I'm sick of TPCi doing this, why couldn't they just reveal the locations when HG/SS came out instead of making us wait. I know I'm not the only one who wants them to reveal them already... I'll be pretty pissed if TPCi doesn't reveal them this weekend...

Because they're organizing and holding free events for you to play at and enjoy right. Why don't you just try and be patient with this instead of getting all pissed off at everything. I'm sure organizing this junk is no easy task.

Okay, I didn't win UK last time and was really disappointed as the level of competition for the most part didn't seem that high. I want to make sure I'm more prepared this time and have a really good team. I'm going to start being fully focused on VGC2010 stuff now, instead of just dabbing into it.

What're the most successful / generic teams being used at the moment?

I'd expect a lot of bulky offence and maybe some Trick Room, but what else? Are leads similar to '09? Can we get away with frail Fake Out users any more?

I'd really like to get some help with planning :)

How can you be so sure I'll even play? 2 years in a row I wasn't picked :/

That Seattle link is broken for me, it just redirects to Seattle Center's home page which is worthless. Is there any other link?

Gah I realllllly don't wanna buy and play through HGSS I was almost hoping there wouldn't be one 20 minutes from me...

Edit: okay they definitely took that link down because I looked on the site and it said "gaming event" on the would-be date when every other event had a link a specific details. I'm guessing TPCI will make sure other venues don't spoil the surprise as well so probably no point in looking?

The fact they took it down probably means that the qualifiers wont be announced for a while then... wouldnt they have just left it if they were going to be announcned soon anyway?

Well, I'd say the fact that it was taken down after a leak makes it 100% confirmed, but I'd still like to see an official listing from TPCi. If it is, I'll gladly make my reservation for Seattle. :)

No, certainly nobody will use that because your weather won't be there consistently and because it's a waste of turns.

Also Havak, I wrote you a PM. ;)

Last year, the UK National was accidentally posted up early by TPCi. However, it turned out to be the same place once they re-updated the listings. I'm pretty sure that's where one will be, in Seattle, they'll just have been asked by TPCi to take it down until they've made the official announcement themselves (which could well be this weekend anyway).

Also, cheers drug_duck :)

Just out of interest as i know this will come up in this topic sooner or later, does anyone know how the japanese registration process is done?

I mean we are all hoping the lottery system won't be the same as last years events but I was just curious to know whether or not Japans entry system maybe similar to ours and if so giving us a rough indication on how ours will be carried out.

What's with the sudden interest in people traveling to Seattle? Chances are there will be regionals closer to home for some members. Just because Seattle is the only stop, unfortunately for Pokemon, that was leaked doesn't mean it is the only option.

Because, as far as I know, there are less good players there compared to the East Coast (I can think of about a dozen people I'd rather NOT battle in an East Coast VGC regional.)

And, for me, it'd be a chance to get to see Cliff Lee pitch. I'd go for more than just a VGC stop - I'm sure there's enough to occupy me for a few days.

I went last year, and i loved the place. Best toast in the world i swear!
Sense i was there last year, i just thought i should keep consistent.

Because Seattle is by far the easiest stop, and some players(nobsack) are scared to get oned by me in Philly :)

itt: Bluecookies proves himself to be an idiot.

I know you play poker, so you have to be aware of the following rule:

"If you have a choice between a table with 8 pros and 8 fish, you pick the table with 8 fish."

I'm not stupid - there's about a dozen people I'd have to play against here who can stop me from making the finals, and Seattle will be, by comparison, a cakewalk.
