To be fair I don't think I've ever seen a forum that does use the points feature?
 
The description for tiering contributor still refers to "official" and "unofficial" metagames, even though they don't exist anymore. Does that mean that the only way to get it now is through OMs
also should this technically go in pr

Ok two more questions
1. If voters for all formats other than top-level formats get TC at 6 votes, then why do I see suspects that say they don't count for TC? example 1 example 2
2. What does "RoA is exempt from this criteria" mean????? What tiers need 6 votes and what tiers need 4? I assume the OUs and most lower tiers from ADV onwards need 4 votes but what about for example RBY UU which was not an official tier before? What is it now? What about ADV DOU? ADV RU?

I can pass that first part on, but (speaking as myself not as official smod decree):
Many suspects do not count for TC, for any number of reasons (such as not having a ladder to earn requirements on, primarily). It has never been the case that everything that is on the /suspects/ page has qualified for TC, and there will continue to be suspect tests that do not qualify for TC.
ROA tiers are either OUs, or are lower tiers that have varying levels of "legitimacy". The thread by feen is focused on the current generation, it does not intend to further complicate old gen lower tiers, many of which fall outside of the structure.

This suspect says it counts for TC despite there being no ladder for DPP UU and also nothing about the TC post says anything about the format having to have a ladder for it to count

DPP UU was official when DPP was current gen, so it retains the ability to give out TC, is the short answer, and why ROA is mostly excluded from the feen thread changes.
 
You're asking about a post from 4 years ago that talks about a subforum that no longer is in active use that had different rules (Blind Voting) using terminology that is no longer in active effect. The short answer is that tiering is complex and has many asterisks and no single description or set of words is going to cover every edge case, let alone when multiple different things are being conflated - "has a ladder" is a good shorthand but not a strict exhaustive rule, as is former official status or what have you. There is a reason my posts are littered with "short answer", "primarily", "for any number of reasons", and so on.
 
I guess I'm asking how is it decided whether a vote counts for TC? Also it doesn't really make sense for a vote that would've counted for TC when Blind Voting was a thing to no longer count...
 
the only badge you can really dm about is tiering contributor and it would be the community leader running the section of your last suspect test vote most of the time. Everything else has more abstract / hidden requirements that doesn't result in a guarentee that you will get the badge.
 
Guys I've been struggling lowkey with a mega ampharos team with the current roster in champions. I tried trick room amp and lighting rod manectric, and raichu, shit I even tried plus minus ampharos and manetric. Any suggestions. So far im sticking with mega ampharos, slowking-g ,mamoswine, and pelipper. Im stuck in the other two. I co sidereal archaludon but hes not rlly suitable for trick room. Which is the only way I get decent results with ampharos.

I've been trying to find threads from before the release of DP, when ADV was the current generation. Mostly just out of curiosity. I know majority of older threads are in Cold Storage, but I can't seem to find anything from before 2007. I've seen users with join dates from 2005, so unless there was some sort of transfer that resulted in threads around 2005/6 not being preserved, there has to be some somewhere. Is there anywhere else I could check?
