Name of Mod: Gen 1 Enhanced

Mascot: :raichu:

Summary of the Mod: A random battles format, with exclusively Gen 1 Pokemon. All new generation additions (physical/special split, dark steel and fairy type, abilities, etc) are added. On top of this, all pokemon are balanced to have a BST of 600, and they all also get new abilities, as well as sometimes moveset changes.

Notes: Pokemon like Onix and Porygon who get evolutions in gens after gen 1 are not eviolite compatible. Also I am decently new, so some of the things here may be incorrect or unbalanced, if it is I will try to change it. Also I only just realised that this is basically just ReGeneration Random Battle, but I didn't know about that before I made this.

Just because I have been working on it for the past couple hours I might as well post my progress here and show off the silly project I have decided to bring into existence.

Name of Mod: Mix and Mega - Limited Supply
Link to Changes: You Can Find Spreadsheet Here
Summary of the Mod: Based on the OM Mix and Mega. For those who do not know, you can give any Pokemon any Mega Stone (with some Pokemon and some Stones banned) and all of your team can Mega Evolve. For this mod I figured I would add a twist to that: a limited selection of Pokemon, each with access to only a limited selection of Mega Stones. The Spreadsheet (which I will work on cleaning up) will gradually add more and more Pokemon, but each Pokemon will only be allowed no more than 5 Mega Stones (the exception being Arceus, who will retain access to all of its plates). The idea being that the restrictive sets allow folks to be creative with their choices without using all of the dominating sets from vanilla Mix and Mega. Obvious rules carry over, such as not allowing multiple Pokemon on your team to be holding the same Mega Stone. The big benefits this adds though is allowing Pokemon that could normally not Mega Evolve, like Slaking, have a limited supply of options availble to it as well. Of course, a number of these Pokemon can choose not to hold Mega Stones instead, and there may be some strategy in doing so.

Am I going to regret letting this come into existence half-baked? Maybe. Will I continue working on this? Absolutely.
Oh hey now that the spin-off concept for this concept was accepted as a PetMod, I will be cancelling the solomod version of it here. Go ahead and remove it from the list and I will delete these two posts.

Mod Name: [Gen 2] Space World '97 OU
Mascot: :ho-oh:
Summary of Mod: A playable version of the Spaceworld 1997 GS demo! Its kinda like a Gen 1.5, but in a complete opposite way to stadium.
Competitive Overview: You have a lot of quirks and traits that will be rather familiar to those well acquainted with both Gens 1 and 2, but the game also has quite a few of its own unique mechanical oddities, such as ignoring move effects if your type combination resists or is immune to the move's type. A lot of stats, type interactions, and move mechanics are also very much unique to this build of the game. It's a very janky mess, but in a good way, definitely worth experiencing imo.

:bronzong:Paldea, Improved:bronzong:

This new Solomod, based on the Generation 9 National Dex, developed by me, is based on the works of YouTuber @x_bell.
The tier, planned to be available in OU, AG, and VGC, rebalances Abilities, Items, Moves, Pokémon, and learnsets to create the premier Pokémon
® experience.
Traditionally "weaker" are given access to new moves to help them shine, such as Ampharos now learning Thunderclap. Other Pokemon get new tools to play with, like the new Sky Uppercut dealing supereffective damage on Flying types.

This is not going to be coded for a while. Don't feel like doing it. If anyone else wants to code it, feel free.

Retiring Path of Legends. I simply don't have the motivation to keep it up anymore, and I have other ideas for Solomods anyway. School is also keeping me from making passion projects currently.

I will have more Solomods to show a long time from now, though, so keep your eyes peeled!

A while ago I started a gartic phone-esque tournament with my friends, in which they would each start with coming up with names, then certain stats, then typings, et cetera, all of this so that we can draft them and have a tourney with these mons in the end. This is the result of this year. It's meant to be played in doubles but of course a singles and FFA format are there too because options are fun!

all the stats, data and sprites can be found in this spreadsheet (check 2nd page for sprites and data)

Can we recruit these spriters for Pet Mods overall, I'll promise I'll get them a snack maybe

Update 4 (yeah it is still alive)

Ik this isn't popular, like at all, but I still wanted to update it for completion sake

Some silent changes were made, most notably
:dragapult::gholdengo: have been banned
There were just too strong, and in Gholdengo's case, oppressive with denying hazard removal.

