SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet Leaks Thread - Data/Mechanics

[The Crusade]

Things that currently have me excited:

• Enamorus—Superpower, Fly, Substitute
• Golduck—Power Gem, Nasty Plot
• Delphox—Nasty Plot
• Wo-Chien—Snarl, Body Press
• Quaquaval—Swords Dance, Brave Bird, U-turn

It sucks to lose Scald, but there's still fun to be had.

 

[Magcargo]

I think Tinkaton will be in an OK spot. It gets all the Moves I wanted it too,, mainly Swords Dance, Knock Off and Protect, so It'll have solid coverage. Ice Hammer as an egg move isn't too useful,, but it is funny lol. Also gets Stealth Rock + U-Turn for a pivot set which is neat.

Zamazenta will probably still be Ubers now that it has Body Press, but it still sucks that they had to nerf it at all. ID + Body Press isn't even that much stronger than the next best candidate, Kommo-O, because Dauntless Shield is a one time boost. It'll still be the best user of the combo because it has Steel-typing + STAB, but I don't think it will be making waves in Ubers with this set. We'll see though.

Decidueye-H Gets CC. That'll be nice as an alternative STAB if Triple Arrows ends up not benig too good. Also Shadow Sneak too for some reason. Gets Nasty Plot too which will be great since it has good STABs in Energy Ball and Aura Sphere.

Articuno gets Ice Spinner now, letting it run a Phsyical set with Brave Bird, Ice Spinner,, U-Turn, and Roost.

Forrtress also gets Ice Spinner. Pretty nice buff actually, since Forretress sometimes used Hidden Power Ice to check Landorus-T / Garchomp. This will be way stronger off of Forretress's higher attack.

Scizor gets Pounce and Trailblaze. Pounce will be a nice upgrade to X-Scissor since you'll drop the opponent's speed on the switch. Trailblaze is nice as Grass- coverage vs Waters.

All Tauros forms get Raging Bull. IDK what this move does, but I imagine normal Tauros will like it a lot if it has a secondary effect.

Hisui-Goodra gets Flash Cannon. This is really nice since it didn't get it in legend's arcues for some reason, so now it has good Special Steel STAB.

Avalugg gets Icicle Crash + Ice Spinner as more reliable Ice- STAB.

Dreadnaw gets Ice Spinner as coverage vs Grass-types.

Greninja now gets Switcheroo via Egg Move. This will be good on Battle Bond Greninja since it can cripple stuff like Toxapex by Tricking its Specs onto it. That being said, idk how Battle Bond Greninja will get the move since the breeding mechanics are weird

Dedenne now gets Draining Kiss. Might be useful on tanking sets, though probably not too great without a boosting move.

don't worry, showdown meta will be in shambles ANYWAY until Home drops since they don't allow anything not available in the game in first place, so transfer moves won't be allowed until then either ways.

Well it's not like it had a big distribution in first place, ofc the two "big" abusers Clefable and Togekiss are missing.
Follow Me alone was half of why Pachirisu has that famous Worlds appearance after all.

Meowscarada really is the new Greninja. That movepool is glorious. Seems like it has everything it needs to perform the same roles as Greninja did in OU. It's a good thing they nerfed Protean cause this thing seems like it'll have a ton of viable sets. Just glancing at its movepool, it could do a double hazard suicide lead set with Spikes / Toxic Spikes / Taunt / filler, or an offensive Spiker, or all-out offensive LO/Choice sets.

Seems like the thing to check with breeding next is if the nursery "tutoring" aspect now works on pokemon not of the same species, but otherwise compatable

Gardevoir gets Aura Sphere and Mystical fire is now a Ralts line egg move
Gallade comes out on top as the big winner chicken dinner as he gains Icy Wind, Agility and Shadow Claw to abuse his new ability with

Half the game gets Spikes now, inclunding chomp, diancie, carbink and the tumbleweeds
Sneasler gets U-turn and Urshifu gets SD so we can ban both.
Quaxly3 gets rapid spin and roost, tumbleweed gets a huge lot of utility moves including Strenght Drain
I guess medicham gets CC now yay anyway... Groudon gets wisp and spikes

Poor Pyroar continues to get cool physical moves and absolutely nothing on the special side, aside From Terablast. I want to slap whoever at Game Freak thought it was a good idea to make this Pokemon a special attacker, give it Moxie and give it a shallow trash special moveset.

Daschbun gets Wish, so good for it to have some recovery move. Tho its effectiveness in passing that wish doesn't seem that great because its HP stat is dogwater(hah).

Houndstone also gets Shadow Sneak. so that's also kinda cool for it i suppose.

Egg move on Oshawott. Breed it in SV, transfer to PLA through home (it'll lose the move in PLA, but it'll remember it when it returns to the main game). Evolve there. Transfer back. Moveset will be restored to SV's memory.

EDIT: who knows, we may get a Hisuian Evolution method in here too.

Iron Valiant got the elementals Punches, Swords Dance, Thunderbolt, Thunder Wave, Psychic, Agility, Screens, Substitute, Encore, Shadow Ball, Taunt, Helping Hand, Trick, Brick Break, Skill Swap, Imprison, Calm Mind, Aura Sphere, Poison Jab, X-Scissor, Focus Blast, Energy Ball, Shadow Claw, Zen Headbutt, Trick Room, Grass Knot, Psyshock, Stored Power, Hex, Liquidation on top of its leveling movepool.
That movepool is crazy.
Also i'm still not over the fact that its one priority move is shadow sneak of all things.

It probably retains the move after transferring it back to SV from PLA after evolving it. Or maybe from the Egg Move passing that SwSh introduced. Does that work though for alternate formes?

Thinking about potentially defensive Kingambit sets. This mon has 100-120-85 defenses, 9 resists, 2 immunities, Defiant/Stealth Rock, and thunderwave. I think you can kinda make something happen here.
