You can call them uber all you want; it doesn't make them broken.

Anyway, I can't believe the horrible attitude so many of you people have about rulesets in general. Shaymin-s is a threat. The correct thing to do when faced with a threat is to attempt to defeat it. Try your hardest to defeat it and maybe even use it yourself. Just focus your hardest on winning, and see what happens. Only AFTER it's clear that the threat really can't be answered, which you should be able to back with clear objective evidence, should you be considering a ban. Bans are radical, last ditch resorts; it's really just sad to see so many people working toward a culture that bans out of convenience.

I maintain that the new Hypnosis accuracy was a great move by Gamefreak; now that 75% accurate Sleep Powder that is the pillar on which so many grass types are built stands out once again as a goto move for reliable sleep.

Then why did a bunch of good players who actually understand the metagame well enough to reach a certain record vote Chomp and Wobbuffet into ubers? If I recall correctly, you didn't even vote.

One person's definition of what is uber is not going to determine the tiering of every pokemon in the game. Everyone who voted was going by their own definition, which in the end will cause it to even out.
 
I'm noticing that the new Platinum species are duplicated twice at the bottom of the pokemon list in the team builder. It looks like the platinum.mod file was run twice (presumably by accident). I need to get these species cleaned up before I implement them on the Smogon and CAP server. I'm not going to finish it tonight. I've been working on this stuff all day, and I'm tired. I'll pick it up again tomorrow.

On a positive note, Colin and I got the new sprites working. So you should see the new Rotoms, Shaymin, and Giratina when you use them on Official. Once the other servers get working, they'll see the new sprites too. But, at least the question marks are gone.

Also, I need someone to update the new illegal move combos for Platinum.
 
Please dont turn this into a debate about Garchomp. It's brokenness has nothing to do with anything.

With the new Rotoms being usable, I want to know how Colin and Doug will collect their usage data. Will they be worked as one single pokémon, or as different pokémon? And what if I use a set with Discharge/Thunderbolt/HP Fight/Shadow Ball (with no special moves), but decide to use a Fan Rotom for it just because "it's the cutest of them"? It doesn't have any competitive relevance, yet it would skew the data.

I suggest that, if it's one of the new Rotoms, and it has a special move, then its usage would be for that form and that form only; but, once I stop using the special move, it should count as one usage for all the forms (excluding D/P one, of course). That way, we will know for sure which forms are OU and which are BL, with no skewed results just because Wash Rotom is the ugliest of them all.
 
I found it interesting that while laddering on the official server to test out my new platinum team that I have seen just about no garchomps. I guess the smogon crowd has flocked to official until we get it on official so nobody uses chomp.

Yea I also noticed that. I battled all day yesterday and didn't see a single lucario. And I thought people would start putting Ice Punch on SD Luke too.

And as for Garchomp, I still see a few on the official server.
 
Lol, Lucario gets killed by Earth Power. It can't kill Shaymin with ExtremeSpeed and Ice Punch comes after Earth Power. If Lucario has Shuca Berry, then Shaymin has Yache. Lucario loses.

first of all this makes no sense whatsoever, and secondly, why do you enjoy posting random meaningless theorymon so often? The current discussion wasn't even about "shaymin vs lucario" in the first place, seriously what?

Thirdly, if Lucario did have Shuca berry it would win anyway with Ice Punch and Extremespeed... not that I'm sure why you brought up Shuca berry in the first place, because for all intents and purposes it's an inferior option as long as you're not specifically trying to take down Skymin for some reason.
 
To be honest, I don't think Skymin will be Uber. If it does than Weavile is going with it since everyone is using it to stop Skymin.
