Project SS UU Lure That Threat [On Hold]

Not open for further replies.
I came to post MixedRachi but got bopped to it so here's what I'm currently running on my Dual screens team;

Necrozma @ Weakness Policy
Prism Armour
252 Atk, 252 Speed, 4 S Atk
Naughty
-Photon Geyser
-Dragon Dance
-Heat Wave
-Earthquake/Knock Off

2HKOs Skarm with Heat Wave with no set up, I tend to go with Knock as the last move. If WP is activated you can OHKO if Sturdy is broken, which SR accomplishes.

Sounds like a cool project for unsets so here’s one:

:ss/mimikyu:
Mimikyu @ Life Orb
Ability: Disguise
EVs: 224 Atk / 32 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Shadow Claw / Shadow Sneak
- Play Rough
- Thunder
- Swords Dance
As said in the announcement post, Skarm is one of the best checks to Mimikyu. However, with 32 Special Attack EVs (and a Life Orb), Mimikyu is able to 2HKO Skarm with Thunder. Also, nobody would even think of mixed Mimikyu given its trash SpA stat, making it a effective lure. Although Thunder could miss, it has an equal chance to paralyze and outdamages Roost, so it still forces Skarm to recover health at the worst case, while you can bring in another special breaker, and still retain your Disguise for another sweep potential. You will sacrifice priority in Shadow Sneak however.

32 SpA Life Orb Mimikyu Thunder vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Skarmory: 169-200 (50.5 - 59.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

I'm just gonna leave this here:
cobalion.png
SkarmBliss Killer (Cobalion) @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Rash Nature
- Rock Polish
- Focus Blast
- Close Combat
- Volt Switch

When Skarm switches in set up rock polish, wait for it to inevitable bodypress and you and OHKO it with +2 focus blast. You can't switch Cobalion on it tho since it 2HKOs you. You can bluff physical with CC and it isnt dead weight agaisnt slowking with Volt switch(do this before or after WP activates as it forces you to switch out, same thing applies for Skarm.) Bring something to deal with the sand castle tho. Make sure sturdy is broken as well, best done with SR on the field

Calcs:
+2 252 SpA Cobalion Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Skarmory: 406-478 (121.5 - 143.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Def Skarmory Body Press vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Cobalion: 164-194 (50.7 - 60%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

437.png

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Charge Beam
- Toxic
- Psychic
- Protect

Zong has good defenses and thanks to the fact that it has things like Charge Beam on the special side it can be an interesting lure of Skarm since each time it is used it can increase the user's special attack. Normally with another set I could not with Skarm.

252+ Def Skarmory Body Press vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Bronzong: 89-105 (26.3 - 31%) -- 6.8% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
+4 0 SpA Bronzong Charge Beam vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Skarmory: 238-280 (71.2 - 83.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Mixed Jirachi by Juno has won this week, congratulations and thank you for submitting! Your post will be added to the Hall of Fame shortly. For now, we'll be luring...

Week 13: Palossand
:ss/palossand:
Palossand @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Scorching Sands
- Toxic
- Shore Up
Palossand is another defensive Pokemon that dropped in the Isle of Armor DLC. It builds a foundation on many defensive teams alongside other common backbones like Skarmory and Blissey, haunting most of the tier's physical attackers and ensuring that they will never get through its sturdy sandy form. It has a lot of weaknesses, though, and surely some of those are exploitable, so it's up to you to figure out how.
Submissions are due Sunday, July 19th.

toxic terrakion

:ss/terrakion:
Terrakion @ Focus Sash
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Close Combat
- Toxic

palossand resists the rock-moves of terrakion and is also immune to its fighting-type stab in close combat and can thus check it pretty well, toxic turns the tables around and gives terrakion and the rest of its teammates the edge of palossand. palossand has to use shore up more often than it wants to stay decently healthy. also palossand is put on a timer and has it tougher to switch into entry-hazards and also the toxic which annoys it heavily everytime palossand steps on the field.

Toxicroak_XY_variocolor.gif

Toxicroak @ Choice Specs
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Sludge Wave
- Sludge Bomb
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball

Toxicroak is great mon and abuses a lot of offensive resources combined with physical SD and NP on the special side. It has a good base. For this occasion I wanted to vary a bit and try a set specs. It is an interesting lure from Palossand with SB in response and spec support. Dark Pulse may be another option but I do not see it viable since it does the same damage and also Palossand is Colbur.

252+ SpA Choice Specs Toxicroak Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Palossand: 274-324 (73.2 - 86.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 SpA Palossand Scorching Sands vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Toxicroak: 216-254 (70.3 - 82.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

849.png

Toxtricity @ Choice Specs
Ability: Punk Rock
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Overdrive
- Sludge Wave
- Boomburst
- Snarl

Toxtricity is one of the pokemon in the tier that completely wall Palossand no matter what, like Golurk or Rhyperior. However, Snarl turns the tables on Specs sets to nail Palossand and Golurk. Colbur is not an issue because Palo is 2HKO'd through Colbur, no matter if full HP or chipped.

252 SpA Choice Specs Punk Rock Toxtricity Snarl vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Colbur Berry Palossand: 135-160 (36 - 42.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Punk Rock Toxtricity Snarl vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Palossand: 270-320 (72.1 - 85.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Edit: thanks to hs for being able to read when I couldnt.

Reserving arcanine (yes im serious)

:Arcanine:
Arcanine @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 72 HP / 252 SpA / 184 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fire Blast
- Toxic
- Teleport
- Morning Sun

Most people expect Arcanine to be physical, so you can bet that your opponent will be suprised as Palossand crumples to a fire blast. Speed EVs are to outspeed scrafless rotom mow and heracross, max SPA to nail the 2hko on the switch in with the rest dumped into HP.

Even if you revealed the heat early on, you can still toxic switch ins such as tyranitar or teleport out to a breaker. Works as a offensive check while stil retaining some defensive utility. You could even give it a shuca berry, but honestly those sneaky pebbles are a pain

252 SpA Arcanine Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Palossand: 189-223 (50.5 - 59.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 SpA Palossand Scorching Sands vs. 72 HP / 0 SpD Arcanine: 182-216 (53.6 - 63.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

So I was gonna post Water Pulse Jirachi, but the right git esteemed gentlemen above me beat me to it. Instead, feast your eyes on THIS

Snorlax @ Life Orb
Ability: Immunity
EVs: 48 HP / 252 Atk / 164 SpA / 44 Spe
Lonely Nature
- Darkest Lariat
- Fire Blast
- Body Slam
- Ice Beam/Surf

Mixed Snorlax is some big brain shit. Ice Beam and Surf are both guaranteed to 2HKO Palossand without hazards and Fire Blast can finish off Skarmory after SR + any other attack.

You can run Blizzard if you want to shift some SAtk EVs into bulk or run hazards, or just generally run something that isn't stupid as fuck.

Bonus Calc;
252+ SpA Ice Gem Snorlax Blizzard vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Palossand: 278-328 (74.3 - 87.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock and 3 layers of Spikes
