SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword and Shield Datamine Thread

While I am like 95% this stuff is real, as one of my friends noted elsewhere, the way this is being revealed is very weird to say the least. Like this seems very...memey at certain points and just overall kinda suspect. But we'll see by tomorrow.
At this point is pretty obvious that in order for this to be real they have access to a physical copy of the DLC

and yes I think is real; if physical copies of the X Box Whatever have leaked, then so can this

We, people from Europe, can't get our hands into the new context until 23rd, so I will be unable to see by myself, with my own eyes and at the same time as you, if there was some truth behind the horses. One way or another, it'll be a win-win scenario for us. If they are finally real, we've like... 3? Probably more, pages of people overthinking the matter and claiming the news to be fake with great impetus, an scenario that should be remembered in the future as our newest "Little Mac" example. If they are fake, it'll be also great, because amongst the multiple arguments that defended this posture, there was that of the 'laziness'. "A simple palette-swap Rapidash can't be a legendary; not even Game Freak can achieve this levels of laziness". Something around those lines if my memory serves properly. True or false, it'll either prove the unthinkable laziness of the company -not even on my own words, but those who thought of this to be fake-, or will grant us an enjoyable time at the sight of past overthinking comments.

This is what makes the forums a great place.

then why has he been uploading the model sprites and not the in game ones? like they did for early swsh?
You mean like that all white model from the bottom of the ghost horse? or the "neutral stance" of it and calyrex in a red background that's in the same style as pokemon as seen in the pokedex?

you tell me

I decided to take a proper look at the home renders for the legendary birds in order to help determine the validity of this leak and, well, I'm very uncertain now.

Just like every other home render in comparison to official art, the poses are the same but the proportions of body parts are slightly different (due to models not perfectly matching art) and the lighting is different too. The lineless job, if faked, is also extremely cleanly done. I wish they were posted in better quality but they look believable.

...I'm gonna be very disappointed come release, aren't I?

oh also seeing as this just popped up

it's not the same red and lacks the symbol present in the background, so that's not the case. the background was added to a transparent bg render as stated by centro

and I know that game freak is lazy but I think they wouldn't be that lazy as too be missing a whole piece of its legs

It's a ghost. By that logic they forgot to finish Porygon Z and Magneton as well.

  1. It's no secret that GameFreak has been stretching the definition of "ghost" terribly thin in recent years (koff Decidueye, Oricorio, Lunala koff).
  2. The missing ankles are a completely random design element. It would be one thing if multiple body parts were unevenly disjointed: if the tail were in several parts, if the legs were broken in different places, or if the animal weren't otherwise completely smooth and immaculate.
I'll grant that it is consistent with Drakloak's missing tail segment, but at least the Dragapult line has the spectral tail motif to build on it.
At least in these still images, "Spectrier" is an ordinary horse minus the ankles for no obvious reason. I can understand the criticism.

Well, the previews actually show the ingame models for the birds, and honestly they look pretty good
I was more meaning disappointed in black rapidash being real :( hoping it actually somehow turns out to be like a special rapidash to excuse this, diancie is sorta like a special carbink so it's not entirely baseless

As for the folks saying the Galarian Birds' shinies are lazy and Game Freak wouldn't possibly do that...

laughs in Alolan Grimer and Galarian Stunfisk

Just heard from DuncanCantDie's livestream: someonw mentioned the leaks and he said he wasnt going to say anything because TPCi is going on a sueing spree, and he doesnt want to deal with that. Sooooo....

Soooo... exactly nothing new compared to the previous datamines and leaks?
Popular streamers / sites aren't allowed to risk getting sued as they actually are public personalities, random nobodys on twitter, reddits and forums barely care.

If there's lawsuits involved, then that proves its validity outright. They wouldnt bat an eye if it was fake, but if its genuine, then the nintenjas come out in full force.

If the lawsuit reports are true, then TPCi is sure as heck different from Wizards of the Coast. The only time I saw Wizards shut down a Magic: the Gathering leak before it released everything it could was the very recent opening and auction of Commander Legends cards this week, and the only other legal/shutdown/tournament repercussions I saw of a MTG leak were those for the New Phyrexia godbook leak.

You know what that means regarding Wizards of the Coast: leaks of real and playtest cards are basically ignored in comparison.

I assume the 3 new legendary are shiny locked, but what about the Galarian forms of the birds? I also assume shiny locked. Any word on the other legendary that you can catch? Not shiny locked like Ultra Sun/Moon?
