Why do people say that Cress is broken? If it doesn't carry Rest, then Toxic it, and it's like fighting a Blissey with Toxic Spikes on the field: It can do stuff for a couple turns, but it has to keep healing or switch out. If it does carry Rest, treat it like CroCune. Mega is broken, Honchkrow is less so, Porygon-Z is even less so, and Cresselia is not. It's just a big pain. My 2 cents

this may be just my opinion but where's all the love for kecleon? Color change allows it to wall choiced threats along with threats with coverage issues. It has a chance of not being 2hkoed by yanmega's bug buzz and can recover off the damage. it can run a decent Subpunch set as well as support with options such as trick room and stealth rock. Kecleon actually has a niche over munchlax. try him out

Or you could Taunt it and completely shut it down most of the time.
Or set up if it used Rest (provided it used it's possible Berry).
Haven't had a problem facing Cress. Probably never will.

Edit: True, that does look nice. Maybe I should make a RU TR team...

imo Cress is broken unless you carry taunt. However, Cress can also just attack you. I also agree with Yanmega being broken due to specs tinted lens... Can't wait til RU starts having suspect tests.

How hard is getting rocks on the field and then proceed to force switches?
Is Unaware Quagsire so easy to kill?
Different sets require different counters of course. And I know the situation where you expect one set just to be surprised by another, but set up sweepers are still easy to wall with strong walls and even easier to wall with Quagy. And even if Cress predicts the Taunt, what the heck is it going to do with 75 Sp Atk? Quag walls it for days,
any good attacker can overpower it with a STAB SE attack. Yanmega, on the other hand, can be outsped by both Thyplosion and Entei and be walled by Moltres. Explaining this is kind of redundant, but alas, Thyplosion can revenge it (or severly dent the switch in), Entei can do the same and Moltres can outstall it thanks to a 4x resistance to Bug. Where is your brokenness now? Cress can be made useless and walled, Yanmega can only switch in once before fainting with rocks on the field if it takes some prior damage, so I don't see your points.

On a totally different tangent from the brokenness or lack thereof of Cress and Mega and the like, what do you guys think of a set something like this:

Druddigon @ Life Orb
Adamant
Sheer Force
252 Atk / something large in Speed or HP
-Hone Claws
-Dragon Rush
-Sucker Punch
-Fire Fang

This set abuses Sheer Force and Life Orb. With Hone Claws, you can boost your attack to astronomical levels. Sucker Punch is much needed priority on such a slow poke. Dragon Rush works well with Sheer Force and Hone Claws. Fire Fang is for type coverage.

Nice, very nice indeed. Dragon Rush's glaring issue of Accuracy is fixed, gets the Sheer Force boost and then you have a true monster in your hands. I'd put the rest in HP, though, as Druddigon can't hope to outspeed things with 48 base Speed. It definitely looks like TR set up sweep material as it is. And can even do so outside of it, with stellar 77/90/90 defenses. Now I KNOW I have to make a RU TR team...

In Trick Room, Druddigon should be able to tear ass, since it's one of the slowest Pokes in RU, and it has some power behind its' attacks with Hone Claws and Sheer Force.

Sheer Force Hone Claws Dragon Rush in Trick Room sounds like it would rock with Druddigon, but as Stellar said, it can't learn Dragon Rush.

But yeah, it would be nice to have an item increasing the number of turns that Trick/Wonder/Magic Room stay active (though only Trick Room would be seriously used, XD.)

On another note, since the on-site StrategyDex for BW is finally up, I'm waiting for the RU-NU cutoff.

However, if you use it in TR with Hone Claws, it only gets 2 turns to attack.
Turn 1 of TR: Set up TR
Turn 2 of TR: Switch to Druddigon
Turn 3 of TR: Use Hone Claws

leaving you only 2 turns of Trick Room left to attack.

On another unrelated note, what do you guys think about Musharna? With Barrier, CM, Moonlight, and Stored Power, it can wreak havoc as a late-game bulky sweeper. It's defenses are pretty nice along with its large HP and ability to beef up those defenses and recover lost HP. I'm surprised more people don't use it.

I don't know whether this was mentioned already, but I find specially defensive SubRoost Moltres (with Flamethrower and a move of your choice) to be a good check to both Cresselia and SB Yanmega (well, those that lack a rock move, at least). Cress can be PP stalled and non-specs'd Yanmega Air Slash does about 30% (just hope you don't flinchhax'd).
Works wonders, I really love this guy.

The Musharna seems fascinating. If you fail to get rid of your opponent's darks though, you're as good as dead. I'd say replace Moonlight for Energy Ball or something. If it carries leftovers, in theory, you'll eventually start gaining more HP then you're losing.

Why is Cress in RU? I haven't had enough experience with it to know.

Because it wasn't used enough in UU to be in UU.

Cress isn't that bad in RU, there are a ton of things that can beat it one on one, however if some of those things leave the tier/get banned, there is going to be a serious problem...

Why would you get rid of Moonlight? Moonlight lets it set up on a lot of stuff. Team Preview lets you see the Dark types so you can focus your whole energy on getting rid of them.

I agree You could pair it with a poke that can take on darks. Team support is something that people look for anyway. It could work, it would just need some support.

I see the logic. I was just saying if you failed to get rid of dark types, but of course that would be a rare event if they are your main target.

There's no need to use Musharna when Cresselia is available.

Pretty much true. The only thing Musharna can do that Cresselia can't is something along the lines of a Calm Mind / Stored Power set. I recall seeing someone using CM / Barrier / Stored Power, but without recovery, it's pretty gimmicky.
