Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
have been working on this for a long time.
Metagame Name: OnslaughtMons
Summary: so basically it’s natdex ou but u can use 24 mons and za megas. This means that games are longer but more strategic. U can fit more support, more breakers, and more sweepers on a team than ever before.
Not rly sure what else to put here tbh.
The blobs were kinda just insta banned coz we were worried about stall but i think they will be unbanned at some point
EDIT:
I don’t have a changlog rn but stuff can be found on my yt (@wyrdsrevenge not gonna link it coz of advertising) also, the mascot of this format def has to be gholdengo, prob the best mon since the bliss ban
EDIT 2: here’s the website : https://sites.google.com/view/onslaughtmons-resource-hub/home
Summary of the Mod: A random battles format, with exclusively Gen 1 Pokemon. All new generation additions (physical/special split, dark steel and fairy type, abilities, etc) are added. On top of this, all pokemon are balanced to have a BST of 600, and they all also get new abilities, as well as sometimes moveset changes.
Notes: Pokemon like Onix and Porygon who get evolutions in gens after gen 1 are not eviolite compatible. Also I am decently new, so some of the things here may be incorrect or unbalanced, if it is I will try to change it. Also I only just realised that this is basically just ReGeneration Random Battle, but I didn't know about that before I made this.
Just because I have been working on it for the past couple hours I might as well post my progress here and show off the silly project I have decided to bring into existence.
Name of Mod: Mix and Mega - Limited Supply Link to Changes: You Can Find Spreadsheet Here Summary of the Mod: Based on the OM Mix and Mega. For those who do not know, you can give any Pokemon any Mega Stone (with some Pokemon and some Stones banned) and all of your team can Mega Evolve. For this mod I figured I would add a twist to that: a limited selection of Pokemon, each with access to only a limited selection of Mega Stones. The Spreadsheet (which I will work on cleaning up) will gradually add more and more Pokemon, but each Pokemon will only be allowed no more than 5 Mega Stones (the exception being Arceus, who will retain access to all of its plates). The idea being that the restrictive sets allow folks to be creative with their choices without using all of the dominating sets from vanilla Mix and Mega. Obvious rules carry over, such as not allowing multiple Pokemon on your team to be holding the same Mega Stone. The big benefits this adds though is allowing Pokemon that could normally not Mega Evolve, like Slaking, have a limited supply of options availble to it as well. Of course, a number of these Pokemon can choose not to hold Mega Stones instead, and there may be some strategy in doing so.
Am I going to regret letting this come into existence half-baked? Maybe. Will I continue working on this? Absolutely.
Oh hey now that the spin-off concept for this concept was accepted as a PetMod, I will be cancelling the solomod version of it here. Go ahead and remove it from the list and I will delete these two posts.
Pet Mod Name: STABmons VGC
Functionally simple, regular VGC rules apply including legality except STABmons rules apply. I do not know what to say except that, it just seems like it would be fun and it's something i am passionate about.
I made an Overwatch Pokemon cross over tier. It's probably super unbalanced rn but I put a lot of effort into it. I would really appreciate some feedback on it. I'm not really expecting this to go anywhere I just did it for fun, but I would love to work with someone to put it on pokeathlon or something.
Mod Name: [Gen 2] Space World '97 OU
Mascot:
Summary of Mod: A playable version of the Spaceworld 1997 GS demo! Its kinda like a Gen 1.5, but in a complete opposite way to stadium.
Competitive Overview: You have a lot of quirks and traits that will be rather familiar to those well acquainted with both Gens 1 and 2, but the game also has quite a few of its own unique mechanical oddities, such as ignoring move effects if your type combination resists or is immune to the move's type. A lot of stats, type interactions, and move mechanics are also very much unique to this build of the game. It's a very janky mess, but in a good way, definitely worth experiencing imo.
This new Solomod, based on the Generation 9 National Dex, developed by me, is based on the works of YouTuber @x_bell.
The tier, planned to be available in OU, AG, and VGC, rebalances Abilities, Items, Moves, Pokémon, and learnsets to create the premier Pokémon® experience.
Traditionally "weaker" are given access to new moves to help them shine, such as Ampharos now learning Thunderclap. Other Pokemon get new tools to play with, like the new Sky Uppercut dealing supereffective damage on Flying types.
This is not going to be coded for a while. Don't feel like doing it. If anyone else wants to code it, feel free.
Retiring Path of Legends. I simply don't have the motivation to keep it up anymore, and I have other ideas for Solomods anyway. School is also keeping me from making passion projects currently.
