Is Eviolite Wartortle significantly more bulky than Blastoise? If the answer's no, then there really isn't a reason to use it considering the loss of Leftovers.

Random calculation:

Pikachu's Thunderbolt on Eviolite Wartortle:
63.2% - 75%

Pikachu's Thunderbolt on Lefties Blastoise(using the same EV spread):
69.8% - 82.6%

It's not really that big of a difference, and frankly Blastoise is still as bulky as Eviolite Wartortle...

(I know nobody uses Pikachu, I just pulled a random mon out of my ass)

Man, I just saw Eviolite Natu. IMO, it can do most of the Xatu sets just as good as Xatu itself (though no Light Clay = bawww). But Xatu's main attack was Night Shade anyways, so Natu's lower offenses dgaf. Besides, Natu's the only Magic Bounce thing we have left down here. :/

I don't think I'm desperate enough for Magic Bounce to use something that's otherwise so bad.

I have never seen light clay been used or discussed before so.... What does light clay do exactly? Please and Thank you once you answer.

Porygon-Z was awful in Gen 4. Good players didn't use it.

I thought that was the case in OU, where it was forced to play after it got BL'd. In UU, I thought because of the Alakazam levels of special attack, combined with the lack of weakness against pursuit and better bulk in general, made Porygon-Z a monster that could tear down special walls like Chansey, or if you gave it Choice Scarf, could raise hell against offensive teams with a double-STAB'd Tri-Attack.

Speaking of the BL tier, which pokemon do you expect to end up on the RU chopping block? I bet Yanmega is suspect.

We'll have to see who rises to UU first. Specs Tinted Lens Yanmega is probably the only thing close to being broken imo (and that is very debatable) so no I don't think anything is up for the chopping block.

Yeah, after (presumably) Lilligant and Venomoth rise to UU, they only thing that I can see being a suspect is Yanmega. It has two very good sets it is capable of abusing.

It increases the duration of Reflect and Light Screen from 5 turns to 8.

This isn't really a RU question. Btw most of your questions are better meant for the simple question, simple answer thread. just saying.

Ok, thank you for answering. Next time I have a question, I will ask it on ask a simple question get a simple answer thread. I'll try not to clog this place with my silly questions as much as possible.
...................oops

I've actually been playing this tier quite a bit and have made a team that is literally undefeated- I won't post it, you know, so it can stay that way, but it's remarkable how many teams are unprepared for offensive hail. I'm not sure if anybody else has been using anything similar but it has the potential to knock some huge holes in most teams and then clean up with an ice type scarfer or something.

Hail teams have been non-existant lately. Haven't ran into one since the early days of RU. I would love to know what your experiences of using a Hail team have been because I've never used one in RU yet, me being guilty of dismissing them as toothless and ineffective but I'd love to be proven wrong.

I've only battled one Hail team so far. It was a defensively orientated Hail team, and I wasn't prepared at all for it if I'm honest, and I really struggled. This was a few weeks back now though. I've not seen any since.

In the early days I was using Hail stall, and had great results with it (topped 70 although it isn't extremely great, i still feel it's a small accomplishment) If built right, Hail can mess with people since weather is pretty much non-existant in this tier outside of the random Rain teams that are abusing Swift Swimmers. I have yet to try out an offensive Hail variant, but I'm definitely going to try looking into because, even though they have so many common weaknesses, Ice is still my favorite type in the game (looks at name >_>) lol

Hail can be pretty dangerous in this tear, as it is the only auto-weather in the tier, and there are many pokes who can abuse it. Rotom-F is a great one, with BlizzBolt it can be deadly, and we have Regice, Articuno, Wallrein, Magic Guard Clefable/Alakazam when it is released, overcoat mons, (not many in the tier right now though, we only have the Wormadams, which are useless, and Mandibuzz, which could be a threat)... the list goes on and on.

Well the basic formula for offensive hail (or at least what I've been running) goes something like this. You need Snover for obvious reasons, and he's awesome because he is literally expendable at any point in the game, which is surprisingly useful. Need something to take a Sleep Powder? Need something to eat a Honchkrow BB? Snover is your guy. After that you get two ice type abusers, one of whom should have a scarf to clean up in the late game. In the other three slots you need things to set up SR, rapid spin and stop most bug types and fighting types (not that there are many) as well as an Entei counter. Those three are your main core and keep you alive, as well as giving you opportunities to go to your ice types. That's just a breakdown of my team while revealing as little as possible. It works magically and I encourage you all to try something similar while its still fresh.

EDIT: Although I do have a couple of losses by now, one at the hands of my own team lol

OMG specs tinted lens Yanmega is my new favorite set. People see the Yanmega and switch out, use the BB on the switch, and after rocks, kill everything

I would think Speed Boost Yanmega was the broken set, namely because the only priority that particularly hurts it and its considerable Defense (aside from ExtremeSpeed) is the uncommon Ice Shard.

Speed Boost has 100% counters and is walled by most of the special walls in the tier. It's still immensely powerful but it is not broken.

Specs Tinted Lens however can 2HKO even dedicated special walls meaning nothing can switch in safely. Munchlax is the only one that can switch in, survive and threaten it. Not even resistances can switch in because of Tinted Lens, so it's a lot harder to try to play around. It's power is even greater than Specs Latios in OU imo because there's no Chansey down here to take it and no viable resistances that aren't 2HKOed.

I agree. I find the Speed Boost Yanmega to be good, but I can manage them quite easily. The Tinted Lens ones are so much more threatening, imo.
