can switch it up a bit I guess. Mareep is available in the Safari Zone extension so that adds a little diversity to Drake's team with Mega Ampharos and makes it less easy to use Water type with Ice Beam to win.

Steven Stone: Skarmory / Aggron / Claydol / Mega Mawile / Cradily / Metagross

Lots of options here. Honestly I'd like to see Mega Metagross but it isn't necessary; Mawile is strong enough.

Overall, RSE's gym leaders had much better rosters than GSC, so if I got nothing at all I'd still be happy.

X and Y introduced sky battles this gen and Hoenn being the water region it is, I would love for underwater battles to be introduced in these remakes.

New Hoenn? What is this? Hoenn's still gonna be Hoenn when all things are said and done, and there's no way a freakin' polar bear is gonna be in this tropical island type of thing.

I think we've taken this a little too far with the wishlist stuff guys. My bet is that ORAS is like HGSS, you can catch or evolve newer pokemon, but they won't be in the regional dex, so you'll have to know where to look before hand.

Oh, and the 3DS pedometer and passerby function are being considered for Pokewalker like functions. You won't be able to catch anything, but training could become easier.

I am gonna breed and ev train top class pokes from my X and send them over to ORAS any suggestions on what my team should be?

In Ruby and Sapphire, as well as Emerald and the Sinnoh games, there were mudslides that you could only climb up with enough acceleration and momentum, such as with a Mach Bike. In Ruby and Sapphire, you could walk or ride up these, and it would count as a step in the Day-Care. This step count was removed in all future games, and the concept wasn't seen again until the Battle Subway. Mudslides were the original Lazy Day-Care training method.

I suppose Mt. Pyre's base or Mt. Chimney's rim may form a perfect circle...

Uh, did you use Aron in game? Because he was a badass. He could solo Norman and his gym, could handle pretty much the entire Winona gym, and was very useful against the twins. Steels then resististances to Dark and Ghost helped against the Elite 4 as well. Hell, he could help against every E4 member with the right match up (Glalie yes, Walrein no). And Take Down/Double Edge spam was legit with Rock Head. His "terrible" typing didn't matter much when he could wreck everything's shit while barely taking damage.

Not leaked per se but apparently Serebii had a list that contained Mega Swampert, Sceptile, Ludicolo and Shiftry that was quickly removed. I wouldn't give much credence though.

MEGA DANCING! MEGA FOREST THING! A MEGA TO LIEK! And I can't come up with anything for Shiftry.
Because random YouTube videos are such a reliable source.

Also I love how you provided zero evidence for it, like a link.

YouTube is not a great source...

That could be a cool idea. I also hope we will get some Ice type Pokemon since Hoenn only had Glalie and Walrein. Froslass should be in there for obvious reason Glalie and maybe they should throw in Abomasnow, Weavile, Cryogonal and maybe Beartic. They don't have to be those but an early game Ice type would be nice to have for once.
Well the main problem with that is there really is no area dedicated to cold weather/snow to stick a bunch of Ice types in. IIRC, the only ice-y area in all of Hoenn is the one room in the (optional?) Shoal Cave. Best bet would be to increase the size of Shoal Cave to include a more expansive cold area to add more Ice types. The only Ice type I can think of that is usually not found in a cold area is Shellder (well it's not Ice, but Cloyster is) and Lapras.

Hoenn could definitely use more Fire types. Also, I'm thinking of how Frilish, Skrelp, and Inkay would be such obvious choices to include in the surfing routes. -sigh-

Um, did I use Aron? Are you joking? I was talking competitively. And you can't take Norman out with just Aron. Lairon if he was over leveled. You can't even get Aggron at that point unless he's massively over leveled.