Then alongside the Mega Rev slate, I made some additional changes.
  1. Prevolutions can now hold Eviolite
  2. Signature moves are added back
  3. :dragonite::kommo-o::dracovish: have been banned
  4. UU has been added (based on personal viability)
I hope that this allows for a more fun meta, but I don't think that interest will spike with this
I thought I'd give an update to this, cause why not

Mod Name: Twilight Emergence
Mascots: :Espeon: and :Umbreon:
Summary of Mod: A metagame around NU, ZU and PU level Pokemon in a metagame that centers around Dark, Psychic and Ghost type Pokemon as the cornerstones of the metagame.

This metagame plays pretty fun. Knock Off is very rare, but item removal is still present with the buffed Corrosive Gas (it's not a STAB move, it's too weak for that, so it's solely a utility move). Stealth Rock is now only on (some) Rock types, no more slapping a random bulky Ground with Rocks if you need it

Choice Band is the sole damage boosting item that hits above 1.2 as a multiplier, evoking Gen 3 wallbreaker vibes.

idk if this should be a solomod or petmod. please veto if it should be a solomod
Hello and welcome to Pet Mods!

To answer this, this definitely seems more like a Pet Mod than a solomod since it's slate-based and doesn't have anything finished for it already, so it should go in the Pet Mods Submissions thread as you've already done rather than here

retiring this one, since I have something more original

:sv/urshifu:National Dex - Weakest State:sv/urshifu-rapid-strike:

I know, really creative. Initially, I was gonna do a massive update to "Strongest State". This idea is like "The Bore", an idea that not many people can get behind so it is mostly me who's interested in it. Thus, I wanted to go wild with the idea. However, after some consideration, I figured, that this idea works better with those wild ideas. The wild idea being that changes from the Space World demo and side games like Arceus, ZA and Champtions will be added. The space world demo specifically is a grand new addition, due to its Type Chart.

As a refresher, this Metagame is a National Dex based format, where every Pokemon, Move, Item, Ability and Mechanic is in a state where they never received buffs. A lot of stuff has been changed in this franchise, but here only nerfs that an element has received since its introduction will be kept, while all the buffs are removed. This obviously removed a lot of power from the meta.

Here's a list of all relevant changes.
A lot of Pokemon got stat buffs throughout the Generations, but those will be removed in this meta. Additionally, I will keep the Generation 1 Special stat. From Gen 1 to Gen 2, a lot of Pokemon got their Special split into Sp. Attack and Sp. Defense. I will the nerf the Pokemon's stats to resemble their Gen 1 stats. This is a new addition, which I thought would be fun. I was going to provide a full list of stat changes, but I think I'll get sent over the character limit.

Relevant Pokemon
:sv/clefable::sv/pelipper:
  • Clefable: -10 SpA, -5 SpD
  • Pelipper: -10 SpA

Niche Pokemon
:sv/slowbro:
  • Slowbro: -20 SpA
Not many changes here and they have no significant impact.

Inner Focus, Oblivious, Own Tempo, Rattled and Scrappy: No longer provide an immunity to Intimidate.
This really only affects Mega Lopunny, who can get slowed down by Landorus-T.

Lightning Rod and Storm Drain: No longer provide an immunity to their respective type.
This is a niche change but it singificantly affects Gastrodon, Alolan Marowak and Mega Sceptile and what they want to accomplish.

Weak Armor: Raises Speed by 1 stage instead of 2.
Ceruledge, Armarouge and Polteageist have a harder time sweeping.

Rough Skin: Damages the opponent by 1/16th of their max HP.
Now cancels only one turn of Leftovers. Won't impact Garchomp much but it hurt it in some cases.
:silk-scarf: Type boosting items now boost their power by 10%. This is a nothing change, since plates still give the 20% power boost.

