Recomend some unconventional GBA Games!

Megaman Battle Network 3 Blue

Card Battle / Tactics / RPG / Action Game

Probably my favorite genre fusion game of all time, had a massive post game, an almost decent story, and an incredibly fun battle system with TONS of customization options. I mean tons.

With 20-odd different styles, a "folder" (deck) of 30 "chips" (cards) to fill, and a puzzle/programming system to finish your customization, it was really fun! Not to mention tactics such as starter chips, taking advantages of bugs, and time trials where you take down bosses in under 15 seconds using a prebuilt folder!

Network 3 was the best, the later ones had different (read: worse) customization and a shallower post-game. Blue version had the better Gigachip. FOLDERBAK *! Recycle all chips!

If you like SRPGS of any sort, then you should definitely check out Super Robot Wars Original Generation 1 & 2. SRW has some of the best animation I've seen for the GBA, it is amazingly customisable, gives you a ton of units to choose from (few of which are incompetent), and is hard enough to give you a real challenge (unless you try to exploit loopholes etc.). It also has excellent characters, and a very good story. You should definitely check it out.

Here's a short vid from OG2. Looks a lot better in VBA lol.

Mother 3? You'll need a flash cart to play it on a real GBA but it's great. I don't normally like RPGs but it feels more like a novel/adventure game and you don't need to do any grinding.

Drill Dozer looks pretty interesting, I'll have to try it.

Drill Dozer is actually by Game Freak so if you're a Pokemon fan check out that other game they got to make. Once. Before being told to make more Pokemon.

Survival Kids by Konami was pretty fun and pretty fucking hard. i remember getting it when i was ~9 and losing after 20-30 days of survival to illness over and over and over and over and over and over and...well you get the point. finally beat it a few years back and it was an enjoyable experience. really makes you think.

do you mean Pulseman for the genesis/megadrive because that game is furiously addicting and fun

If you like action-rhythem games, I recommend checking out Rhythm Tengoku. In terms of gameplay, it's quite simple (all you have to do is time presses of the A button correctly), but it's fun because everything is centered around minigame-like skits, sort of like Warioware.

Mario vs Donkey Kong
DK steals a bunch of mini-mario toys and you have to recover them all. In the first part, you collect a key and go to the second part of the level inwhich the mini-mario is waiting to be retrieved. On the second part, the mini-mario itself holds the key to the next level, which can be a pain in the ass since it follows you around and is a fragile as Mario (one hit and you're done). There are also 3 presents you can gather in each level to beef up or score to finally earn a star for that level. The stars unlock bonus levels which are waaaaay more difficult. Add the mini-marios-in-a-box bonus games and boss battles and you have one hell of a game. The nod to the classic Donkey Kong Arcade is pretty obvious.

Mario And Luigi: Superstar Saga
First off, let me lay out something: the brothers are very gay in this game. Yes, the dancing they do while waiting for an order is ridiculous and so is their victory pose. With that out of the way, this is a great game. The references to Super Mario RPG are everywhere(you even find Geno). You learn abilities such as the jump, hammer, gloves, that you can use in battles and make awesome combinations or in the world map to reach previously unaccessible spots(the electric glove actions is pretty funny).

Kuru Kuru Kururin
You are a spinning stick struggling to leave a maze without hitting anything. Enough said, go play it.

Tactics Ogre if you like Strategy RPGs. Nice story (unlike FFT:A), good battle system, alternate story paths, etc... Really recommend it.

Also try, if you haven't already, Astro Boy: Omega Factor, which is simply one of the best actions games on the GBA (if not the best).

N64 nostalgia and "3D" platforming on your GBA!

Also, I found a cheat for infinite coins on M+L-SS

When you get the ability to shrink Mario, do it and then try a high jump. If you jump at the right time, Luigi goes "oww" and a coin sound is made. You get a coin, but Luigi loses 1 Hp. Repeat for as many as you like =D