I will have more Solomods to show a long time from now, though, so keep your eyes peeled!
In this thrilling Metagame, you'll have the chance to play with amazing Pokémon such as:
- Cramorant
- Cramorant
- Cramorant
- Cramoraid
- Mega Cramorant
- and Cramorant
You can check out the full roster here. These were all the Cramorants I could find across every single mod. Zekrom Kick is banned sinze Zekrom is not a Cramorant. Now get cramming!
A while ago I started a gartic phone-esque tournament with my friends, in which they would each start with coming up with names, then certain stats, then typings, et cetera, all of this so that we can draft them and have a tourney with these mons in the end. This is the result of this year. It's meant to be played in doubles but of course a singles and FFA format are there too because options are fun!

Ik this isn't popular, like at all, but I still wanted to update it for completion sake
Some silent changes were made, most notably have been banned
There were just too strong, and in Gholdengo's case, oppressive with denying hazard removal.
Then alongside the Mega Rev slate, I made some additional changes.
Prevolutions can now hold Eviolite
Signature moves are added back
have been banned
UU has been added (based on personal viability)
I hope that this allows for a more fun meta, but I don't think that interest will spike with this
I thought I'd give an update to this, cause why not
Mod Name: Twilight Emergence Mascots: and Summary of Mod: A metagame around NU, ZU and PU level Pokemon in a metagame that centers around Dark, Psychic and Ghost type Pokemon as the cornerstones of the metagame.
This metagame plays pretty fun. Knock Off is very rare, but item removal is still present with the buffed Corrosive Gas (it's not a STAB move, it's too weak for that, so it's solely a utility move). Stealth Rock is now only on (some) Rock types, no more slapping a random bulky Ground with Rocks if you need it
Choice Band is the sole damage boosting item that hits above 1.2 as a multiplier, evoking Gen 3 wallbreaker vibes.
To answer this, this definitely seems more like a Pet Mod than a solomod since it's slate-based and doesn't have anything finished for it already, so it should go in the Pet Mods Submissions thread as you've already done rather than here

retiring this one, since I have something more original
National Dex - Weakest State
I know, really creative. Initially, I was gonna do a massive update to "Strongest State". This idea is like "The Bore", an idea that not many people can get behind so it is mostly me who's interested in it. Thus, I wanted to go wild with the idea. However, after some consideration, I figured, that this idea works better with those wild ideas. The wild idea being that changes from the Space World demo and side games like Arceus, ZA and Champions will be added. The space world demo specifically is a grand new addition, due to its Type Chart.
As a refresher, this Metagame is a National Dex based format, where every Pokemon, Move, Item, Ability and Mechanic is in a state where they never received buffs. A lot of stuff has been changed in this franchise, but here only nerfs that an element has received since its introduction will be kept, while all the buffs are removed. This obviously removed a lot of power from the meta.
Here's a list of all relevant changes.
A lot of Pokemon got stat buffs throughout the Generations, but those will be removed in this meta. Additionally, I will keep the Generation 1 Special stat. From Gen 1 to Gen 2, a lot of Pokemon got their Special split into Sp. Attack and Sp. Defense. I will the nerf the Pokemon's stats to resemble their Gen 1 stats. This is a new addition, which I thought would be fun. I was going to provide a full list of stat changes, but I think I'll get sent over the character limit.
Relevant Pokemon
Clefable: -10 SpA, -5 SpD
Pelipper: -10 SpA
Niche Pokemon
Slowbro: -20 SpA
Not many changes here and they have no significant impact.
Inner Focus, Oblivious, Own Tempo, Rattled and Scrappy: No longer provide an immunity to Intimidate.
This really only affects Mega Lopunny, who can get slowed down by Landorus-T.
Lightning Rod and Storm Drain: No longer provide an immunity to their respective type.
This is a niche change but it singificantly affects Gastrodon, Alolan Marowak and Mega Sceptile and what they want to accomplish.
Weak Armor: Raises Speed by 1 stage instead of 2.
Ceruledge, Armarouge and Polteageist have a harder time sweeping.
Rough Skin: Damages the opponent by 1/16th of their max HP.
Now cancels only one turn of Leftovers. Won't impact Garchomp much but it hurt it in some cases.
Type boosting items now boost their power by 10%. This is a nothing change, since plates still give the 20% power boost.
Pinch Berries got massive nerfs. Healing 12.5% whenever being below 25% HP. It is obvious why they are no longer on the Watchlist. I was too lazy to edit this.
Now only doubles Pikachu's Special Attack. Again, nothing change.
Now takes 10 consecutive turns to have 2x damage. This item got harder to use.
