Sports Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread

Pretty regular watcher of Raw, been following TNA recently out of boredom, its pretty bad. Not saying Raw is better. I see Smackdown here and there, usually miss it due to the fact that I don't like a lot of those guys... CM Punk, Hardy (Jeff), etc. Really big fan of Morrison though, he's awesome.

All of the televised shit is... well, shit right now. DX is coming back...... "yay".

I'm about to start ranting so I'll just leave my 2 cents in about tonight's Raw.
- Worst. Host. Ever.
- Mark Henry is a cool guy (I've met him IRL twice) and he's finally getting his first face push since Sexual Chocolate about 10 years ago. Or at least he was, now he has been reduced to Chavo's level of wrestling(with) midgets. He's not the best I know but his Gimmick isn't too bad, better than most Monster characters they have out there (Khali?). I always smile when I see him out there, you can tell he is loving where he is at right now, he is having so much fun.

- DX time filler is time filler.

- Women's 4way was excellent except for that whole lets roll up in a circle debacle. Gail Kim finally getting the push she deserves? She's barnone the best the WWE has to offer (Beth + Gail rivalry would be amazing)

- Eugene. Ugh. The retard gimmick was never good to begin, I still facepalm everytime I see it. It's almost as bad as the One legged wrestler of years past (Zach something)

- Miz! Not really a fan, he's annoying and I don't really find his matches entertaining in the slightest... but he had the best moment of the night. The Miz is back and I'm AWESOME

- Jack Swagger. Oh Swagger, I adore you so, stop making him beat up that Geeky wrestling loser.

- Masterpiece. Always been a big fan, I like MVP as a face too, always bored the shit out of me as a heel except for that Matt Hardy Rivalry... and that was only interesting cause Matt Hardy is great. Back to Masters.... he should be a bigger star, he performs pretty well and his gimmick is hilarious and hes pretty much what McMahon has had a Boner for since the 80s, muscled freaks. Kinda fucked himself over with all the drug shit which is probably the reason why hes not higher up, but I'm glad hes back.

- Not really gonna touch the "Main eventers" cause they were fucking boring as always, except Big Show owning Orton at the end was pretty priceless. Wow I think this might be my longest post ever.

Happy that Miz is back, though it's a little weird that, uh, he was gone in the first place? What was the purpose of this >_>

Swagger/MVP should be godly but it's weird to see Swagger beat Bourne so decisively. I mean I like it, but Evan's status right now is really... strange... didn't he basically squash Kofi a few weeks ago? Also, what the everloving fuck was with Swagger's gutwrench powerbomb on Bourne? did anyone else notice gravity temporarily going into overdrive or something, that looked fucking ridiculous

the fact that Jericho has never beaten John Cena is one of the most depressing things in history. though I'm pretty much a mark for Cena and Orton teaming up, no lie

ECW was cool, especially because of the crowd. Shelton getting the huge cheers he pretty much completely deserves, and that was a good match despite how relatively short it was so I definitely hope that feud continues. Last ECW I have like no idea what they were even trying to do, with some weird mutilated half-hearted face turn for Benjamin... why does Abraham Washington exist >_>

happy about Regal being #1 contender, and very happy to see the Regal Stretch again. I still loved him sweeping the KotR tournament with that move, and, you know, absolutely everything that followed because Regal is one of the most amazing heels ever

also yay, Helms wrestling again apparently is always great. I'm still waiting for Burchill to... actually matter though... he's pretty good.

Chris Jericho has beaten John Cena you have to remember WWE likes to three month rule things. Remember that Edge and Christian are no longer brothers. :(

On August 15, 2009, Pittsburgh-based NBC affiliate WPXI reported that Angle had been arrested. His girlfriend Trenesha Biggers, known in TNA as Rhaka Khan, stated that she had filed a protection from abuse order and that he was stalking her. Angle was charged with "driving while operating privilege is suspended, prohibited acts-possession, harrassment and prohibited acts". Hygetropin, a human growth hormone, was found in his car; Angle maintained that he had a prescription for the drug.[125]

Well I guess once you go Black you never go back. It seems Kurt Angle's stalking character from 2005 hasn't gotten out of his system.

Paul is fucking incredible when he isn't getting handcuffed moves wise.

As a random fact: he can do a standing SSP without fucking it up.

they let him do some pretty great stuff when he was a pirate, didn't they? I actually don't really remember much besides his finisher but yeah

Yeah Paul Burchill is good I really hate how is used. Also the most underused wrestler in the WWE award has to go to Jamie Noble. Jamie Noble is a very talented worker.

Yes and when Jamie Noble won the ROH World Championship in a match against CM Punk, Samoa Joe, and Christopher Daniels he said "This moment right here is even better than Wrestlemania!"

Elijah was pretty good at the Steel Asylum thing at the PPV but I still dont understand his new persona "the pope" Diangelo Dinero seems iffy too me

I remember in all his blog posts and stuff while he was in the WWE (but not getting much if any TV time) he constantly referred to himself as "The Black Pope."

Yeah Elijah Burke always refers to himself as The Black Pope. What surprises me though is that mofo can send an updated text message right away after he was in a car accident. >_>

well it wasn't terrible

Punk/Hardy stole the show 8/10
Cena/Orton was decent 6/10
DX/Legacy was pretty good 7/10
Regal/christian was horrible 0/10
Kane/Khali was horrible 1/10
Ziggler/Mysterio was very good 8/10
JeriShow/Cryme tyme was...meh 4/10
MVP/Swagger was good but short 5/10

didn't really see much if ziggler/mysterio, rather disappointed that ziggler didn't win but oh well.

I thought Jericho and Big Show vs Cryme Tyme was really good. Maybe a little worse than the DX/Legacy match (which was good), though that was quite a bit longer I think.

Kane/Khali was good for what it was. they kept it short and had them actually... do stuff. so that was fine I guess

MVP's part of the backstage segment was amazing, but yeah, their match was too short. oh well...

Cena/Orton was great. not an amazing match or anything but the whole "let's stuff as many ways to fuck this match up as we can" thing was amusing. less amusing was Regal/Christian which was a ridiculous disappointment. I really just won't even mention that any further lol

Punk/Hardy was very solid. I was totally 100% expecting Matt Hardy to betray Jeff again, so in a way I was disappointed, but in a way I was happy that Punk got a clean win. Punk/Undertaker should be amazing and really elevate CM Punk to where he deserves to be-- that promo in the middle of the show was godly.

whoaaaaaaaaaa...

also, is tna's best match always a women's match? daffney vs whoever was like twice as good as everything else, it was crazy.

Keep in mind their policy has been known to include useless shit like Weed. Painkillers probably though for knees, as mentioned.
