Yo-Kai Watch is not a Pokémon game, and there is very meaningful gameplay differences that liking one does not even begin to suggest liking the other. This coexists with my original point that it counts as playing pokemon.
Another example is Dominion counts as playing mtg draft. They are similar enough in stylistic intent and overall presentation that their genre still overlaps in this referencial genericization of the trademark. It's the same thing as calling a PlayStation Portable a gameboy. Technically wrong, but not really in any relevant way.

Personally I think the new Powdered Puff script is great. I love reading wrinkly ass grown men's attempts at writing teenagers/young adults. It has this strange charm to it. Like I'm reading something simultaneously detached from the characters and deeply obsessed with them, in the way that boomer comics are all "haha children swipe the book like ipHone!!" and then they have to get lectured by their zoomer grandchildren on why the Nigerian prince emailing them about a wealth of gold being shipped to them for only 1000 bucks isn't actually real

Also reverse discrimination is an actual set of words in an actual script in an actual show and I fucking adore that

I didn’t mean to make it sound like that. In hindsight that was very disrespectful. In a perfect world we’d have the family time but without the virus itself. My apologies once more to any whom I offended.