There are a lot of changes. From PP, Accuracy, BP and effect nerfs and so on. I will only cover relevant nerfs.

Wave Crash: 75 BP
Will-O-Wisp: 75% Acc
Status
Paralysis now has a 1/8 chance to activate. Originally the nerf was 63/256 due to Gen 1 shenanigans, but thanks to Champtions, this nerf is impactful.
Sleep now lasts 3 turns and the Pokemon has a 1/3 chance to wake up on the second turn. Another champions classic. I think it speaks for itself what this means.
Freeze now lasts 3 turns and the Pokemon has a 1/4 chance to thaw. With Freeze-Dry no longer freezing, this removes a strategy from many Pokemon's pools.
Poison now deals 1/16 of the Pokemon's HP in damage. Sludge Bomb Poison is now way less punishing.
Partial Trapping now lasts for 2-3 turns, 5 turns with a Grip Claw, and deals 1/16 damage, 1/8 with Binding Band. This massively nerfs Heatran and Whirlpool users.
Weather
Sand no longer provides a Special Defense boost to Rock-types. Tyranitar now really struggles to tank hits and this will hurt its offensive and defensive prowess.
Critical Hits
Critical Hits now have new chances:
+0 - ~1/25 (3.9%)
+1 - 1/8 (12.5%)
+2 - 1/4 (25%)
+3 - ~1/3 (33.2%)
+4 - 1/2 (50%)
Critical Hits do 1.167x damage now
Critical Hits ignore the attacker's stat boosts and the defender's stat drops
Type Chart
I took the Generation 1 type chart and added all defensive nerfs a type can receive from the later generations. However, for Dark and Steel, I took the Space World demo chart first, then the GSC type chart. This has a massive impact on these two types.
Bug is now weak to Poison.
Dark is now weak to Dark and Normal, while resisting Psychic and no longer being immune to Prankster moves.
Electric is no longer immune to Paralysis.
Fighting no longer resists Dark.
Fire no longer resists Ice and Steel.
Ghost is no longer immune to Trapping.
Grass is no longer immune to Powder moves.
Poison is now weak to Bug.
Steel is now weak to Electric and Water, while no longer resisting Bug, Dragon, Flying, Grass, Ice, Normal and Psychic. Steel is also no longer immune to Poison and resists it instead, but still keeps the Poison/Toxic status immunity.
The biggest losers here are Dark- and especially Steel-types. Fire is a significant loser too, since Steel but more importantly Ice are big types to loose a resistance to. Obviously half the types got better offensively due to Steel no longer resisting them.

Metagame Review
Winners: STABs no longer resisted: This is a wide range of buffs for a lot of Pokemon. TL;DR with the Steel nerf 7 types (Bug, Dragon, Flying, Grass, Ice, Normal and Psychic) lost something that resists them, 1 type (Poison) is now resisted instead of being immune and 2 types (Electric and Water) are now super effective against Steel. This allows Pokemon to focus less on coverage, more onto their main STABs, or more easily gain coverage against resistances.
Here's a list of Pokemon that greatly benefit from these offensive buffs, that aren't part of the next three points.
Bug-types: While benefitting from the Steel nerf, they also lost a resist in Poison and gain super effective coverage on them. While Poison isn't that common of a defensive type, a U-turn, especially with a STAB, can now really hurt Glowking and Toxapex. Pokemon like Mega Beedrill, Buzzwole, Heracross and Lokix can now put more emphasis on their Bug STAB.
Ice-types: Gaining neutrality against Fire in addition to Steel is a massive buff. These two were the most important resistances Ice had and some Ice-types have Freeze-Dry against Waters and potentially a secondary STAB against other Ice-types. Weavile lost Knock Off as an offensive option, which sucks for it, but Triple Axel and Ice Shard got so much more valuable. Mamoswine can rely less on its Ground STAB to muscle through and Arctozolt generally got more opportunity to throw out its STABs. However, the biggest winner here is Kyurem. The special attacker with Freeze-Dry. Freeze-Dry might have lost its Freeze chance, Icicle Spear disappeared as an option and Stealth Rock gotten harder to remove, but only having Ice to resist your Ice STAB is nasty and not anything that a Draco Meteor or sheer strength cannot overcome.
