Legends Arceus catching being "faster" isn't a good thing

turn based rpgs are not fast and shouldn't be

you just dont like turn based rpgs, which is unbased (turn based RPGs are goated)

and b4 someone says some shit like persona 5 that game is about the same speed

but that isn't bullying, that's just normal social interaction

depends on the situation ig. people on this forum complain about being haha reacted and call that a form of bullying. likewise, you can't dog on someone for having a silly or meaningless idea for a change that ultimately boils down to semantics (iykyk). i personally think these both of these should be allowed as i would rather post on a forum and get dogpiled for something relatively silly than receive the humbling, "I see you, i hear you, and this is valid" hugbox response that will only cause me to bring these ideas into the real world

small amounts of bullying are vital to the well-being of our society. as another poster once told me, bullying is just negative feedback from your peers. as long as the target is being made fun of for something they control (e.g. an idea) it should be celebrated.
if i was bullied more, maybe i wouldnt have been so cringe. we need to bring bullying back
jokes aside, i agree with you, but bullying includes physical abuse, and i dont think you can call that vital to the well being of scociety.

as someone who loves turn based rpgs, legends arceus shaked up the format, and did so very much succesfully. just because it isnt broke dosent mean you shouldnt fix it. games require norms to be broken, otherwise things get stale.

And it was a wildly different game to begin with.

A lot of mons that are better as utility mons would completely lose their niche if all games worked like Legends.

For example, Jumpluff is incredibly useful in Colosseum because of its fast Sleep Powder and EQ immunity, so it helps a lot when it comes to catching tricky mons.

Also, overworld mons are a lot more passive in games like SV, so the advantage is massive for the player. SV itself is a good example of it since you can get a free hit on most wild mons.

Legends arceus is a great game. It incorporates stealth into both its collectathon and exploration elements in a way that feels so natural. Instead of preventing you from going into high level areas, it discourages you with alpha pokemon, telling the player that this way will be harder. Its turn based system is similar to pokemon, but just different enough to shake things up, and it is still fun. As for pokemon losing niches, that dosent matter in a game where you cant even battle other people. And this is a problem in the original pokemon games too. It has fun and genuinely chalenging action elements. And there are so many small details added in the game that add to the experience. again, just because the system works dosent mean you cant improve or change. and if it isnt for you, thats fine.

1. nah it sucks
2. Stealth is impractical just use smoke ball rather than actually sneaking
3. The exploration sucks because nothing to find
4. Alpha Pokemon are not more of a threat because they will not force you into battles
5. The turn based system is worse, literally sub-Gen 1 in terms of depth. Zero depth. Click fast into strong style.
6. It does matter because it means less things are viable and fun
7. Yes, but they were the original Pokemon games from 1996 and 2002
8. Smart details like what? Having to do a grind for every dex entry? Fetch quests? Bad health system? Stiff movement? Bad menu controls?

I vehemontly disagree.

1 no it dosent
2 dont use smoke ball if it ruins your fun
3 you have to explore to find diffreent pokemon
4 alpha pokemon can stop you from running away
5 you are very much oversimplifying it
6 whens the last time you used carnivine in a playthrough? Plussle? Maractus? also, you dont have to worry about viability in a single player game. i dont see youngster joey building a competitive team.
7 see 6
8 if you take fall damage near a chansey, it will come to your aid. before you engage them, nozepass always face north. mr mime will start doing miming actions after a while, like pretending to drink tea while sitting down. chimecho will alert other pokemon. you take your shoes off when you enter your house. shall i continue?

no, pokemon isnt broke and you shouldnt fix it
agree, pokemon probably has the best turn based battle mechanics system ever developed imo (with mainline SMT a close second fuck modern persona and the social sim shit) and there was really no reason to change it for a game that was closer to a main series pokemon game than the spinoffs (more like LGPE than ranger or conquest for example). its too bad because the setting is nice and the hisuimons and questlines are kinda cool, but the mechanics just suck

I think it should be okay to call someone out in strong terms for having an abjectly stupid idea, but not really anything beyond that. I'm not a fan of the whole "constant validation" thing either but people can be very cruel to others over a long period of time, and most of the bring back bullying people are obnoxious and if anything are the ones who should be dogpiled on for having stupid ideas. Or they are people who were bullied and developed a kind of fucked up inferiority complex, which is a bit sad.

i never said pokemon was broke. but by your logic, the mystery dungeon series shouldntve been made, because they differ from the standard pokemon gameplay.

pokemon mystery dungeon isn't pushed by people to replace the main series

people didn't say "scarlet and violet should have PMD dungeons" like they did "scarlet and violet should have legends arceus catching"

though honestly I think with a 2/3 year dev time game freak could actually pivot to roguelike Pokemon if making big worlds is just not gonna work, and I'd probably accept that way more than Legends Arceus' approach

i dont think pla gameplay should replace the main games, but i do think its cool.

Literally just run lol, you should almost never be in a scenario where you even need to press the dodge button unless you want to because it is fun in the same way that Ocarina of Time rolling is fun

Throw a smoke ball rather than actually having to do stealth, and just throw a Pokemon and battle if its convenient, which it's convenient

Unless it's a bossfight of course but that's not even able to be done with stealth and makes u probably 1% of my playtime

again, if smoke balls make the game unfun, dont use them.

Coming back here to voice my opinions on the Pokémon Legends situation. It’s probably my favorite Pokémon game on the Switch, but I think a lot of its appeal comes from the fact that it doesn’t feel like a Pokémon game at all, really. I think it does a pretty good job telling a new story that still manages to expand on an older one, but in good faith this game does still have its flaws. As enjoyable as the fresh gameplay is, it can get a bit repetitive the longer you play, and I would also argue that the game lacks a lot of content beyond the main story quest.

The thing about BDSP and Legends being such different games that came out around the same time is that nobody ever said you had to buy both. Granted, this is Pokémon we’re talking about, but for as much crap as we give the Sinnoh “remakes”, this is the first time in recent memory fans have had an option of what kind of gameplay they’d like to experience. Base game Sword/Shield and base game Scarlet/Violet don’t really know which direction they wanted to go in on either end of that spectrum.
