It's like if Eternatus wasn't missing its skin and was a fish
bro you're not gonna believe what Eternatus' beta design was

I agree with the sentiment, but I also can't help but look at what quagsire does that skeledirge can't and think quag is just gonna be straight better, skeledirge is an unaware mon that:
is weak to ground (a ton of common setup sweepers run eq)
deathly afraid of knock-off(could really apply to dark types in general especially with the new mence and bisharp evo)
and is rock weak, meaning it can't really afford to run lefties and meaning it hates knock-off even more
I mean those weaknesses aren't insurmountable and it does have some of the best bulk of all the Unaware mon. It's definitely not gonna be meta defining but it could still have a serviceable niche. Especially if there are fighting types that need countering since it would have an easier time switching in than even Clefable

Completely off topic, but it occurred to me that you might be able to get a Lovecraft-style narrative out of our mysterious 3rd legend. An immensely powerful entity whose dreams influence reality, and if the speculation about in-universe fiction is correct, it would allow for easy references to The King in Yellow.

Just something to think about if you find yourself making an edgy romhack.

So obviously by virtue of needing to keep one of the types, and there being 14 of them, there was going to be double ups but

I didn't expect fighting to be the "winner"

I'm guessing Suicune (obviously gonna be Water/X) and Virizion (imagine if it, too, went with fighting....) won't land on Normal, it seems purposful. Though if we extended it out to include the "proper" legends, (+1 to fighting & electric, +2 to dragon), maybe the tera will be normal.

I think this is neat as Slither Wing looks like Larvesta could connect the evolutionary chain from Slither Wing becoming Volcarona.
I think old paradox volcarona is so soooo cool for this link. I loved natural history as a kid, and this kind of reframes Larvesta in a really cool light if it's this is a prehistoric volcarona. It's as if Larvesta's high attack stat is a vestigial feature of its ancestor that used its attack way more, and it just goes away as it grows up. Super cool potential detail I hope is actually framed in that light once we find out more on the nature of paradox Pokemon.

Khu hints that the Paradox V will retain Fighting and will incorporate elements of all 3 Swords of Justice. This makes much more sense to me now that we know all the Future Paradoxes are conceptually robotic.

The big winner out of this generation to me overall is very clearly Dark. 4 legends + a Protean + 2 very good Paradox mons + a Bisharp evo (jfc) not to mention others that might still end up interesting.
