Pokemon X and Y has just been announced!

Surprisingly fast for a new generation to be released. Maybe this will be the moment where I'm gonna buy a 3DS... We'll see.

I'm gonna try not to look at any of the preview Pokémon, just to keep the game more or less a surprise. Let's see if I'll manage.
 
Looks pretty cool. Going to have to buy a 3DS now -.-
Anyways I just hope they don't change up stuff for the worse. I am at the moment skeptical. How this 3D world will feel or encountering wild Pokemon.
 
Chespin: Grass/Ground, looks like a groundhog
Fennekin: Fire/Psychic, Ninetales done right
Froakie: Water/Ice, ice frog

troll predictions:
Chespin: Grass/Fighting. I can totally see this thing with boxing gloves
Fennekin: Fire/Electric, Electrike fox form
Froakie: Water/Flying, the collar kinda looks like a cloud
 
The 3D in the trailer looks awesome, but I said that about 5th gen too and we saw how that turned out.

I guess I need to get a 3DS though...

It has not ended so you have to add still days to the generation V counter until the "american release date" is set (somewhere around october)... so... definitely shorter!

Pokémon has become so routine, the names have been reduced to simple variables.

Not even trying anymore.

(Starters look dumb as usual, but Chespin looks like it might have potential. Hope it isn't just Oshawott 2.0)

Mind if I? Muk = Muck, Grimer = Grime, Mewtwo = Mew 2, Magneton = Magnet, Belsprout = Bell + Sprout, Articuno = Artic + 1, Zapdos = Zap + 2, Moltres = Molten + 3, Voltorb = Volt + Orb...

Pokemon Red = Red as in Charizard, the cover pokemon. Pokemon Green = Green as in Venusaur, the cover pokemon. Pokemon Blue = Blue as in Blastoise, the cover pokemon. Pokemon Yellow = Yellow as in Pikachu, the cover pokemon.

If all of you guys are going to hate on something, that's alright. But don't be stupid about it.
 
Wow, that Flying legendary... So awesome.


I'm hoping for these type combos somewhere:
Fire/Grass (a sadly untapped potential)
Fire/Water (maybe something to do with steam?)
Fire/Ice (would suffice)
Dragon/Fighting (Awesome + cool)
Ghost/Steel (machine spirit? Related to rotom, perhaps?)

Any of those combinations would be great...
 
That "You'll get to see some of the old Pokemon" thing has me worried. Is that some Pokemon in the regional dex or some Pokemon in the National Dex? A game without Eeveelutions isn't worth playing, IMO.

Anyway, I want Fennekin because it's a fox but Chespin is awesome, too. Maybe I'll just get both of them and then 6 other Pokemon to make a party of 8 like I had in W2.
 
its p obvious already that it's gonna be XYZ, focusin on length/height/depth :v and this is also the first 3D game, so...

I really like the grass starter but God knows I can't start without the fire starter. I need a 3DS now.

game freak doesn't give a fuck and does what it wants



It looks like the fire mon uses a psychic move and the grass mon uses a dark move in the trailer, which i guess indicates Fire/Psychic, Grass/Dark, and Water/Fighting (a double-trio triangle-ish thing)

X and Y chromosomes, as we can see that DNA thing on Japanese logo.
so possible sequels are XY and XX.

I bet the flying legendary is related to Pokémon Y (with the Y-shape and all), and the stag legendary is related to Pokémon X (with the frizzy-looking X-shape corresponding with the antlers)
 
to me XX/XY would be really unlikely considerin how asymmetric it is: its givin preference to the X pokemon and whatnot. although i guess they could go with XX/YY somehow; i mean, after all, its pokemon. anythin can happen.

it'd be nice to be surprised