:aguav-berry::Figy-Berry::Iapapa-Berry::Mago-Berry::Wiki-Berry: Pinch Berries got massive nerfs. Healing 12.5% whenever being below 25% HP. It is obvious why they are no longer on the Watchlist. I was too lazy to edit this.

:light-ball: Now only doubles Pikachu's Special Attack. Again, nothing change.

:metronome: Now takes 10 consecutive turns to have 2x damage. This item got harder to use.
There are a lot of changes. From PP, Accuracy, BP and effect nerfs and so on. I will only cover relevant nerfs.

  1. Blizzard: Hits one target and looses perfect accuracy in Snow
  2. Bolt Beak: 80 BP, max 160 BP
  3. Bullet Seed: 10 BP, max 50 BP
  4. Crab Hammer: 90 BP, 85% Acc
  5. Defog: No longer removes hazards from user's side
  6. Diamond Storm: Boosts Defense by 1 stage
  7. Dire Claw: 60 BP, 30% chance to inflict status
  8. Double-Edge: 100 BP
  9. Drain Punch: 60 BP, 5 PP
  10. Fishious Rend: 80 BP, max 160 BP
  11. Freeze-Dry: No chance to freeze
  12. Future Sight: 80 BP, 90% Acc
  13. Giga Drain: 60 BP, 5 PP
  14. Glare: 75% Acc
  15. Headlong Rush: 100 BP
  16. Hex: 50 BP, max 100 BP
  17. High Jump Kick: 85 BP
  18. Icicle Spear: 10 BP, max 50 BP
  19. Iron Head: 20% chance to flinch
  20. Knock Off: 20 BP, no Damage Boost
  21. Leech Seed: 1/16 of target's HP is restored to the user
  22. Luster Purge: 70 BP
  23. Make it Rain: 95% Acc
  24. Meteor Mash: 85% Acc
  25. Moonblast: 10% chance to lower Special Attack
  26. Mystical Fire: 65 BP
  27. Rapid Spin: 20 BP, no longer boosts Speed
  28. Rock Blast: 85% Acc
  29. Rock Slide: No chance to flinch
  30. Salt Cure: Damages target by 1/16 of their max HP, 1/8 if Steel or Water
  31. Spikes: Maximum 1 layer
  32. Tail Glow: Boosts Special Attack by 2 stages
  33. Thunder: 10% chance to paralyze
  34. Waterfall: No chance to flinch
  35. Wave Crash: 75 BP
  36. Will-O-Wisp: 85% Acc
Status
  • Paralysis now has a 1/8 chance to activate. Originally the nerf was 63/256 due to Gen 1 shenanigans, but thanks to Champtions, this nerf is impactful.
  • Sleep now lasts 3 turns and the Pokemon has a 1/3 chance to wake up on the second turn. Another champions classic. I think it speaks for itself what this means.
  • Freeze now lasts 3 turns and the Pokemon has a 1/4 chance to thaw. With Freeze-Dry no longer freezing, this removes a strategy from many Pokemon's pools.
  • Poison now deals 1/16 of the Pokemon's HP in damage. Sludge Bomb Poison is now way less punishing.
  • Partial Trapping now lasts for 2-3 turns, 5 turns with a Grip Claw, and deals 1/16 damage, 1/8 with Binding Band. This massively nerfs Heatran and Whirlpool users.
Weather
  • Sand no longer provides a Special Defense boost to Rock-types. Tyranitar now really struggles to tank hits and this will hurt its offensive and defensive prowess.
Critical Hits
  • Critical Hits now have new chances:
    • +0 - ~1/25 (3.9%)
    • +1 - 1/8 (12.5%)
    • +2 - 1/4 (25%)
    • +3 - ~1/3 (33.2%)
    • +4 - 1/2 (50%)
  • Critical Hits do 1.16x damage now

Type Chart
I took the Generation 1 type chart and added all defensive nerfs a type can receive from the later generations. However, for Dark and Steel, I took the Space World demo chart first, then the GSC type chart. This has a massive impact on these two types.
  • Bug is now weak to Poison.
  • Dark is now weak to Dark and Normal, while resisting Psychic and no longer being immune to Prankster moves.
  • Electric is no longer immune to Paralysis.
  • Fighting no longer resists Dark.
  • Fire no longer resists Ice and Steel.
  • Ghost is no longer immune to Trapping.
  • Grass is no longer immune to Powder moves.
  • Poison is now weak to Bug.
  • Steel is now weak to Electric and Water, while no longer resisting Bug, Dragon, Flying, Grass, Ice, Normal and Psychic. Steel is also no longer immune to Poison and resists it instead, but still keeps the Poison/Toxic status immunity.

