Rediamond gets a nuke: This is not a test. (Axaj vs Leethoof)

"I can't believe it. There's even less here than there is in Indiana." I shivered as a cold wind blew across the North Dakotan prarie, which looked exactly the same as every other inch of the state. There wasn't much to be found here. That is, unless you're a maniac bent on destroying the world. It had taken me several years to get there keys, and I was intent on seeing the job through.

I dropped a red and white orb from my hand, and instantly the clouds broke into sunshine, considerably warming the bleak scene. "Thanks, Ninetails. Come on, the silo's just ahead."

The number one question I've always had is why the government needs to spend my tax dollars (so what if I'm under 18) on building EVEN MORE nukes. Most people would complain. I just see it as more opportunities. The door to the silo opened with a slight click, opening into a dark cavern that streched out as far as the eye could see. I quickly scanned it, but then turned on my torch (flashlight to you Americans) and revealed the ulitmate prize: a nuclear missile.

"Hold it right there, mister! What do you think you're doing?"

"Crap, the feds," I whispered, before whirling around, hand on my Gengar's belt, to face the ultimate warrior that I was certain the goverment had gaurding thier nuke. Instead, "Wait, who the heck are you?"

"WHAT, you've never heard of me? I, the great, the glorious, the-"

"Is this your first battle kid?"

He drooped his head, "Yeah, but so what. It's not like-"

"Listen, I'll spare your Pokemon from getting knocked out if you just let me-"

"Hey, Red, what'cha doin'?"

I sighed loudly, and turned around. "Axaj, since when did you hang around in nuclear missle siloes?"

He smiled, "Well, I saw you weren't at home, so I figured you'd come out here."

Wait, how'd he figure out where I live?, I thought, and more importantly, why was he paying attention to if I was home or not? I shook the thought from my head, "Hey, Axaj, I've got a situation here. Can you distract this guy while I arm the miss- I mean farm the missletoe? I'll be reffing somewhere over by the control panel."

2v2 Singles
DQ Time: 60 hours (2.5 days)
Infinite recovery, chills
Arena: Nuclear missile silo, 3 stories tall (underground of course) with undiggable floors. Bottom floor contains the control room, middle has access to the missile, and top is a living area (where the pokemon start). If the missile takes 50 damage (it's typeless and has ****/*** defenses) it will explode, KOing both of the pokemon in the arena and inflicting toxic poison on any new pokemon that come in afterwards. The control room can be used to close the doors connecting the floors or to launch (not detonate) the missile, if the pokemon are technologically-inclined enough (ref's discretion) [I LIEK BOOM].

Okay, you could have each sent me another mon, but since both of you sent me two, we're going from here. Axaj, you already know this (hopefully), but for the sake of Leethoof, here is the order.

Axaj sends out mon.
Leethoff gives mons and orders.

Leethoof orders.
Axaj orders.

Leethoof orders.
You should get it by now.

Well, this should be interesting. And by interesting I mean exploding. I'll start off with my Porygon, Red Hot Chili Pepper.

GO VANGUARD! The only way we can this is by popping that nuke! First, set up a Sandstorm to obscure your movements and damage that porygon. Then, you need to run downstairs as fast as your little legs can take you to the middle level, avoiding attacks if possible. Start damaging the nuke (and general area) with an Earthquake.

Summary: Sandstorm->run to middle level evasively->Earthquake on nuke

EDIT: (I'd assume sandstorm can be used indoors because it is an old nuclear silo, with lots of dust. And, it being in sandy north dakota, the sand/dust can get through cracks in doors/windows/etc.)

Hmm. It seems a little irresponsible for a trainer to send his pokemon to kamikaze itself with a nuke, but hey, to each his own. Anyways, I think that you can manage this by yourself, so if it blows up the nuke, that's no good for us, not to mention that poison that will come afterward. Start off by getting to the control room as quickly as possible, via Agility. If it has already made it to the nuke room, launch the missile (who cares where it goes). If it has not made it yet, close the door connecting the first room and the nuke room. Finally, if you still have time left over in the round, chill if you got the door closed in front of it, or attack it with Hidden Power if it made it to the nuke room.

Agility to control room --> Launch the missile if it made it to the room/Close the door if it didn't --> Hidden Power if it made it to the room/Chill if it didn't.

(Also, can sandstorm really be used indoors?)

Round One: Locked Doors

The moment I run out of the room, Porygon and Shieldon drop from thier Pokeballs prepared to battle. But Porygon has been trained that gaurding the nuke is of the utmost priority, and quickly bolts down to the control room in a burst of agility. But instead of pursuing him, Vangaurd roars and strs up the sands in the building... or dust. There actually isn't much sand in North Dakota. However, the limited quanity of dust is only enough to sustain the storm for one round (Leethoof: I'm being nice with one round. But trust me, everyone will either make that mistake, or learn from an opponent's mistake on using weather underground. Your not the first, and you won't be the last.)