I can't make a team for you but I can say the best in game Pokemon to use: ( Assuming you want to use Pokemon you can find pre national pokedex ( going off the pokedex of Pokemon Emerald ) )
Normal: Exploud can be good with Boomburst but Zangoose can also be a great Pokemon.
Fighting: Blaziken is good but it is sort of OP and it kind of sucks in the ocean parts of the game. Since availability doesn't matter when you are gonna breed them Heracross would be a great pick and he can even mega evolve. Furthermore Breloom, Machamp and Medicham are also solid Fighting types.
Flying: Skarmory, Swellow and Crobat seem like the best Flying types, Crobat may be annoying to evolve though. You can use Salamence but Flying types are mainly used because of Fly and Salamence doesn't learn it until level 50. Gyarados is good but can't Fly either or has any Flying type moves.
Poison: Crobat and Tentacruel are the best ones to use but they don't really focus on their Poison typing. However if Roserade is obtainable then it would be a great pick.
Ground: Rhyperior, Swampert and Camerupt seem like good options. If you have the patience consider getting a Flygon.
Rock: Rhyperior is really the best option but the fossil Pokemon are also usable. Agrron is also good but again takes a while to evolve.
Bug: While Pinsir and Heracross are normally difficult to get in Hoenn that doesn't matter when you breed for them. Outside of those only Armaldo is worth mentioning.
Ghost: Ehhhhh maybe Dusknoir if we can get it in the new remakes. Banette can also be cool with it's mega evolution.
Steel: Metagross, Skarmory and if you can get the mega stone Mawile seem like good steel types. Aggron is again good but evolving it takes a while and so does evolving Metagross.
Fire: Blaziken is probably the best no doubt. Only other decent ones Camerupt and Drought Ninetales.
Water: There are alot of options including Swampert, Ludicolo, Gyarados, Azumarill, Starmie, Milotic and Kingdra. Walrein, Golduck, Lanturn, Milotic, Crawdaunt, Whishcash, Sharpedo and Tentacruel are also good.
Grass: Sceptile, Ludicolo and Breloom stand out as the best Grass types. However if we can get Roserade that would be great. Shiftry, Cacturne and Vileplume also sound cool.
Electric: Manectric and if we can get it Magnezone are probably the best Electric types. but like with other types Lanturn, and Raichu are also decent Pokemon.
Psychic: Alakazam no doubt since in game Magic Guard is based lord. Starmie, Metagross and Medicham are honorable mentions.
Ice: Walrein and Glalie. Even though Glalie is cool he sucks so Walrein.
Dragon: Kingdra, Salamence and Flygon evolve late but they are great Pokemon late in the game.
Dark: Shiftry, Sharpedo, Crawdaunt and Absol are the only ones I can think of. Maybe Cacturne though.
Fairy: Azumarill, Gardevoir and Mawile if we can get the mega stone. Azumarill probably seems like the best one.

These are all my opinion by the way but I think they will be the most useful in game. By the way speaking of in game has anyone thought about their in game team yet. Mine is probably going to look like this:
Alakazam ( My favorite Pokemon, easy to get and just incredibly good. Can even mega evolve. )
Breloom ( Another one of my favorites and haven't used it in game since generation 3. Would be cool to use with now actual Grass STAB attacks. )
Skarmory ( Another one of my favorite Pokemon if you are starting to see the trend. All around great wall and learns Fly which is cool in game. Might be a bit on the weak side though and may be tough to get. )
Crawdaunt ( Never used a Crawdaunt and would be fun to use when he doesn't suck in his own region for once. Good Water and Dark type STAB moves sound great and it's speed isn't terrible for in game. )
Still deciding on the last 2 slots but I am thinking about maybe an Electric type like Magnezone and a Fire type but the Fire types aren't great in Hoenn and the only decent one is Blaziken which I am not a fan off. Maybe I can trade over something like a Chimchar but I don't know.

Here's a question I haven't seen yet (if it's been brought up, sorry), but what about wonder trade? I don't see it being removed, but will you be able to get random pokes from XY, or will you be limited to ORAS until post game? If you're like me and only like to use pokemon iconic to that region, then you'll hope for the latter, but if you can get pokes from XY, then it'll be really easy to get ice and fire types really early on if you want.

Sounds like a cool team. Are you planning on using TM's before you trade them over or are you gonna give them good moves at level 1. Having good moves AND being Ev trained AND having good IV's and nature sounds like it would make the game easy.
