Pokémon GO

Wow, that's good news. Just please fix the drop rate for items. Potions and Poke Balls are obsolete once you unlock the better variants but they still drop too often

I read MORE items and MORE Stardust \o/
apparently nest Migrations happened and some stuff has been made more common where it wasn't before.... this explains the Bellsprouts then,
local caterpie nest is now Ekans.... blergh, only handy if an 80%+ spawns otherwise useless

they were never really gone, seeing more Ghastly then normal... and even a few meowth -_- did find a cubone as well.
but lots of Paras, Bellsprout and Nidorans around here.... city is still water stuff.

I'm actually glad to see that Pidgey and Rattata are back again. Gengar/Marowak/Persian aren't too good anyway, so why would I even need candy for those? I'd rather save up some Pidgey candy for mass evolving.

Wonder if there will be a Christmas event too, along the same lines? There aren't too many Christmas-y Pokémon in Gen I, but surely they could do the double candy thing again, without the changed spawn rates for certain Pokémon. Or maybe they'll do double Stardust or something.

(pre-)Ice types can certainly do well. Isn't Jynx Santa's helper in the first season of anime? Lapras was also featured on the same episode, I believe.

I sure hope for this to happen. My Dewgong needs backup and I don't care if we got infestation of Lapras. We already got too many dragons here.

Yes, but Gen I has amazingly few Ice types: Only five, one of which is Articuno. As for the four others, it's strange how they're from four different evolutionary families, yet three of them are Water/Ice. It's as if the designers used the Ice type as an "expansion pack" for Water types:
"These Water types are too bland. How should we spice them up?"
"Why not add an Ice typing to them?"
"All of them?"
"Sure! That way, there are some Water types that stay Water upon evolution, and some that gain an element of Ice. Nice and simple!"
"But what else should we do with the Ice type?"
"Else? What do you mean else?"

Ice: Continuously being screwed over and disregarded, since Gen I.

more jynx for everyone, the Lapras infestation will bite you on the arse when you need to level a Gym up to put something in and they are there.

oh and fast pokemaps is back, meaning I can just scan places randomly again ... santa monica is joke that place has more spawns in the scanning circle then in the entire city near me.
it also means I can check these freaking nests before I go to them to see how rubbish they are, turns out one hasn't changed at all, but, given how these nests are like 2-3 pokemon an hour its rubbish spending money and time going to them to find nothing.
I think Niantic need to understand that these map tools can help them with their vision, afterall, they want us to go out and about and look at things, we play this game to catch stuff, Niantic need to realise that the tracking system and map scanners help people go out to places.
what I do find odd is we have a large area of parkland, which has NO SPAWNS at all, and the housing estate next to it seems to be a clefairy nest still, the only local nest is on a golf course (as are ALOT of the decent nests) so we cant actually get to them.

More Lapras is always a good thing. It'll be a pain fighting them in gyms, but it'll help more in fighting against gyms then defending them, as with every Pokemon but Poliwrath. When using Lapras to take down gyms, it'll help a lot against all the Dragonites that plague the higher CP gyms, and also has a positive match-up against Gyarados, Vaporeon and Exeggutor, and Arcanine (despite Arcanine resisting all its attacks sans Dragon Pulse, Lapras still wins thanks to its giant HP). And of course, Lapras taking down gyms should beat a Lapras defending a gym assuming same stats and moves. Plus I rather see Lapras in gyms than Snorlax.

Also I still need Dewgong and Cloyster for my Pokedex, and don't have any of the ice-medals yet (I've hatched 1 Lapras and caught 7 Jynx).

From Serebeii:
Some changes to eggs have been announced for Pokémon GO. From now on, Rattata and Pidgey will never be found in 2km eggs anymore and, in addition to that, Eevee will now be found in 5km eggs rather than 10km eggs. The reasoning behind this change has yet to be announced but we'll keep you aprised on all developments

Very glad that no more Ratata and Pidgey will be in 2km eggs. No one should be sad about this.

Regarding Eevee in 5km eggs, this is probably better too since there they're usually a good hatch - there's also some gain from hatching them because Vaporeon is very useful, even if it's just for the candy. Definitely better than most of the 5km hatches; stands out as one of the best if you've filled in the Pokedex (I'm not there yet, still need Grimer, regionals, and some 5km evolutions / candy). In terms of 10k, helps for getting rarer stuff to fill in the Pokedex and of course the powerful Dratini, Snorlax and Lapras. Though to be fair, many of the 10k hatches like the Hitmons are useless once you've already got them in the Pokedex, and I would rather have Eevee over them. If it means a better chance of getting the stuff I want though, I'll happily accept it.

Now hopefully they'll eventually remove Zubats from eggs too.

I'm still missing a lot from eggs, mainly 10k's.. but a fair few 5ks that are key to completing the dex (fighting types... exeggcutes...
remove zubat? rather they remove Spearow from 2K... at least Zubat MIGHT become useful, unlike Fearow.

Actually, I think about the daily bonuses and thought of the implications.

This may make it easier to level up to at least within the range of gym contribution for new players. But somehow I fear it, I can't really tell why. While then again, less Pidgeys means less evolution EXP spree. I might not mind the extra stardust, but the extra EXP feels... scary, somehow.

Or maybe I'm already too comfortable with being Lv27 and not needing to level up much, although some of my 'mon have hit the cap and needs it higher.