As the next round starts, Shieldon waddles down the stairs as fast as his stubby little legs can carry him, but right as he reaches the door, it slams shut from Porygon's instructions to the computer downstairs.

In a fit of rage, Shieldon roars and causes a tremor t- WAIT, THERE ISN'T A FAULTLINE IN NORTH- but nobody cares... After the combatants get done watching me scream at myself, Shieldon continues to stir up an Earthquake, while Porygon simply chills downstairs, even as the increasing force of the shockwaves lower in the building does quite a lot of damage, even dealing slight damage to the nuke (YES!).

Alright, this looks like it's going well enough so far. Start off with a Magnet Rise; we don't want to get hit by any more of those Earthquakes. It's probably going to just keep trying to destroy that nuke with Earthquake, so open up that door you closed with the computer in the control room. Then go attack him with Hidden Power, double fighting weak yay.

(Also Rediamond, recall that I have a Download boost to my special attack.)

Well that hyper-intelligent techy porygon kind of ruined our plans, Vanguard. But no worries! Punish that porygon in the control room by swaggering at him through the security cameras (they have to be there!). Once he opens the door,
smack the floating duck-thing down with a random piece of equipment, and then shake him and the nuke with an earthquake!

Summary Swagger->Smack Down->Earthquake

Eh, sorry about DQ. Forgot about the whole 60 hour thing. If you want to DQ me, go right ahead. Standings are at the bottom of the last round (on the bus, no time to post them.)

Round Two: The Hidden Powers of Porygon

To start off the round, Red Hot Chili Peppers (RHCP) distorts the area around it and magnetises herself (always think of Porygons as a "she," don't ask). The resulting repellance from the metal floor leads her to shoot into the air, until she faces the large wall of camera feeds. Speaking of which, she gets to watch Shieldon doing a strange dance to show his swagger, but the modern age Pokemon can't understand the meaning of the gesture,
and is severely confused, but something in her gets the point and steps up her fighting spirit.

However, the energy running through it's veins causes Porygon to crash into the ground, unable to handle the sheer power. As she struggles up, Shieldon quickly waddles in and slams her down with a crowbar for good measure.

Extremely irritated and offended, Porygon simmons a strange, Hidden Program (er, power...) and shoots a few orbs of light at Shieldon, who cringes fom the fighting type attack. However, he still calls upon a mighty Earthquake that rattles the arena, slightly damaging the nuke above. However, the sealed door blocks most of the damage.

Good job Vanguard! You're awesome! Your attacks aren't hitting him hard enough so Screech, then hit him with a Smack Down and take him down after that. If he ever tries to hit you with a hidden power fighting, then use Protect, but only once.

Summary: Screech->Smack Down->Take Down. Replace any action with Protect from HP fighting, but only once.

Okay, we're doing well here. Start off by covering yourself with Magic Coat. Then, use your ability Trace to copy his Sturdy ability. Finally, Recover off some of the damage that you have taken.

Magic Coat --> Ability: Trace (Sturdy) --> Recover

EDIT: nevermind

Mobile reffing in a car ride. Not an eventful round, so I don't feel bad.

Round three: Nothing happens!

Shieldon begins the round by giving a large Screech, although he does seem slightly curious as to why Porygon isn't reacting. However, just before the sound hits him, porygon creates a shining barrier that blasts the noise right back, lowering Shieldons defense!

As Shieldon reels in irritation, Porygon starts to mimic him, and his programming gives him a sturdy build! Irritated at the imitation, Shieldon picks up the crobar once again and smacks Porygon back to the ground.

But Porygon just shrugs it off, and starts to glow as energy flows back into his body from the world of cyberspace. However, Shieldon retaliates with another Earthquake.

Alright, this should be rather simple from here on out. Chill out a little to get back some energy, then hit him with another strong Hidden Power. After that, just Recover off some more damage.

Okay Vanguard, this round shouldn't be as frustrating as last time. Taunt the tech-duck while it chills, Protect against that nasty Hidden Power, and then use Smack Down once more while it fails to do anything.

Round Four: As boring inside as it is outside

Feeling slightly drained from his pointless stalling, Porygon decides to chill and take things easy. However, Vangaurd has other ideas, and tries to interupt the duck's rest through a bunch of cracks about how she doesn't even have a mother to insult and how it isn't even real.

Infuriated, Porygon glows, and shoots out several orbs of fighting energy filled with her programmed knowledge of hand-to-hand combat, but Shieldon roars and creates an enormous shield of light that causes the Hidden Power to bounce off.

Enraged at being completely out-played, Porygon seethes in rage and does nothing as Shieldon hurts her with another Smack Down.

Summary: Chill->Smack Down->Take Down. Replace any action with protect against HP fighting, delaying the queue.

