Welcome to the Quarterfinals (and following; we'll do Semis and Finals in this thread as well) of the second annual Random Battles Classic Open! This tournament is your chance to showcase your skills in the first 5 generations of Randbats, from RBY through BW2, in a best-of-5 series. The first player to 3 wins advances to the next round!

This tournament is part of our ongoing Rands Slam circuit. Stay tuned after this tour for news about the next one, and check here for previous rounds.

Remember: to be legitimate, ALL SCHEDULING MUST BE DONE ON OPPONENTS’ SMOGON PROFILES.

Each generation will be played one time, with no repeats (so series that go to a 5th game will see players play all 5 of the oldest Randbats formats). The order of generations does NOT need to be chronological. Instead:
1. Contact your opponent (if you are unsure as to how to schedule with an opponent; follow this guide which will explain how to schedule in detail) and determine which generation will be played first. If both players cannot agree on a format, use the command “!roll 5” on PS to randomly pick a starting generation.
2. Battle each other in the chosen generation.
3. Loser picks the next generation to play. Battles continue, generation by generation, until one player has 3 wins.
1. All scheduling attempts MUST be done publicly on Smogon Walls. No other proof of communication will count for act calls regarding scheduling attempts.
2. If you participated in the Random Battles Multi-Format Open and have since changed your Smogon name, LET US KNOW in your signup post.
3. You MUST post replays of your wins.

We strongly recommend familiarizing yourself with the Smogon Tournament Rules and General Guidelines, if you haven’t already. If you have further questions, don’t hesitate to contact the tour hosts, MaswoodShaheb and myself, here on Smogon.

Loser's post:

First of all: GGs to Michael, gl in the final!

I had a great time in this tour! As someone who recently came back to playing competitive pokemon, this was a great tour to freshen up some old gen mechanics in a more lower stakes environment in the beginning rounds, and still providing those strong competitive vibes in the later rounds.

Thank you to the hosts for providing a fun time and making the tour run very, very smoothly

Cya all in the next tour!

As it has been done before ima do a losers post

First thanks to Mas and Sharpie for doing this tour it has been an amazing one and a great run for me. Also thanks to everyone who got in for making this tour a great one.

Then all best of lucks to my opponent dnb who played really well and finally got me, good luck in finals man.

won in 5 vs lamp, ggs. i could say confidently for my last series, i outplayed 3 games and that's why i won. i can't say the same for my series vs lamp, and i apologize for all the luck in the series.
(didnt save gen 5, whenever i lose i go outside and scream at my lawn mower)

Matchups: ROUND ROBIN. The player with the best overall record this round wins the tour! As we're not tracking differential, if there's a three-way tie, the round robin repeats.

Congratulations, MichaelderBeste2, on winning the second annual Random Battles Classic Open!! A hard-fought journey through an enormous tour, with a commanding performance in the final round. Well done!

Thanks and kudos to ALL our competitors, who made this tour as thrilling as it was. And special gratitude to my co-host MaswoodShaheb, without whom I'd be lost forever, as well as Irpachuza for their hosting guidance and Rage for the many late-night bracket-making requests. That's a wrap on RCBO2!

hint for next tours, just name you i will not win 69 and Wigglytuff has no chance :]

Just joking, ggs to my friend Wiggle the Riggle and gl in next tours, your journey was insane, I watched each game and loved it

Congratulations MichaelderBeste2 for winning the second annual Random Battles Classic Open, putting on spectacular performances throughout the tour and entertaining us all thoroughly!! A well earned and hard fought victory indeed n.n

A huge thank you to all our participants for bearing with us throughout the tournament, through all the mishaps, delays and mess ups (mostly done by me ofc) and for pulling through every week and putting on great matches for everyone! A huuuuge shoutout to my co-host sharpclaw for being super patient and understanding with me and ensuring everything went smoothly, to Irpachuza and Rage for their constant guidance and support through out the tour and to Pujo for the tags and bracket making c:

This was oodles of fun to host and we hope you guys will make every other tour in the circuit as big of a success as this one was! Thank you all once again and ofc, Gm.
