Resource Simple Questions, Simple Answers Thread (read the op before posting a thread)

TBD. I will be discussing this in the near future and will follow-up when I know.

With regards to the thread itself being updated and opened: Whenever we have a good idea of the post-suspect metagame. It could be a couple days or it could be a couple weeks. We are not going to rush it as we want to promote the most accurate list and discussion as possible.

Oh, i was talking about the drawing in the VR, the one with Lando, Lele and Gren.
Are we going to have a new one or we keep the same?

Is there a team building guide for OU?
There isn't a fully guide, but i'm sure this links will help you a lot:

- Viability Ranking - Speed tiers - Role Compendium - Sets VR

Some of this might get updated in the futures times due to the recent ban that OU had but this for sure will help.

Also where do I post my teams?

Depends on what you are looking for, you could probably post them on:

- Here, if you are looking for people to help you improve your teams.

- Here, if you want to give other people your teams.

Hope this help you out!

Edit: thx to Barbaroja for the info.

I'm not sure if this question is appropriate for this thread but do all standard team architypes need a scarfer/speed control mon? (including architypes such as Balance and Bulky Offense)

I mean I know that architypes like stall and HO don't require one but is it necessary for bulkyish teams that need an answer to faster mons?

Also, can a team provide good speed control from having a ton of strong prio (Water Shuriken Ash-Gren, Sucker Punch M-Mawile, etc) as opposed to having a fast scarf user.

I ask this because its the main reason why teambuilding is so hard and irritating to me

Yes, but it is entirely contextual. This meaning that whether or not your priority is enough in the way of speed control depends entirely on what speedy or set up pokemon are problems for your team. This can change depending on the defensive answers you have on your team for these things. Really the best way for you to learn when it's okay or not is to try it out and see what ends up punishing you and then thinking about why you lost after the fact to determine whether your team had enough counterplay to x threat and whether or not thats a big deal.

What Pokemon do you think will get better / worse with Zygarde's ban?
Aside from the obvious Heatran, things like Celesteela/Toxapex/ possibly even MegaVenu will probably get better as they either have to worry about one less Ground spammer or they go from set-up bait to "finally checks all grounders bar Rockium chomper/lando".
Garchomp and some other DDer like Char X/Megados will try to fill the void left by Zygarde, and with a lower demand in ground resists some other grasses other than Tang may finally have a day in the limelight (Bulu, the aforement MegaVenu, Ferro).

Set-uppers in general will possibly get better as well imho, as they not only have less competition, but they also needn't to worry about a CB ES coming their way.

It wasn't ass before either; in fact, it was picking up quite a bit a steam going back as far as September/October. It moved up consistently in the VR and probably will maintain its current position moving forward.

Yeah I was kinda exaggerating with that post

I'm aware that chomp had gotten a decent niche over zyg with its dragonium z sr set but it was still outclassed by it

rockium z is actually the better set and the one giving garchomp some traction as of late. hitting tapu bulu and celesteela harder really makes it shine.

but honestly, zygarde never really outclassed garchomp, sure you can’t fit both in the same team but they serve two completely different roles. one is a stealth rock user, be it offensive or defensive, and the other a sweeper for the most part, and the other zygarde sets that didn’t aim to sweep had a role very different to that of garchomp.

Why in the hell is there no spread for specs regular greninja for before it becomes ash gren in the damage calculator?
Not really something we can implement as that's not within our realm of control, but you can just import a non-Ash Specs Greninja into your calc and use that as a custom set. That's what I have been doing for the last number of months.
