I know people are probably sick of reading any posts about Hoopa, but I did get one from my friend. I live in Hong Kong and my friends will often try to get theirs hands on the JPN event mons asap, I get a Quiet one; I checked and see that it has a Quiet nature, the ID and stuff also match the info listed on Serebii, so I am wondering if anyone else has the same one?
Probably, but it doesn't matter much. The event just started today (yesterday for Japan) for most theaters, the pre-screening was July 5th. pls no more Hoopa. Probably not even the best place to ask since you'll get spammed by desperate, weird and slightly annoying people.

Something really fortunate just happened to me. I was participating in the Bug Catching Contest on my Heart Gold cartridge and I encountered a shiny Metapod. Of course I caught it, and while catching I noticed the Sport Ball fits this cocoon very well.
My question is, what would the trade value on this Metapod be? Its IVs are shit, as well as its stats in general. Its nature is fortunate though (Timid). I can see this as something collectors may value a lot. In my eyes this is an exclusive jewel as it's caught instead of bred, but other people may think otherwise. It also doesn't have the Kalos pentagon of course, which makes it even more special to me. Are there any generation exclusive moves I can teach it to increase its trade value?

To be honest, it has very little value on Smogon, unless it's female, in which case the only value it has is being a mother. I know how exciting it is to find a shiny in-game, I think I've had that happen to me like 4-5 times over 10 years and +4 gens. However, I don't think that Metapod/Caterpie would have any trading value with random IVs. Sorry

I'd leave it sit for a while in case Mega Butter free becomes a thing in the next game! If only because megas tend to come in loose pairs, even if those pairs are across different releases, and Mega Butterfree is a fairly obvious outcome given Mega Beedrill. And since we obviously don't know what kind of a pokemon it is (e.g. bulky enough to use Defog, idk) or how it looks shiny it'd be best to leave it until we do.
'Course that rides on the assumption that MBFree is something that could happen. It might not. But Butterfree isn't useful currently yet anyway so it's no difference, unless someone would want a neat Metapod in particular.
