I agree with that completely. I also hope GF brings back Fog (aka the weather effect no one uses because you CAN'T use it) and makes it useful besides lowering accuracy.

One final thing I'm noticing is that a crapload of the new gen 5 pokemon get dual-abilities (except for legends, starters, and a few others like Gigaiasu). Perhaps game freak will give everyone 2 abilities, or am I just over-speculating?
 
I doubt that the sand abilities will be given to many or even any rock types this gen. I fill like it is more for ground types and will be pretty exclusive to the mole. I just feel like GF attributes sand more to ground than it does rock although it is a rock attack. However sand coulnd't be ground as it would question wether it would hit flying thus making it rock would trump any controversy. But I mean tyranitar causes sandstorms although it is never mentioned how or why. Meanwhile Hippowdon creates it do to him expelling it out of his body. Flygon in his dex entry is even said to whip of sandstorms. Well thats why I feel that the abilities will be targeting ground types giving them a boost in sand to compensate for rocks; but hey I could be wrong as GF can do what they want.
 
Sand Throw + Choice Band is probably the way to go. Sand Throw doubles your speed, and Sand Power likely only boosts Ground, Rock, and Steel moves by 1.5. Choice Band gives you the same boost as Sand Power, but for all your moves. Assuming it is Ground/Steel, it will probably run Ground / Rock / Steel moves, but the last move might be of another type (hopefully it gets Night Slash or Pursuit). If he has any kind of decent stats, he could be a real force.

Or sand power + choice band, cause since the ability would probably raise in 1.5 in sandstorm plus stab atack it could be a real force to deal damage right off the bat, getting a "double stab equivalent" on sand storm is nothing even funny... *cough kyogre on rain cough*, it just need some DECENT stats.

That said it looks like scarf heracross on paper, fast and dealing lot's of damage, but in reality it just incapable to muscle his way through his counters, which can be stated by heracross usage on OU right know, and by the fact that there are more versatile possibilities on OU that do essencially the same job... anyways let's wait and see.
 
If anyone gets Sand Stream, it should be Flygon, its Pokedex entries do say that its wings cause a sandstorm. But it would lose a lot of chances to switch in without Levitate.
 
Ok, I know you guys were talking about this in the last couple pages, but I missed out on it, and HOLY FAWK SAND SCATTER (Throw) is amazing and you can create your own profile :D Sweeeet. Again, please Lord let Moguryo's evo be Ground/Steel...
EDIT: Sand Scatter is a result during sandstorm, which means Flygon can't make a sandstorm and double its speed with one ability, lol. Sand scatter with sandstorm as a move works though, and equip it the item to make it last for 8 turns, although I see Life Orb still working better, and just call in Hippowdon for the SS, so I don't see Flygon getting Sand Scatter when it says he can make sandstorms... I hope that wasn't confusing
 
^ But it is weak defensively, so it needs to switch in on an immunity or a resistance.

Anyway, that's off topic. I just hope there's not too much more revolving around weatehr and accuracy.

I actually do hope that there is a lot revolving around them, since they are a cool topic. I love weather teams, they're my favorites.

It has levitate which makes ground moves miss.

Anywho BW metagame will lack some skill know because noobs can run a sandstream team and sweep late game with doryuzzu. Still I'm sure a counter should come in and neuter sandstorm next gen. Dream world altaria Air Lock poke plox

i hope someone else gets air lock, im not getting skullf*cked by team weak mainly to ice/fighting (Seperate Or In One)

but if they dont give him an evolution, then theyd better give cacturne sand scatter... oh wait! there goes sand teams hehehehe
 
if its any good, then it'll probaly have at least a gimmick. hell asumming its ground or steel/ghost, itll benefit from sandstorm, the now overbroken, god of wheater
 
Most Ghost-type Pokemon have low HP, so it's expected if Desukan is indeed a Ghost-type. It will probably have high defenses, similar to Spiritomb, Dusknoir, and Rotom-A. I don't see it being speedy, but it could have high Attack/Special Attack.

Sandstorm is not broken, we haven't even played the games yet. On top of that, not everyone Pokemon will have Sand Throw or Sand Power.
 
know who else should get an evo? shuckle. Just raise hp, and give it bug/steel, and the abillity heatproof. the ultimate wall. but it probaly wouldn't get heatproof
