Other SMOGON NOMIC (PROPOSAL PHASE 18)

In all seriousness, we need to really decide on the path we want to take this game. If everyone keeps voting NO on proposals, or people post meaningless proposals so they can yet YES votes, this game will go no where.

I think we should discuss options for the path this game should take during this time period, and afterward hold a straw poll to see which path seems the best to the most players.

I honestly don't care what kind of game this ends up being if i'm be 100% completely honest, as long as each new rule is interesting and really adds something. I think it'd be quite fun to have this game go from being one thing to something completely different at some point, as long as it doesn't happen TOO often, because it'd just be chaos. But then again.... i like chaos in my games

I'm personally very excited for a chaotic game where we just keep tacking on more and more rules, so by the end of the game, the winner may very well be decided by whoever can navigate the crazy maze most effectively. I think with pass code and hp, we have a very good basis, however I do think we could still benefit from a deck of cards (not neccesary a 52 standard, could be uno or something) and/or a board of some sort. I submitted my dumb coloring book page earlier because it was a 'board' with no built-in rules to bias our future decisions regarding the board. Then, with all of these generic gaming tropes in place, we can go ahead and start linking them together.

I actually have a few ideas right now (that i won't reveal until the phases i propose them :P) that connect unconnected rules together in some way. I want this game to feel like people introducing rules, and then we superglue them to other rules by making a rule that connects the new one to another previous concept. There are also rules that exist specifically for the purpose of being amended with new additions to it (see my Item Get! rule), or rules that YOU decide exactly how to use (Passcodes and the ~ATH codes are great examples of this, the former because it doesn't yet have a purpose, and the latter because YOU decide exactly what happens when it goes off, and (to a much lesser extent) how it goes off.

So yeah, a chaotic, always-changing game seems like a really fun experience to me, hell, to far isn't far enough! Push it as far as you can, make it totally absurd, it'll be awesome to see unfold

in D&D speak we are actually more loyal than chaotic since we follow rules :p
More seriously I'm good with both option but i think i would have prefer a more ordered game for my first ever nomic party. I like the idea of pokeguyNXB about sticking rule together to expand their use it's seem a good compromise between an ordered and a chaotic ruleset.
Okay let's add a totally luck based card deck with really chaotic and funny rules, a tarot card deck ! (4 suit of 14 card + 22 trump card/Major arcana (including the fool)) We could even invent our one since there is a lot of card to play with (eg. we could have instead of the spade/sword suit an animal or a fire-type suit). So what do you guys think of it ?

Okay, before i propose my rule i was already thinking up, i'd like to take THIS proposal phase to amend another rule. Since nobody has done this, I get to choose the format! Quote the rule, and then add in bold your changes, and strikethrough anything you're removing. I'm simply adding a single sentence though.

Amendment: ~ATH Do We Part

Rule 9.2 said:
Every player may write one ~ATH code (see http://mspaintadventures.wikia.com/wiki/~ATH for details) and PM it to the hosts. It must make some level of sense programming-wise and with ~ATH's constraints, but because ~ATH is so esoteric (and fictional), you may make up some details. Once the player, or real life person, attached to the loop dies, the code will execute, affecting the game in some manner of your choosing (provided the hosts accept it). You may edit your -ATH code freely, and change it as much as you want at any time before it is executed

Hmmm... I do want to make an absurdly complicated ~ATH code like the Mobiiu2 Double Reacharound Viiru2, but many ~ATH codes actually DO stuff before the loop terminates. See mine. I'll think about it.

PROPOSAL: Nicknames
When this rule passes, any player may state that they are now using a nickname of their choosing. Whenever you mention this player's name, whether quoting them or voting for/against their proposal, you must use their nickname instead. Failure to do so will result in a penalty of 2 points. This does mean you have to alter the quote tags.

What's the contest?
"I challenge you to a children (children mean trading card game here) cardgame of your choice !" but I still wait his response.

Amendement: xd xd xd xd
9.4: xd xd xd xd
During each proposal Action phase, players may publicly announce a "hit contract" on any other player. You may only announce one hit per turn. This uses up one of your hit points.

In the same action phase any other player may choose to accept the contract, who will then challenge the targeted player. Each hit can be accpeted once and if it fail to be accepted in the same action phase it is cancelled. This player is called the "hit(wo)man". This challenge can be any sort of contest of luck or skill available (online poker, chess, pokemon, a singoff or danceoff to be voted in by other players, an irc history quiz, etc). The target and the hit(wo)man should agree on something they both want to do (and are both able to do), but the hit(wo)man suggests first. Results should be posted in the nomic thread. There are no ties, so rematch or figure something out. After the resolution of the contract, there are two possible outcomes.

If the target wins the contest, they gain 5 points and a hit point, the contractor loses 5 points, and the hit(wo)man loses nothing. If the target loses the contest, they lose 5 points and a hit point, the contractor gains 5 points, and the hit(wo)man gains 10 points. If the target does not respond in the 48 hours after the challenge they lose 10 points and 2 hit points, the contractor gain 10 points and a hit point and the hit(wo)man gain nothing.

Responding to say I don't accept the challenge because I have never really ever played trading card games, and trying to figure out strategies of something I've never attempted will be fairly difficult, as I just worked a 8a-4p shift and work 2p-10p until Christmas Eve.

I'd be open to doing a quick game of chess, backgammon, some two person card game, or some other game I've actually played before. But it'd kind of have to be tonight sometime.
