If they did this for Sturdy, think of all the other possibilities; Illuminate, Pick Up, Keen Eye, Stall, and more...I may be in over my head, but with one ability change, others seem to appear just over the horizon.

Unfortunately, most of the pokemon who get Sturdy either wouldn't die in one hit or don't make very good leads. Does the ability still block OHKO moves, or is this a complete change to the ability? It may not matter in Shoddy and whatnot, and I don't expect anyone to know for sure, but it's just out of curiosity.

Did anybody else notice the new Miracle Shooter app? It apparently lets you use an item in wireless battles after you've acquired points through turns. To me, this seems like a load of BULLSHIT. It'll ruin competitive pokemon.
I only see this as something they just added for fun if your playing with friends via wireless(in the same room) I doubt anyone online will care for it much.

I'm so glad to see they are improving some abilities, if only they would tinker with a few weaker pokemon's stats >_>

I imagine that all Sturdy Pokemon now become rather effective leads. A brilliant strategy I've discovered with this upgraded ability is to attach a Custap Berry which activates at 25% HP. Next move used goes first. One-time use. This means that Sturdy leads can set up Stealth Rocks on the first turn and Explode on the second turn. I predict Golem rising in usage now!

Or better yet, smack a Cutsap on Forry and get your Rocks down AND your Spikes...

I'm gonna post this again before it gets lost in the Sturdy Shuffle:

I may be crazy, but in this picture courtesy Pokebeach, it looks like there's a Luvdisc next to him in that double battle (look at the thing getting zapped).

Maybe they are related like everyone is dreaming about.

I suspect Aggron, Probopass and Forretress are the biggest beneficiaries of the the Sturdy change. Now it's like Aggron can have a Choice Band and a Focus Sash on the same set. I'm sure that means a lot to a Pokemon with poor speed.

I'm pretty sure that's just the little dragon dude getting hit by an electric attack.

The ability Sturdy is now a built-in, automatic Focus Sash.

Holy ass muffins. I can't believe Game Freak actually did this. It's like Study Pokemon can now have 2 items. Skarmory, Magnezone, Forretress, Magnezone and Aggron, along with Pileofrocks. Something tells me we might be seeing something like 2 priority attacks on every time, but then again I'm just overreacting. Yes, I'm just a crazy... I'm just a figment of my warped imagination... Wheeee....

The only really MAJOR thing I can see changing in the metagame is skarm vs infernape. If skarms carry drill peck they could actually take out infernape and live through a fire blast if there were hazards beforehand

No, that's Kibago.

Although it will have to forgo double STABed Stone Edge (aka Head Smash).

If it is optional, I'm turning it OFF. Items are for pansies.

EDIT: Not hold items, shit like full restore.

:P

If they're jacking up abilities like this, is Pickup possibly an auto-Recycle? Could say, Linoone Sub down to 25% and get Salac boosts every turn?

It brings Vappy somewhat up to speed with Blissey though, being able to heal its own status. Slap Kingdra on the same team and you've got a pretty nice combo.

Oh, and it came from Serebii as far as I can see.

Gen V will have lot of changes.
First Sturdy. Yeah. Foretress will stay OU.
Hydration on Vappy. More Rain Dance team.
You can use items online. You can revive your sweeper. Then you get points. And your sweeper dies. Then you do the method again. Isn't that just cool? No, it sucks.
Zoroark's Illusion ability. It will make it OU.

I think all of these are cool except the items online play.

The Luvdisc evo also gets Hydration and a new ability Healing Heart.
And the new Mole pokemon also gets Sand Artilery which boosts atack in sandstorms.

Im telling you, 5th generation is the Messiah of Weather Teams, especialy if Castform gets a good evo this generation.
