I was merely speculating on your age, due to the way you were acting I assumed that there was no way you were over 15. But since I am unable to prove this and all I have is your word that your are as old as you say you are, I have no reason to doubt you. I didn't recognize that you had posted before hand because I mainly just read the posts, not who posted them.
Its OK, I forgive you. I just want to assure everyone that I am only here to help out and contribute intelligently to discussions.
For a fourth point, anyone who dismisses Rampardos as trash should consider the all-out suicide Choice Band set that could cause quite the stir in the early metagame. I think it goes something like this:
Rampardos @ Choice Band
Adamant - 252 Atk, 92 HP, 164 Spd
~ Head Smash
~ Focus Punch
~ Earthquake
~ filler
On first impressions, you may think this is a reckless and stupid set, and you may be right, but nobody can deny that it is also completely unexpected, and so potentially devastating that it can so easily leave the opponent short of at least one key Pokemon if they mispredict, or worse, not have an answer to it at all. The point of the set is that a fourth move isn’t required at all, as the first three hit everything at least neutrally, and HARD. As a result, NOTHING switches in safely.
Head Smash and Focus Punch both 2HKO Skarm, whilst the former can possibly OHKO if they don’t take care in maxing HP and Defense. Head Smash and Earthquake easily OHKO any Weezing, as well as 2HKO any Bronzong.
The idea is to try and get it in on Blissey, who will almost always switch out, then try and predict what comes out. The EVs give Rampy 358 HP, which allows guaranteed survival with Head Smash should Bliss stay in for whatever reason, and it also has enough Speed to outrun Skarm and others. If you ask me, when looking at the base stat spread, I reckon this is what Gamefreak created it for, then introduced Stone Edge, Rock Polish and Focus Sash to allow the more conventional sweeping alternative.
The question I put forward to all of you is this: what can safely counter this set?
My best effort so far is Focus Sash Empoleon with Aqua Jet. If Head Smash is picked, Empoleon will almost certainly end up in Torrent range, and so can Aqua Jet immediately after to OHKO a weakened Rampardos. If Focus Punch is picked, Focus Sash saves you and then you pick any attack you like without fear of getting hit, allowing you to use a super powerful Surf on the incoming opponent. Earthquake, however, is a little troublesome, as Aqua Jet will now not OHKO in return, and so Empoleon may be forced to carry more speed than I initially intended.
Thoughts!
