Scrafty

The problem i find with this thing is this guy is even more toxicroak set up bait than roobushin. Not a matter since toxicroak is rare but if it happen it gonna be suck.
Taunt DD Drainer seems to be a nice set especialy since defensive duo like nattrei burungeru running rampant.

Toxicroak set-up bait? How much does +1 Crunch do again? Low Kick definitely doesn't kill, Cross Chop is shit, lol fighting-priority, Focus Punch doesn't work if you get hurt, and +1 Crunch definitely breaks subs.

drain punch say hi especialy considering this thing is slower than croak.
in one on one toxi come in. Taunt you. BU and DP.
The same case happen with Robu BU variants which dont use EQ.

I like the little guy but he is certainly not ou material the closet he would jet there would probably be a tank set with over confidence or maybe a bulk up intimidate tank but other than that this guy is uu

I just read through the first page, and I saw he was HIGLY underestimated.....
.........
dare to say that now........

@zee-brah he probably came up with that on his own accord without doing any research he will likely be OU/BL like it or not according to his Pokemon Online usage statistics he is in the top 5% he is not under estimated either Zuruzukin has the cajones to pierce through current DPPt UU like butter, he walls almost all DPPt UU his counters have a psychic weakness which could easily be offset by Mesprit, but honestly I am a skeptic seeing this Pokemon in OU but he does have a good showing with the tiering contributors so that is a plus for him, only time can tell where will Zuruzukin stand in the BW generation.

DD zuru tears shit up to eleven. This guy can even survive Sash(i know its stupid) Deoxys-A superpower like for heck sake. DD, Drain, Crunch, Taunt make him an absolute beast. And getting 3 DD is laughably easy with Mew Support

My only problem with DD sets is that it IS easily countered by Ditto, and bulky fightings like Roopushin. I haven't seen how a 'frail' Zuru would fare against a Mach Punch from either Roopushin or Breloom, though.

If you run Bulk Up with Dragon Tail though, you don't have to worry a single bit about the popular Zuru counters. If you switch in and get a Bulk Up off, Roopushin isn't going to be able to do a damn thing to you before you phaze him with Dragon Tail. Ditto can still kind-of halt your sweep, but only if they know to just take a boosted Drain Punch and use Dragon Tail, at which point Ditto's crippled and Zuruzugin's probably healthy enough to come out and do the same thing later. Otherwise it's just business as usual Ditto trying to win a drain punch war against a slower pokemon. The only time Bulky Zuru can really fail is against a faster bulky phazer or if you get screwed by chance. (Either critical hits or Shed Skin deciding not to proc for 8+ turns consecutively.)

well seing he survive deoxys A sash superpower hes quite bulky in my perspective.
DD zuru has great coverage and taunt which make him work well(though not as well if we compare it to the likes of DD Gyara in gen 4)

I'm not sure if this has been posted, but this set works wonders for me:

Zuruzukin- Shed Skin
Adamant @ leftovers
252hp, 252atk, 4spe
Dragon Dance/Bulk Up
Drain punch
Thunderpunch
Crunch

SOOOOOOo boss. I've ripped through a team 6-0 with the DD set. Sometimes, I run the bulk up set in my sandstorm stall team. That works well, too.

I almost always have the opportunity to get off at least 2 DD's or BU's when I switch into something looking to give me a burn or poisoning. I just boost away while I wait for the ailment to be shed away by shed skin.

what about a subpunch set?

Lefties?
Overconfidence
Adamant (252 ATK 252 HP 4 ???)

Substitute
Focus Punch
Crunch
Zen Headbutt/ThunderPunch

If only this guy had base 100 HP!!! He'd be the new Tyraniboach stallbreaker! Fighting/Dark STAB, only resisted by other Fighting Types (Heracross and Toxicrak) add Zen Headbutt into the set and he's unresisted! (not only that, but he can damage those fighting types Super effectively...)

well, anything that Fighting/Poison/Bug doesn't resist can slot in for Zen Headbutt, but The Psy-move does SE to all of those pokes (not only th at, but it does 4x to Toxicroak) so... yeah. there you have it, a simple subpunch set...

