wow i love it it looks so chubby! i just want to pinch it!

Wow, I need to get over hear more often. Really liked the fakemon, you've really got some imagination behind your work. Keep it up! =]

You are a wonderful fakemon creator sir. You should definitely participate in the next CAP.

(I also tried a poison/dragon a while ago but I like yours better =])

Yeah, I'd agree. Getting the proportions right for Steelix seems to be really hard. Another thing I noticed (after I had finished it all ;_;) is that some of the rocks are a little too far apart.

In case anyone doesn't know, Ken Sugimori has updated all the 2nd gen Pokemon with new artworks!

Here's a Scizor. I don't think the anatomy is completely correct, but I'm still pretty proud of this one. : )

Scampy, how long does it take you to color most of your works? They are amazingly complete in their coloring, it seems like it must take forever!

Very cool stuff! You have great some very nice shading and coloring skills. And your Fakemon are really creative! Especially the last evolution of your dark/grass line.

Keep it comin' man!

Coloring doesn't take me too long, although it does of course depend on the size of the picture. For something small like the Scizor, it takes about 20-30 minutes (like, the coloring and the pen shading). Sketching out a decent pose is probably the most time consuming part for me.

Just trying out my tablet. I'm going to start practicing with digital stuff, so don't expect anything decent for a while. :x

I have a lot of respect for you. I couldn't last coloring any single picture for more than 15 minutes. I would get extremely frustrated (if I didn't mess it up already).

Might as well post what I submitted for CAP9...

Final Submission

Alternate pose

My entry is loosely based on the mole. CAP9 is a cocky and arrogant Pokemon that always strives to make itself more powerful. It typically burrows its way into peoples homes (and the occasional ancient tomb) to steal valuables, and what it desires most of all are objects with mystical properties that can help increase its strength.

The amulet on CAP9's head is symbolic of its role in a team. Amulets are objects that supposedly protect the owner from ill effects, which fits CAP9's purpose of "stopping the secondary" pretty well. It also works well with CAP9's custom ability, the Auto-Magic Coat.

The build of my design is pretty general, but I think it fits with the current stat spreads being submitted. It's pretty chunky so has high HP, the pose shows he can be pretty fast, claws show a high attack power... yeah. If you were wondering about the height, I'd say this guy is roughly 5ft tall. The Ground typing is shown by the fact that it's a mole, and the Dark shown by the fact it's a thief (as well as having your typical mean looking eyes). I didn't want to resort to showing types by colours (hence the purple), because personality and concepts are just as important in representing typing as the design itself.

This guy came in at a tied 11th on the 1st art poll, so all in all I'm pretty happy with the number of votes it got (especially as the competition was so good). Upon reflection, I probably should have emphasized my entries "gimmick" more in the design, as well as given it some more supporting art. I learned that things really need to stand out in order to suceed in the polls. Ah well, there's always next time!

Gaahhh your art is sooooooooooooooooo awesome!!! Your style is so adorable! Do you have photoshop? I think if you utilized it, you could take your stuff to a whole new level.