Psychic-types: Psychic is no longer negated by Dark, however Dark still resists Psychic. This matters little however, since Steel no longer resists Psychic, making Psychic effectively loose only an immunity. This is massive for Psychic spam, since you can effortlessly throw out Psychic STAB. Pursuit might exist, but no user can switch into a Psychic-type due to lack of resistances or frailty, with the only exception being Kingambit. This is a Pokemon that can still deal with Psychics, except for one, which can a nursance to it. Latios is one of the biggest winners here. Luster Purge nerf sucks, but Draco and Psychic become far more deadly. Hoopa-U now has a worse defensive typing, but Psychic and Dark STAB now complemented each other perfectly. However, the biggest winner here is Tapu Lele. This thing hits really hard and thanks to Psychic Surge it isn't threatened by Kingambit's Sucker Punch immediately, allowing it to 1v1 Kingambit.
Mega Lopunny: Scrappy no longer provides an immunity to Intimidate, but Normal now hits Steel neutraly and Dark for super effective damage, meaning that Lopunny's Normal STAB is only resisted by Rock. Obviously, CC allows you to hit Rocks but in all honesty, it might want to run coverage for other Pokemon or run utility instead. The worst that can happen, is giving Garganacl a free turn, but Salt Cure being nerfed removes its overall effectiveness. I think that Lopunny will be one of the best checks to offense in this meta.
Losers: Steel-types: As mentioned many times before, Steel got many nerfs. Going from 10 resistances, 1 immunity and 3 weaknesses to 4 resistances and 5 weaknesses. Only good match-ups being against Fairy, Poison, Rock and Steel with Poison going from an immunity to a resist. The worst part is that most Steel-types are dual types. In vanilla, a secondary Steel-type elevated every other type, now it is just a detriment. The only Steel-type that is not heavily nerfed being Melmetal. The pure Steel-type isn't that bad defensively, it having good stats and with Fire not resisting Steel, it can still accomplish a lot of things. The rest though, Corviknight, Ferrothorn, Heatran, Gholdengo, Iron Treads, Magearna, Mega Scizor and Zamazenta-C really hurt with their new type match-ups. There's one OU Steel that I neglected here and that is Kingambit, who got screwed over massively.
Dark-types: Dark is the other type that significantly changed. First of all, the positives. Dark being super effective against other Darks and Fighting no longer resisting Dark is massive buff for this type. Offensively, it got better for most Pokemon. Note that I said most, due to Knock Off falling off as an offensive move. Also, in case you noticed I said that Dark is super effective against Dark, which means that Dark lost a resistance and that resistance is now a weakness. That alongside Normal hitting Dark for super effective damage really hurts it defensively. Ting-Lu, Tyranitar, Samurott-Hisui and Urshifu now have a harder time coming in or tanking hits 1v1. Kingambit however, is the biggest looser defensively. It went from 3 weaknesses (1 of them 4x), 9 resistances and 2 immunities to 8 weaknesses (1 of them 4x) and 5 resistances. It still got buffed offensively with Dark and Steel hitting a lot more Pokemon, but it has a way harder time coming in and setting up. It is still on the watchlist for its offensive potential.
Hazards, Rapid Spin and Defog:
Stealth Rock was initially banned but it is back now. Without Stealth Rock, dozens of Pokemon became issues, so it was decided that dealing with Stealth Rock is so much easier than dealing with the issues its absence create. Dealing with Stealth Rocks is much harder still. Defog no longer removes them and while Rapid Spin still does, it got nerfed hard. The BP nerf will not come it often but the the removal of the speed boost can hinder a spinner a lot. Great Tusk got additional nerfs with Headlong Rush going down to 100 BP and Knock Off getting hard nerfed as well. EQ and High Horsepower now become the Ground STAB of choice. Terapagos can also spin but it has to carry the entire hazard game.
Spikes now lay one layer maximum so their effectiveness is also reduced. Spikers got hit really hard by this and will prefer Rocks if they have to choose between them. They can still be useful, especially against Rocks resistances, which didn't get affected by the Type Chart changes. However, Steel- and Fighting-types got some of their cruicial resistances which makes them a lot weaker defensively, so Ground-types are the only ones substantially affected by Spikes.
Weather: - Water-types got a massive buff. Being able to hit through Storm Drain and hitting Steel-types for super effective damage, allows Rain Abusers to muscle through a lot of teams. Obviously, this does not make them top tier, but in addition to Charizard Y's weakness in Stealth Rocks being amplified by the hurdle of its removal and Tyranitar loosing a lot of power with the Sand nerf, Rain has lost a lot of competition. Furthermore, the Steel nerf allows Tornadus-T, Thundurus-T, Zapdos and Tapu Koko to go wild with their STABs. Definitively, something to look out for and keep in mind.
