Here's a Jirachi with jazz hands. Should I do a tutorial on how I went about the making if this picture?

Well here it goes! My first tutorial ever, of anything. I'm sorry if there were spelling mistakes, I typed it all in photoshop which doesn't have auto spell. I went through myself and found everything I could but I'm not the best speller. It is quite long as I included pretty much every step of my creative process. I hope you will forgive me and I hope you learn something!

My favorite thing about your pieces is your creativity.
It's very.. inspiring.
For example, the monotone robot piece or this most recent one. The piece is both amazing in concept and in execution..
I look up to you a lot for your creativity.
If it's not an odd question.. how does one think of such things?
Is any of it accidental? :P
 
Ok, seriously, you need to stop being this awesome. You're making me have a seizure attack here man! grblklxbarglmburrrr..... Oh and BTW I was wondering if you would do a epic heracross?! If you ever do it, could I use it as an avvy??/

@DJGopher: Wow, I'm honored. You know, I can't really even fathom how my ow imagination works. I like to think of my work as a controlled accident. I often start drawing without ideas (like in both pictures you mentioned) but as I continue painting I try to keep in mind a mood I want to convey and a sense of story. I think more of my artistic inspiration comes from music rather than art. I always listen to music as I draw. I really try to not repeat what seems normal. I don't care to imitate. When I first started drawing the hell/grim reaper picture It was really boring. i finished the reaper and was thinking, "Could this be more boring? I like it but it's like every single other depiction of him with minor twists. Then I guess I just tried to convey my feelings about hell through the picture. I wanted it to seem attractive at first glance (the light in the cave) but you don't notice what it really is. Everybody was free to walk in or leave. And I just kept working. I can't stress that enough. A lot of times I don't like something and want to ditch it halfway through. Just keep at it! Sorry for the wall of text, don't know if any of it helped.

If anyone cares, Here are some of my favorite bands that really inspire me in the order that they occur to me:
Death Cab For Cutie, Arcade Fire, Manchester Orchestra, Owl City, Imogen Heap, Coheed and Cambria, Her Space Holiday, The Birthday Massacre, Gorillaz, OneRepublic, The Naked and Famous, Silverstein, and We Came as Romans.

Aww, thanks man. I really apreciate it! I've always wanted to have a heracross avvy, and I suck at drawing heracross (realisticly or anime like), and always fail at it. Can't wait to see it!
 
Thank coolbiz, I tried to explain my thought process while painting rather than just be like "Make art look good". I use photoshop cs5 and a medium intuos tablet. I don't know waht I would do without it!
 
Here's the epic heracross! This one was a little quick, hope you don't mind too much. It's hard to draw heracross with any form of expression for me :P

@Coolbiz: I would say it depends in how serious you are about your art. I don't think any of them are hard to use (that's kind of the point I think) so whatever size you want is probably gonna be fine. Although you may not want anything much bigger than an medium unless you use really big sweeping arm motions to draw. I guess for a start you could just go with a bamboo. Just as long as it works!

Hey if it is not too much to ask for can I request for a Ninja Sceptile? Preferably with a black/red background like in your previous drawings. Your drawings are really awesome(though you have probably heard this many times before, haha), I've been lurking around this thread for quite a while and by far and in my opinion, you are one of the best artists I have seen in Smeargle's Studio, keep it up!

on another more on-topic note your tutorial is great and I may use it, and that Heracross is so cute yet looks so powerful. and your backgrounds are always beautiful, I love how you use colors.
 
Wow, you guys (and girls?) are so nice! lol I love iron and wine! Trapeze Swinger is my favorite song of theirs :3

I'll try and do that sceptile, sounds like fun :D
