Would a defensive (Mega) Tyranitar set have any merit on stall? I mean when looking at it in its base form the defenses aren't bad combined along with the Sandstorm boost and the mega form has an even bigger boost to its defenses. If said set were to be ran I think it would be something like Stealth Rock, Taunt, Pursuit, and Stone Edge. I know it has a lot of weaknesses but could this be viable or just a really bad experiment?
i've used this before and it's nothing special, it's pretty gimmicky though the bulk is pretty incredible* it's nothing great since it loses out on speed you gain from scarf and it's taking up your mega slot as well. scarf ttar + a different mega does a better job 99% of the time

*252 Atk Life Orb Technician Breloom Mach Punch vs. 252 HP / 4+ Def Mega Tyranitar: 328-390 (81.1 - 96.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO < that wasn't my exact spread but you can find it in cb hoopa's victim of the week if you want it

what are good partners for a Volcanion/M-Diancie core? Although specifics are welcomed I'd like answers to be more generic (as in you need a ground resist/immunity for example)

1) bulky Rocks setter. Preferably with Ground immunity ( Lando-T )
2) Steel-type ( Secondary Fairy check and Dragon resist )
3) Pursuit Trapper
4) Water check ( Thundy )
5) Defog user ( for Volcanion )

Wouldn't a spinner work better? You could have scarf exca and cover 2 and 5 at the same time sorta

Hi everyone! I've been away for about 2 months and I missed a lot of rank ups/downs. And since I don't want to read a bazillion pages of the VR thread, can someone please tell me the logic behind these ranks shifts (the banning of Hoopa-U, the raise of Rotom-W, the falls of Raikou and MegaMan, etc.)?

(I guess it could all be kinda related to Volcanion showing up, but I'll wait for someone to clear things up for me).

Thanks a lot!

hoopa got banned because it was suspected like 5 minutes after its specs set was discovered, rotom-w is good because everybody is spamming sand and lando-t, and sand is why electrics are ass right now as well as the increase of scarf/band tyranitar.

mega latias is really good now since more people are using it because of volcanion, terrakion is also great right now because teams don't really prepare for it and rock "resists" like lando-t and slowbro just get blown back

physically defensive tangrowth is also incredible rn because of sand / lando-t and the high usage of other great physical attackers like lop/mgross etc

volcanion also fits into the meta nicely, acting as a great glue in building and a really solid wallbreaker w/ specs, while also having some great defensive utility on defensive sets. other than that, not much else changed

also welcome back, wondered where you disappeared to D:

I am curious as to what role Scolipede fills in OU. I don't see how it is effective at all outside of hazard setting. I feel like it could be a wonderful threat in lower tiers, and I just wanted information about it. Thank you in advance.

Its a suicide lead, or its used as an offensive late game cleaner. Cleaner is the best set imo and it can be fun to use with the right support.

Scolipede is not in lower tiers because it was banned from uu. Viability in ou does not affect uu tiering decisions.

Hi everyone, I sred this 28/31/31/31/31/31 Modest Jirachi, and I was wondering what set I can use with it. CM Jirachi is still a thing? I was also thinking that, maybe, I could use the mixed set because it has 31 in Atk despite the nature. Iron head is such a good move on it... So, I would really appreciate any advice/comment. Thank you.

lure jirachi, and subcm or just normal cm are all really solid sets to use, especially on cart, so I think it's fine to run those sets.

edit: is there a way that we can make it so that whenever people travel to a subforum for the first time, the forum rules will pop up for them so they can read them? all of these threads posting questions that belong in sqsa are really annoying.

Hey guys so I need an opinion, I wanna use an Entei with Sacred Fire, Bulldoze, and Stone Edge but since I don't have access to Extreme Speed, I want to know if I should run an Adamant or Jolly, if I should run a Life Orb, Choice Scarf, or Choice Band and what the last move should be instead. Thanks!

I wouldn't run Entei if you don't have ExtremeSpeed. If you still decide to run it, Choice Band with a Jolly Nature is what I prefer, though Adamant is fine too. Because you don't have ExtremeSpeed, you can now use Iron Head, Toxic, or Flare Blitz as your last move.

Usually entei runs cb and tbf im not sure i would reccomend using entei at all if it doesnt have espeed. That being said the last slot should probably be either howl or flare blitz. Obviously if its howl you want to go lo. Not sure on ada vs jolly but jolly is probably better

edit: ninja'd oops

to reduce low kick / grass knot damage on the very uncommon occasion scizor switches into either of them.

really, it makes no different in any relevant scenario, but it's the most situationally effective ability (you're gonna be mevoing straight away anyway, so technician is pointless while swarm is total ass anyway)

You can't run Jolly on Entei: he gets Sacred Fire through an event, so you have to have Adamant

Would a Blaziken (not mega) with Speed Boost, Baton Pass and Focus Energy be accepted? Because I wanted to have a Blaziken like this:
Baton Pass
Knock Off
Focus Energy
Substitute

Speed Boost

Mental Herb

But I also thought of using Combusken with:
Baton Pass
Will-O-Wisp
Focus Energy
Substitute

Speed Boost

Eviolite

Is my Blaziken allowed and which one would you recommend? (Btw, I wanna boost a Kingdra)

Blazkien is banned regardless of what set you use.

If you want to use Kingdra don't use FocusPass just use Rain.

Hello,
I have a question about Breloom's Poison Heal set.
With this set :
Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 12 HP / 244 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Superpower
- Seed Bomb
- Facade

It is said that : "12 HP EVs maximize Poison Heal recovery."

However I don't understand why, I've search and couldn't find an answer.
Here are the small maths I did : http://puu.sh/oBePD/ddc3f07923.png
I don't get why you would need 12 EV in HP when 4 is the perfect rounded up value.