- With Stealth Rock being effectively permament, Sun will have a massive thorn in its sight. The banning of Raging Bolt and with Great Tusk being nerfed, Sun has lost a lot of its power. Sun is still great, especially with Venusaur and Charizard-Y's power. Eventhough, it is nerfed, Great Tusk can still work on Sun and function as a spinner. Sun is flawed, but the playstyle still has a place.
- Oh boy, Tyranitar. Sand was not looking good before, but now it has gotten worse. Sand can still accomplish many things, but Tyranitar not only loosing Special Defense boost, but also loosing the Normal resistance, gaining a Dark weakness, loosing the flinch chance on Rock Slide and having Knock Off massively nerfed, leaves this guy with almost nothing and he was the backbone of this playstyle.
Unbans and their Potential - It feels strange saying this but Magearna might be balanced here. It still has crazy set-up and snowball potential, but it has a fewer opportunities to set-up thanks to the Steel nerf. It benefits from Fire no longer resisting Steel but Flash Cannon was never its best move, although Dark-types no longer being immune to Stored Power makes it a lot more threatening.
- The Dark changes go both ways for Urshifu. On one hand, it is now weak to Dark and Normal, on the other hand, it is now strong against other Dark- and Fighting-types. Offensively, it is stronger but at the same time, Wicked Blow now having an effective base power of 87, makes it a weaker Pokemon overall. We have to see about this one.
- His ass is not escaping this. Now yes, it is a bundle of stats, but at the same time, it lost like 2/3 of its favourable match-ups. For context, it went from 3 weaknesses, 8 resistances (2 are 4x) and 1 immunity to 7 weaknesses and 4 resistances (2 are 4x). It now needs a lot of things going its way. It is definitively still a borderline case, but I'm confident it will stay.
Update 1 (May 14th)
Stealth Rock, Drizzle, Charizard-Mega Y and Volcarona unbanned
Raging Bolt banned
Reasoning: Stealth Rocks were preemptively banned, due to fears of permament Stealth Rock. However, after building teams it was realised that dealing with Stealth Rocks is much easier compared to 10-15 other threats that now benefit from the lacks of the hazard. Drizzle, Charizard-Y and Volcarona have been banned since the lack of Stealth Rocks were immediately benefitting them. Raging Bolt has been banned due to its high power moves and lack of resistances with Steel no longer resisting Dragon and Electric being super effective against Steel.
Name of Mod: Forgerymons Mascot: Link to changes Summary of the Mod: funny fox thief used Thief and stole every signature move and ability and gave them to almost everyone, saw what was going on and used Judgment to get rid of some of the newly distributed signature moves and abilities. is not happy, but who cares?
Retiring. Couldn't be bothered coding it, nobody else could either, I don't think anyone except me even expressed interest in playing it lmao. I also have a better solomod idea which I'm cooking up
Bio-Items one day I was looking at pokemon and noticed that some of them look like they have items as part of their bodies. So I looked again and noticed there were way more than I was expecting, enough that something interesting could be done with them in fact! And that's what this is.
This is an OU-based format and surprisingly I don't think anything that wasn't already in Ubers got boosted to beyond-OU power levels, but here are some mons I thought were noteworthy: - Every Magnemite other than Magnemite suddenly became significantly more viable, with Magnezone getting ~1.7x Electric damage, Sandy Shocks getting ~2.1x Electric damage, and Magneton getting an absurd ~3x Electric damage! If you just want to destroy everything that isn't immune to Electric-type moves then Magneton is absolutely the best option, being able to make anything that isn't resistant or immune to Electric fear for its life. Sandy Shocks doesn't quite hit as hard, but it's also much bulkier, Ground is much better offensively, and losing the 4x weakness means it doesn't require Eviolite to survive a Ting-Lu Earthquake. I'm sure there's some niche use for Magnezone... maybe... - These picks may not have gotten as insane a boost as the Magnemites, but what makes them stand out is that they're already viable or semi-viable in OU! Sure, only a 1.2x boost to one damage type may not be much, but that might be all that was needed to make them truly shine! - Even those in ZU and below got a glow-up! Sure, they're most likely not going to matter, but perhaps what you needed in life was simply a really fast and strong Brave Bird or a hard-hitting Mach Punch that never has to worry about contact effects. Or maybe you looked at Rampardos and thought "what if it hit harder" because it does now, or what if you wanted it to be a different type because now Glastrier hits like a train with its ~2.1x Ice boost and if you're willing to give either of them a little they can (but probably won't) give you a lot!
And if you think I missed something or erroneously added something that shouldn't be present, let me know and I'll be more than happy to co-operate! I am accepting suggestions for a better name btw
