I know someone who bred about 150 Ralts' to get a shiny Gallade. Finally got it, Jolly, we go to check IVs and everythings 31 except sp atk.

5 31s and on a shiny is rather... rare...
Especially on someone who only tried 150 times to get a shiny Gallade. The average to get a shiny is 1/8192. To get one so quickly is pretty rare in itself too.
Of course, by now you probably are noticing my sarcastic tone and my overall disbelief in your story. It's not that I don't believe you, but I'd like to see some proof first.
Well, the only proof I can give you is a pokesav screenshot when I checked the IVs.
Of course, that doesn't exactly help to prove my story in the least, considering it was pokesav.
Take from this story what you will, I'm not here to bend over backwards to get you to believe me. 150 was also a bit of a ballpark number, and it's hard to tell now as he's traded most of his Ralts' away.

I had a shiny psyduck while catching stuff in Safari zone back in Emerald. Lol
I got it cause there was a big typhoon here and everythnig was blackout for like 3-5 days. I had nothing else to do.

I don't have any shinies in Diamond, but I have a shiny Linoone in Sapphire and a shiny Tentacool in Firered (though I'll proboably trade it away.)

In Pokemon Silver, I ran into a shiny Mareep and a shiny Nidorina in the same patch of grass on the same day and did not catch them because it made me think shinies were easier to get than I thought. Or maybe I was just n00btarded...

If it makes you feel any better, one time i got a shiny palkia off the GTS. so I tried to clone it. I offered it for a lvl100 female wurmple.
Because my wifi is sometimes homosexual, it said that there was a communication error. after 5 or 6 tries, i got back in, only to find that my brand new shiny palkia had been traded for a lvl100 wurmple.
I was extremely pissed off the next day.

Was it MikkelDemey's Uberwurm (GameFAQs user who beat one of the 3rd gen games using only a Wurmple after he got it). Don't put up Dialgas/Palkias; everyone wants one on the GTS.
I used to be completely obsessive about getting shinies, but the pokeradar drove me insane, so I did something much more useful: bred pokemon for my team. Now my team is halfway bred, and it turns out I got a shiny Gible (max attack IVs, but everything else is crap and the Gible is Gentle). So it just goes to show you, breed pokemon.
I've been playinf for a long time too and I only just recently caught my first shiny. Tis a Female Tentacruel that I caught on my Japanese Pearl. I left it with the Japanese name cause I think it's cool to randomly see the Japanese characters in an English game.
I have a shiny Heracross, however I don't use it because my adamant 31/31 one is better D=
i just got a 100 shiny weavile from gts and i had a shiny manectric in rubby but i accidentaly reset the game lol
The only shinies I ever seen was a Shiny Tangela in Gold and a shiny Bibarel in Diamond. The latter of which was funny because I wasn't even looking for shines and was training for gym battles and this creature appeared. I almost shit myself when I first say, luckly I caught the bugger with ease.
I saw one of those in my crystal when was clueless about shiny pokemon. I think I ran into it about 5 times without ever catching it because 1) shinies ran away back in crystal and 2) it looked deformed.