The biggest loosers here are Dark- and especially Steel-types. Fire is a significant looser too, since Steel but more importantly Ice are important types to loose a resistance to. Obviously half the types got better offensively due to Steel no longer resisting them.

Metagame Review:

Hazards, Rapid Spin and Defog:
You have noticed that Stealth Rock is banned. You may wonder why and the reason is simple. Getting rid of them has gotten far harder. Defog no longer removes them and while Rapid Spin still does, it got nerfed hard. The BP nerf will not come it often but the the removal of the speed boost can hinder a spinner a lot. Great Tusk got additional nerfs with Headlong Rush going down to 100 BP and Knock Off getting hard nerfed as well. EQ and High Horsepower now become the Ground STAB of choice. Terapagos can also spin but it cannot carry the entire hazard game. Spikes now lay one layer maximum so their effectiveness is also reduced.

The question here become: Do I ban Stealth Rock or do I let them stay? They still keep a lot of things in check, especially those weak to them but at the same time, not being able to remove them as effectively can get really oppressive. The choice was made to remove them entirely and only rely on Spikes to check certain Pokemon. Stone Axe remains since it is quite niche. Alongside Rocks, Charizard Y and Volcarona also get banned.

Weather:
:pelipper: - Water-types got a massive buff. Being able to hit through Storm Drain and hitting Steel-types for super effective damage, allows Rain Abusers to muscle through a lot of teams. Obviously, this does not make them top tier, but in addition to Charizard Y being banned and Tyranitar loosing a lot of power with the Sand nerf, Rain has lost a lot of competition. Furthermore, the Rocks ban allows Pelipper to more effectively extend Rain duration and Pokemon like Zapdos and Thundurus-T can run more items effectively. Therefore, Drizzle is banned.

:torkoal: - With Stealth Rock banned, so is Charizard Y. Torkoal now becomes the defacto face of sun and without the rocks weakness, it can more effectively run the Heat Rock. Sun now becomes the best with Rain being banned and Sand getting a massive nerf. It is on the watchlist, mostly due to a lot of Paradox Pokemon gaining so much more power in this meta.

:tyranitar: - Oh boy, Tyranitar. Sand was not looking good before, but now it has gotten worse. Sand can still accomplish many things, but Tyranitar not only loosing Special Defense boost, but also loosing the Normal resistance, gaining a Dark weakness, loosing the flinch chance on Rock Slide and having Knock Off massively nerfed, leaves this guy with almost nothing and he was the backbone of this playstyle.

Unbans and their Potential
:magearna: - It feels strange saying this but Magearna might be balanced here. It still has crazy set-up and snowball potential, but it has a fewer opportunities to set-up thanks to the Steel nerf. It benefits from Fire no longer resisting Steel but Flash Cannon was never its best move, although Dark-types no longer being immune to Stored Power makes it a lot more threatening.

:urshifu-gmax: - The Dark changes go both ways for Urshifu. On one hand, it is now weak to Dark and Normal, on the other hand, it is now strong against other Dark- and Fighting-types. Offensively, it is stronger but at the same time, Wicked Blow now having an effective base power of 87, makes it a weaker Pokemon overall. We have to see about this one.

:zamazenta-crowned: - His ass is not escaping this. Now yes, it is a bundle of stats, but at the same time, it lost like 2/3 of its favourable match-ups. For context, it went from 3 weaknesses, 8 resistances (2 are 4x) and 1 immunity to 7 weaknesses and 4 resistances (2 are 4x). It now needs a lot of things going its way. It is definitively still a borderline case, but I'm confident it will stay.
