Sounds like a cool team. Are you planning on using TM's before you trade them over or are you gonna give them good moves at level 1. Having good moves AND being Ev trained AND having good IV's and nature sounds like it would make the game easy.
Well,I am gonna dex each and every poke on each and every route,so I would love the liberty of that yea, I will use tms and CRUSH the game utterly

Here's a question I haven't seen yet (if it's been brought up, sorry), but what about wonder trade? I don't see it being removed, but will you be able to get random pokes from XY, or will you be limited to ORAS until post game? If you're like me and only like to use pokemon iconic to that region, then you'll hope for the latter, but if you can get pokes from XY, then it'll be really easy to get ice and fire types really early on if you want.

I'd assume it's here to stay for at least this generation. There's no limitation for XY (you can get national dex Pokemon as soon as you unlock WT), so I imagine it's going to remain exactly the same for ORAS.

I'm going to lock this until we get a little more information on the games. We've sorta exhausted the potential discussion topics, and the quality of the thread has started to deteriorate. You are welcome to discuss any theories/hopes/wishes you have on the OI IRC channel (link in the announcement).

If you stumble upon any new information before the thread is unlocked, contact one of the OI moderators.

Okay guys, calm down. Please check the OP for news.

There may be more information in the next few hours about ORAS from this months Corocoro leaks. Try and keep things relatively on topic.

As before, we will be moderating for stupidness.

Dat Mega Sceptile though! O_O Grass/Dragon hype! Lightningrod is rather underwhelming though.
Mega Swampert looks buff as hell. Probably gonna gets some good Attack and Defense buffs. Good for it! :)
The game itself looks beautiful and the character models look great, especially Steven, Archie and Maxie.

Hopefully they fixed some of the framerate issues. Anyway I'm hyped that the mach bike is returning. I love the rayquaza challenge.

I'm wondering if they're going to patch X&Y, or if it's going to be like Platinum, BW2, etc where the new form looks regular to older carts. . .

Mega sceptile looks sweet! I foresee it being quite useful in Doubles.

Mega Swampert, though... it looks like someone took a bike pump and pumped it full of air.

#TeamSceptile

But anyway, Swift Swim Swampert (better than fucking Damp), and Lightningrod Sceptile. Curious to see what other mega-evolutions there might be.

For anyone thinking lightning rod mega sceptile is bad, it isnt, at all. It now counters rotom w, and it cant be paralyzed by thunder wave, plus now it has a way of raising its sp attack. That thing is going to be a monster. It just doesn't really make sense flavor wise.

As for mega swampert, when i see it, it just looks like a ball to me. Swift swim seems odd, but hey, i guess it could work. It would need some speed increase however,

Mega diancie seems unique, but thats all the info we got on it :/

Mega Groudon and Kyogre look fantastic, and the way that they are called "Atom Kyogre/Groudon" makes them seem like the megas will be integral in team aqua/magmas plot. The fact that they evolve through "Ancient Devolution" makes me curious.

Speaking of team magma/aqua, the character models for all of them seem great. It was also confirmed that you will be fighting one team based on your game, like the original games. Brendon and May look good (i dont like May's bow on her head, but whatever), and if you look closely, there are screenshots of the overworld, which looks amazing. Steven seems to explain mega evolution with his new "mega bangle" (????), and he seems to have a charizard x, which doesnt make a whole lot of sense, but hey, this raises the possibility of mega metagross.

The acro and mach bikes return makes me happy as well, they can really build on the puzzles both bikes presented.

All we need now is the battle frontier (and mega hydreigon, though it probably wont happen) and I'm set.

Lightning Rod is a surprising ability for M-Sceptile. At least Lightning Rod will make M-Sceptile immune to Thunder Wave. And it's already immune to Stun Spore thanks to being a Grass type. It'll be nearly impossible to paralyze it now, which is good for a fast Pokemon.

Mega Sceptile confirmed to be the new hard counter to Rotom-W?

There's so much hate for Mega Swampert, but a bulky Swift Swimmer with electric immunity is going to be insane, just saying. I don't care so much for its design but I'm going to love using it on rain spam.

Hopefully Diancie and its Mega get some sort of recovery through tutors to complement the new stat boosts. Mega Sceptile looks epic, this form looks like it would take on a special sweeping role that can utilize its new ability. Mixed wouldn't be bad either; Draco Meteor Sceptile anyone? And that Swampert. Increased bulk is what I'm seeing here with a possible decrease to speed despite Swift Swim.

Who will be blessed next in the upcoming leaks; Metagross, Milotic, Altaria, Mightyena? Mega evolutions seem like they are to compensate for the small number of new Pokémon introduced in this generation and I doubt Diancie, Sceptile, and Swampert would be the last to get some attention. Hoenn pokes sure love getting Megas, but will we see anything from Gen V?

Groudon/Kyogre appear to be formes, not Mega-evolutions.

Actually, serebii specifically states:
"Groudon & Kyogre's new "Mega Evolutions" are known as Primal/Prehistoric/Primeval Groudon & Primal/Prehistoric/Primeval Kyogre and are said to be a regression called Ancient Devolution"

There are quotes around the mega evolution part, so maybe its not confirmed yet and you could be right. However, i find the Ancient Devolution part extremely interesting. It makes me wonder what exactly they do the kyogre/groundon to cause this, and if it actually involves a mega stone. All those different names for them seem interesting as well.

MEGA DIANCE
That cool Fairy/Rock typing might finally be put to good use. Hang tight. (doesn't look all that different aesthetically though. Even Mega Kanga's baby out of the pouch is a huge change.)

Mega Swampert looks hilarious. But both aesthetically and competitively, it seems a lot like Seismitoad, only physical and with better stats. Hm.

Mega Sceptile. I am so happy. I love Sceptile but it always seemed meh, especially now that Whimsicott has robbed it of even the "fast Grass-type annoyingstallmon" niche. Lightningrod is huge because you don't actually have to run a boosting move on it. Fuck Rotomfuckrotomfuckrotomfuckrotom

I'm really glad they're giving a nod to continuity. Steven Stone, the stone fanatic, appears to be really involved in discovering the secret to Mega Evos.

Lastly.....R.I.P. Brendan. His hair is showing. I know the white stuff was always a hat, but giving him sideburns ruins the most interesting aspect of his design! For shame, GF. For shame.

EDIT; 2 minute paint job for comparison:
