Hmm, it seems I've made a typo, I wanted to say "not" instead of "now".
And it's not that I believe Regigigas would 100% get a Sky Form and the like (both Giratina and Shaymin got them, though), but the fact that I was hoping the new movie would show something new in the Regigigas really upset me.
Of course, Darkrai didn't use Spacial Rend/Roar of Time in the 10th movie and we already know Regigigas gets Rock Slide/Iron Head/Icy Wind from the movie, so I shouldn't complain that much. Platinum will surely bring something new, even if it's just Attract and Captivate.

I agree with you there. However, for as lame as Iron Head/Icy Wind are for movepool additions, they do constitute an addition nonetheless. What sucks, though, is that in-game Regigigas might not be able to get these moves, anyway. Then we would have a problem, since you could only have 100 EVs max in a stat... and in THAT case, I'd hope that Platinum would offer the poor guy something new.
Well, considering there's so many things missing in Regigigas' movepool (Curse, Rest, Swords Dance, Explosion, Protect, Rest), they might give at least one of those to him. One of those moves would make the Regi 100 times more useful.
Damn, Game Freak really hit the nail on him. He only doesn't get exactly what he needs to overcome his Slow Start. We already have Farfetch'd and Luvdisc, we really didn't need another joke pokémon, lol...

Eh, there's a fairly good chance we'll get our own Regigiggles event in the States, given how good Nintendo has been about the other event Pokemon recently. And hey, Japanese ones are showing up in disturbing force on the GTS at the moment. So even if your country/area/whatnot doesn't get a Regigigas event, it shouldn't be too hard to get the gigas you need for Platinum.
Seems like nobody checks Pokebeach, they had someone at the movie and they said that there was a preview for Platinum and trainer sprites have animations! Pointless yet cool.

Oh, and BTW, the story about the Nintendo guy at E3 with a functioning build of Platinum was true. He even gave out a few copies to people in the industry and gaming press. Apparently is lacks the opening cinematic bit and you can't go anywhere but a few areas.
Huh, interesting. Looks like we get a flashlight for dungeon exploration... And the trainer animation is kinda cool. The Torn World looks bloody awesome - the sweeping camera rotation makes me wonder just how big that area is, though. Also, the bit at 0:35, where Giratina goes from Another Form to Origin Form with a sort of crystal in between? Maybe that's the item that corresponds to Shaymin's Glacidia Flower?
The most interesting bit is at 0:31, though - is that multiple Pokemon offerings on the GTS? Different parties for some sort of tournament? I'm really curious what that is.
The part at 0:31 is selection of Battle Videos from the Battle Recorder. Meaning you can save at least 5 videos at one time.
Giratina changing from Another to Origin was the best. Hope it's really an in-game cutscene!

That's what I thought as well. It's similar to Dialga's diamond scene and Palkia's pearl. I guess it's a hunk of platinum :/
I got a kick out of Pikachu turning around and waving at you when you send it out. Also Garchomp's sprite looks better than the old one.
I know this is stretching it, but I want music upgrades. After the Brawl Pokemon song remakes, these in-game ones don't sound as great as they used to.
I haven't been keeping tabs on this thread too much so I don't know if this has already been discussed, but here I go anyways.
What do you think about the future tier placement of Shaymin's sky form? We know for sure it gets Air Slash and Seed Flare, has Flying/Grass typing, and has Serene Grace, and I assume that its base stats will stay the same (I doubt Nintendo would leave the 100 across-the-board for a variation of Shaymin). I can see that it would easily be BL at the lowest, overpowering all of UU. Depending on what sets are created and how centralized it makes the metagame, it may shift to ubers even. However, I don't see that possibility as likely as it staying in OU.
A set I see working really well when paired with Dugtrio to get rid of Heatran/Magnezone/Metagross is:
Timid Shaymin-S @ Leftovers
252 HP / probably enough Spe for 300 Spe and then the rest in SpA
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Seed Flare
- Air Slash
If used properly, you can beat out Blissey with ease, as you'd be recovering more than 101 HP per turn. You could even run a Calm nature with some SpDef EVs so that Ice Beam wouldn't break your sub if you preferred, but that would probably take too much investment to make it worth it. With this set, you don't even have to worry about having to beat out Steel-types such as Registeel; you can simply stall them out with Leech Seed, Sub, and Air Slash.

I like the idea of the flashlight! Everybody hates using Flash in caves, but a flashlight item sounds like a perfect fit. It makes me wonder why they didn't do it sooner!
That giant, sparkly new GTS building sure intrigues me, too. I'm wondering if they'll update the Pokemon trade aspect to show the moves of Pokemon, like on the official web-based GTS?

I'd love that. I'd also like it if they showed the Pokemon's Nature. Using the GTS to hunt for legendaries with specific natures is way too random right now.
are there any previews or hands on articles available?
All I know is the new forms for Giratina and Shaymin look awesome, and I think Shaymin will actually be OU, probably not Uber since it would need something like Nasty Plot to even stand a chance.
No, they weren't showing it off officially. They'll be showing that stuff at an event other than E3 apparently.
In all seriousness, it's not like anybody who has access knows what we want to hear or can make usage of the game appropriately, anyway. They'll be too busy saying shit like "Wow! Animated trainer sprites and a new Poffin game!" and not "Wow! Autolevelling in offline battles and selectable music in all multiplayer fights!"

I think I mentioned earlier in the thread that should I obtain two, I'd be able to keep one for myself and sacrifice the other one to be cloned for the sake of the community. (A sacrifice because I don't believe in cloning.) Not available right now for a multitude of reasons. (Primarily, I will need to play around with cloning using my AR, but I'm also currently growing his Custap Berry.)
I'm wondering, though... how could these event Regigigas be spreading around on GTS if they come in a Cherish Ball? I thought that prevented pokemon like this from being uploaded...

It's not the cherich ball, it's the ribbon that pokemon like Darkrai came with. regigigas did not come with this ribon so it is able to be used in the GTS.
Ah, duh, figures I'd forget something like that. I blame Diablo 2, mostly. Couldn't even close my eyes last night without seeing Diablo 2 images floating over my eyes. (Unique Amn runes don't exist! Argh...) Should have gone through my Japanese Emerald game two or three times by now... but no, got sucked into hell... again...
(Actually... forgot the bigger problem that I still haven't pre-ordered a Japanese Pokemon Platinum! Prioritize, prioritize, prioritize...)
Anyways, sounds like GTS cloning this Regigigas can be done and that will be the preferred cloning method. (Unsurprisingly, still in the same boat ; will need to practice.)
