Steam Christmas sale

Psychonauts for 2.50 today is a downright steal. I picked up that, dungeons of dredmor, and recettear today.

This is my first steam sale. It's really hard to resist buying a game for 3 bucks that you know you'll put at least 10 hours into. Luckily my computer can't run much of the newer stuff so everything I can pick up is usually under 5 bucks so my wallet doesn't take THAT much of a hit.

I AM SO FURIOUS I PICKED UP PSYCHONAUTS FOR 5 DOLLARS IN THE FALL SALE GUHGHSGHGH

Don't have any money really, but picked up Half Life 2 for 2.50, shits a steal at that price (would have considered the full package but I already have enough windows games I can't run on my computer).

Guys how's Amnesia? Is it worth my 5$?
I shitted myself approximately everywhere when playing that in march at two in the morning at a friends house. Do it.
I'd buy it if it worked on mac. Will be buying portal two regardless of pricing.

Silly, you'll never play them!

:D

Is Psychonauts a DD? I really want to play it and the current price is exceptionally low (it's not like they'd go lower), but it's not listed on the front page (which is fucking infuriating for working out what the deals and the prices are..).

ETA: Whatever, picked it up, did a search and it does seem to be a hidden deal. I had the money leftover from Portal 2 anyway.

2 Coals, 1 -33% Valve coupon. Might use that on Portal 2 after the sales, since I don't have the money to buy it now (during that sale). That coupon is a bit annoying though, since I already have all the games I would want from Valve, so I just need to use it on mildly interesting stuff (like the Portal 2).

On another note. Psychonaut. What kind of game is it, would it be worth the 2.50€?

Psychonauts is a 3D platforming game and probably the best game of the last generation that nobody played. It's main issue is that the devs ran out of time and the last level is insane compared to the rest of the game, and the hilarious writing dips in quality very quickly after the "Milkman" level.

You go into peoples dreams and solve problems.

It's worth it if you haven't played it do.

think I'll grab Psychonauts too, thanks for the heads up.

also should've mentioned it earlier, but Humble Indie Bundle 4 is up and Good Old Games is having a 50% off sale, both of those may be worth checking out.

Milkman was the first of my three favourite levels iirc so I wouldn't say the quality dropped off quickly after that. And yes god Psychonauts is so worth the asking pricing. Top quality writing and a great platformer.

I unpacked STORM: Frontline Nation and Dungeons of Dreadmore, as well as a 25% of Valve coupon. Not bad?

Don't think I'll get anything today. Arkham City is tempting but apparently the PC version still has issues, so I'll wait until those are resolved before buying.

Mount & Blade looks cool but I wasn't actually planning on buying anything else this holiday season, I'm just getting whatever coal I can and maybe I'll get lucky eh. ;[

Bought Defense Grid. It's a fantastic bundle that is definitely one of the best Tower Defense games I have ever played.

Mount and Blade: Warband is a fantastic game with a lot of depth and content to it, I can really recommend it. Fire and Sword is a bad game and the original Mount and Blade is the same as Warband with less content. It's DEFINITELY worth this reduced price, you might wanto to try to demo or something, the combat has a bit of a learning curve but is really fun and rewarding.

I hear Warband has a fairly big modding and multiplayer community as well, but I never tried these.

Grabbing that too ($2.49 before tax right now).

Anyone have any personal top 5 lists for games under $10 which they recommend others getting?
Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 if you can run them. Torchlight if you don't want to wait until Torchlight 2 which should be an improvement (and include multiplayer).

And even titles that were already on Daily Deal often make an appearance during the "Best of" day where they put the top games from daily sales back on sale for that price. Probably either (or both) December 25th and January 1st.