I love this guy. He is awesome. Bulk Up set is in my opinion way better than Dragon Dance since you can make him insanely annoying to kill and Shed Skin can cure rest. This guy has lived through a lot and has won a few games for me that otherwise would have been failures.

-Bulk Up
-Rest
-Drain Punch
-Crunch/Payback (since you could be going last)

He just doesn't seem fast enough to Dragon Dance as well and he's much less bulkier Dragon Dancing.

The Dark typing is his blessing and his curse. Being immune to Psychic, which is becoming more popular, is good. Being weak to all those fighting types, is not. If Roopushin did not exist than everyone would be using this thing instead for Bulk Up sets, which it does excel at. I see no reason to use Dragon Dance over Bulk Up when you have access to Shed Skin Rest AND Drain Punch. 252 HP and 252 SpD with Bulk Up and you'll simply never die.

ok i'v been trying a set of amnesia/bulk up / Crunck or payback and drain punch with a spread of 252/128/128 ; it works well as a mixed wall , you just choose your boosting move depending on the situation ...shed skin really helps it to absorb status and once you get 1or 2 bulk up and 1 amnesia it's basically gg .

well it works better mid/late game though .

I found that against most other Fighting-types, Zuruzukin cannot fight against them unless they've already been weakened or taken care of by other teammates. Most opt for Bulk Up in order to soften Fighting-type blows, and rarely have I seen Dragon Dance variants (they were far too slow, so they were relatively easy to beat). I also found that Zuruzukin has a few problems dealing with Gliscor and Skarmory, problems for physical Fighting types in general.

It could be easy implementing Starmie or a bulky Psychic-type on the team to take care of all these threats, but getting rid of switch-ins is easier said than done.

I've been using the 252 hp & spdef shedrest bulkupper with drain punch, and I agree. It's a monster.

I was using payback, but I've switched to dragon tail. It's actually pretty useful.

I run this set

Zuruzukin @Leftovers
Careful
Shed Skin
SpDef/eveny split Att,Def,Hp EVs
-Bulk Up
-Ice Punch
-Drain Punch
-Dragon Tail

When first sent out, this thing tanks special attacks hard. Like Latios Draco Meteor does 75 % or some business. Bulk Up on the first turn, making it a dual wall and giving it some power. Drain Punch is the primary attack, Ice Punch takes care of those nasty dragons (Garchomp, Mence, etc.) with some surprise KOs when they switch in on Drain Punch, and Dragon Tail phazes all those nasty setup artists, especially walls like Vaporeon and Suicune.

Paired with a Ghost type, this guy tears it up. The ONLY problem he faces is Fighting types, but as I said a Ghost types solve this, usually scaring them away or crippling them with Will O Wisp. Great Pokemon though very underrated

You can always run Substitute + Disable Gengar alongside him. It stops Roobushin in its tracks, and it is similar to Pain Split since it always beats Ice Beam/Flamethrower/Seismic Toss + Thunder Wave/Toxic Blissey.

^Rankurusu is another good teammate as well, as the two cover each others weaknesses bar Flying + Bug (just use a steel or something). On top of that, Rankurusu can work as a great status absorber with Magic Guard should you not be running Shed Skin for some reason, and Zuruzukin sets up on the Dark / Ghost types that check it.

It could be easy implementing Starmie or a bulky Psychic-type on the team to take care of all these threats, but getting rid of switch-ins is easier said than done.

Jirachi support is great in helping Zuru sweeps, it can use trick to screw over bulky walls and fire off STAB psychic to weaken/kill other fighting types.

Has anyone considered Shindorra (Shinporra?) as a potential partner for Zuruzukin? Typing wise they have lovely synergy together, missing out only on Shindorra's Electric and Ice weaknesses, but Zuruzukin can take those attacks thanks to his wonderful defenses. Shindorra can sponge physical attacks and burn dangerous physical threats (thanks to Psycho Shift and Magic Guard) and help in the removal of fighting types on the opponents team.

In Dream World OU, I've been using Shadow Tag Shandera with ShedRest Zuruzukin. Works well, since Shandera can easily trap things like Skarmory and a weakened Roobushin.