I dont find the exp an issue, I used stardust and leveled up the pokemon, I rarely focused on getting exp to level up specifically, except during the revive drought to get some more :D and I discovered I had a 97% psyduck looking for stuff to evolve when doing that :D
so yea as it is right now, I leveled up last pokemon of the halloween event (last hour of it)
in the time between then and now:
maxed vaporeon with 9000 stardust
maxed Gyarados with 9000 stardust
added 4500 to slowbro
the extra stardust will be a godsend in me getting MORE stuff to maximum,
because I still have to use 9000 each on Hypno, Parasect, and Electabuzz, and Poliwrath and invest at least 13000 on golem. once that is done I power stuff up as I go to maximum, its here it gets difficult as I have another Electabuzz, a Blastoise, Dewgong, and Golduck all there or thereabouts but I have my Muk.... which I might level up next as its the 5th? best gym defender, and Flareon.
the more pokemon I can maximise... especially higher CP ones, means I can hold MORE gyms for longer, therefore increasing stardust even more as well as coin, which opens more options.

Wonder if there will be a Christmas event too, along the same lines? There aren't too many Christmas-y Pokémon in Gen I, but surely they could do the double candy thing again, without the changed spawn rates for certain Pokémon. Or maybe they'll do double Stardust or something.

You get presents at Christmas. And you know which Pokémon you get as presents in-game? Starters.

I can dream, Harold!

I got pretty lucky and got a gengar during the event. Maxed out the ground badge which is literally useless since I don't need any ground types to evolve. Have a total of 40-something bulbasaur candies due to the event, which is a pretty decent haul. To be honest, it really made me wish that everything was just 1 km to walk since it feels like you get progress much faster. Oh, and finally caught my first lickitung / evolved my first slowbro.

I really hope they up the candy / walk rate again during the winter holidays.

I don't need more items or balls... I need more Pokemon to actually catch :/ I have 150 Pokeballs and 100 Great Balls with nothing to use them on. I don't hit gyms (because shit here is dumb, one gym has 10 2000+ Pokemon) and I'd never stand a chance anyway.

I live in a city and even walking around I get probably less than 10 encounters when even right in the city centre. Improve the spawn rates for places out of the cities... Dear god give us some reason to go outside and look for stuff! There is far too much deadzone where nothing at all spawns. I don't know what people mean when they say "nests" cause I'm pretty sure I've never encountered a group of the same Pokemon in the same place.

My walk into town at lunch hits 4 pokestops, but if I get lucky I hit one (maybe two) Pokemon. So I never actually ever come close to running out of balls.

I'm critical on pokeballs, event has knocked my items out of whack completely, ended up with loads of potions.
Ninatic need to get the spawns right.. I can get a full sightings list around by house, and there is a road, where there is nothing for 10 minute walk, pokestop wise, that has loads of spawn points.
it needs to be balanced.

I'm actually glad to see that Pidgey and Rattata are back again. Gengar/Marowak/Persian aren't too good anyway, so why would I even need candy for those? I'd rather save up some Pidgey candy for mass evolving.
Hey! Whats wrong with Marowak??!! :'(

Dissclaimer: The above is a bit of humour please dont give me a CP and moveset analyasis , rubbing in the fact that he's pretty useless in this game lol!

I used a marowak to level a gym.. he wasn't as bad as I thought he would be
turns out the nest changes, the Elctabuzz nest i found, which was actuall fairly small, is now Cubone... thanx Niantic... now I can catch all the Halloween stuff still.. given Ghastly still spawn like crazy, and Meowths still turn up.
oh.. spawn points have now changed again.. STOP DOING THAT.

pokemon variety has been upped, apparently. I can't speak to it personally, but it was on their twitter. hopefully this means I can get more water mons (shellder and seel) on the beach now.

oddish nest (still haven't gotten vileplume) near to me swapped out but at least it turned into a squirtle nest

well since those spawns changed overnight I have the usual rubbish again (all the useless stuff including rattata and Pidgey) the diversity has gone

On a good side, apparently a spawn point is added within my reach on my bed. I can now open Go on bed and not just stare at gyms being jacked around or see little dragon far across a river.

I see regarding eggs, adding more 10km eggs is a good strategy. Many people don't use limited incubators for anything other than 10km ones. That said, I have one untouched 10km and I gave up after I realise I only have 5 more incubator attempts and a Rock Smash Pinsir -again-.

well 2 2K eggs hatched.. spearow and Weedle... what a surprise.. rather have the Pidgey and Ratatta
and the spawns relocating have not helped me much, there is now a bucketload near the supermarket 6-7 (even got Rhyhorn and Scyther) only 3 pokestops down there, there was 3-4 spawns around there, but further around so they were actually avoidable on refill runs.
oh and Mr Mimes everywhere in the city.. and Magnamites.
so, these spawnpoints, the one next to my house is spawning useless normal junk.... (thanx Niantic.. make Pidgey and Rattata rarer by spawning them there all the time...)
what I have observed then, with Scyther spawning where it spawned, is that I have Bug spawns... AND Grass spawns around here... which might explain the increased Paras rate, along with the water spawns.... ending up quite interesting... down to ONE pokeball, but caught 2 bulbasaur nearby (all rubbish.. as usual)... one 82%+ Bellsprout and also a squirtle and Beedrill on nearbys... (and a Rhyhorn.... but always seems to be a Geodude somewhere nearby most days... so I presume its linked to that).
which brings me to the point.. WHERE ARE MY EXEGGCUTES :(
o look some nolifer at silly AM has removed my Poliwrath from a gym because its the lowest CP thing... honestly Niantic need to sort this out system.. to me its now spoiling the game due to everyone just using high CP things, no matter how good they are, and leaving the decent stuff that is 2-3x more effective at the bottom.

Variety's definitely up; I've gone from only having the occasional Pidgey, Rattata and Jynx (Although I did get a random Vaporeon and Weezing before) to suddenly having 9 nearby!