Round Five: Unneeded Rest

To start off yet another uneventful round in this stall war, Porygon glows brightly, and shoots several orbs of digital information at Shieldon. Shieldon waits for a few moments, and then roars and lowers his head, forming a protective wall that causes the attack to bounce off.

At this point, both combatants take it easy and chill for a few seconds. Yeah, absolutely nothing.

However, Shieldon puts up some pretense of actually being aggressive and charges forwards, picking up a crowbar in the process, and slams Porygon into the ground. However, at this point, Porygon rises up slowly, letting data in the computer systems flow into him and help him recover from the very few blows exchanged.

Round Six: Something happens!

After several fairly subtle messages from the ref, Porygon is finally roused to action and begins to glow with a soft pale light as she called upon several programs stored within her. Shieldon takes the moment to prepare his final assault, and shrieks loudly, sending echoes of irritating sound waves out throughout the silo. Porygon is just irritated, however, and shoots out the powerful pulse of light at the dinosaur, but his sturdy build somewhat mitigates the damage.

Porygon hasn't quite caught on to the stall war coming to an end, and simpy levitates in mid-air, resting and letting her programming get into sync with reality. Happy about the chance to attack, Vangaurd lowers his head and gives one last archaic yell as he rushes forwards, his head slamming into the digital duck. However, just when it seems as if the fight could get interesting, Vangaurd collapses onto the floor, having run out of energy.

With a loud crash, the fossil Pokemon hit the floor, the echo vibrating across the arena. "Took you long enough," I grunted out under my breath, still too engrossed with the passcodes I was trying to decipher to really take much of an interest in the battle.

"Don't see you helping much," Axaj shot back.

"Look, if you really want help, I'm not holding back." I rose up from my seat, reaching for a red and white orb on my belt. "Gardevoir, go!" In a flash of light, the paper doll of sorts that had accompanied on my quest to hija- borrow a nuke.

"Aw, no fair! I'm just a new trainer and all, and I've got to fa-"

"WHAT THE HECK DID YOU THINK SOMEONE TRYING TO STEAL A NUKE WOULD BRING TO THE BATTLE? A MAGIKARP!" The gaurd cringed slightly, but I wasn't particularly in the mood to feel bad about it, "Look, Axaj could have killed you in a few minutes. He chose not to for reasons that are entirely beyond me. I doubt you can even knock out his Porygon if he tries to win. Seriously, if you aren't ready for a challenge, you shouldn't be gaurding a nuke."

I heard a sigh off to my left, "So I guess this means the battle's still on?"

I nodded, "Yeah, just try to make it more interesting. I'm going to go and finish breaking the passcodes now." I started to walk back towards the control room, but remembered something. "Oh, and Leethoof, this is where you send out your next Pokemon and give your orders."

Goooo Boggle! This should be a slightly-better matchup!

Confuse him with Swagger, and then hit him with two Vacuum Waves

Alright, let's make this quicker this time! Use that wonderful Psyshock to... shock him I guess? Whatever it's super effective anyways. Speaking of which, that Vacuum Wave will hurt a bit, so use Conversion 2 to become a more beneficial typing. And then use Psyshock again because I am super creative like that.

Mobile Reffing... Again. See previous round's end for current standings.

In a flash of light, Croagunk emerges from his Pokeball, ready to abuse his type advantage. Hopefully he does so a bit better than Shieldon's theoretial advantage. But just to show that he's serious, Croagunk starts off with a strange dance of intimidation, a show of his sheer awesomeness; a display of swagger. Porygon is slightly confused by why the frog isn't attacking, but the earlier exposure over the video cameras leaves him better able to take the Swagger, and he is only slightly confused. In order to remind her opponent that this is indeed a battle, RHCP sends subliminal messages into cyberspace. After a somewhat long buffering time, the thoughts reappear and slam into Croagunk as a physical force.

Taking the initiative in battle, Croagunk inhales air very rapidly, filling up his cheeks to thier maximum capacity, before Porygon can react, he shoots it out at an extremely high velocity, battering Porygon with the sheer force of the wave. Analytical as ever, RHCP begins to analyze her battle programming, and eventually pulls up a database on the fighting types. She quickly realizes that there are five ways to resist the fighting type, and pulls up the programming that would allow her to transform into any of them. Unable to decide between them, and realizing she only has a pseudo-random number generator, she quickly pulls up Random.org, and after briefly figuring out what all of the fuss about true randomness is about, she rolls a two for Flying. As the files load, RHCP starts to lose her form and instead just becomes a few loose gusts of air flying around in an abstract shape.

Intent on showing Porygon that he is indeed better at using the air, Croagunk inhales very rapidly and shoots out a powerful wave of energy that disrupts Porygon's very body, scoring critical damage! Irritated in the extreme, Porygon posts her thoughts all over the Internet, where eventually Croagunk reads them during the lull in battle and feels as if he's been hit by a physical force by the Cyber Bullying.
